As far as the beauty queen stuff goes, I guess she gave up the beauty for the brains. In my experience, women seem to only have one or the other. If you don't believe me, try to find a copy of "Playboy: The Women of Electrical Engineering". I'll wait.

I know a lot of pretty girls who are well educated and smart. This is a stigma in todays society which annoys me. I dont believe Im the "hottest" girl ever(VS models, supermodels, etc) but I do believe im somewhat attractive and smart. I also know plenty of former beauty queens who went on to become engineers, doctors, teachers, etc.
Please dont judge a book by its cover.

And I've dated incredibly smart women who were about average in intelligence. When I studied electrical engineering, computer science, robotics and insturmentation, it was 99% sausage fest with one or two moderately attractive women. The good looking women dropped out after the first or second semester.

I have yet to see a hot doctor (outside of 'Scrubs'), a hot engineer or a hot lawyer. Your profile pic is definitely the best looking Oil Chemist I've ever seen, but I haven't met many to be honest.

I know of the pageant system that she won in. It emphasizes more of a girl next door look than anything else. NOT the Miss Teen USA wannabe model image... more of a county fair type thing. Most of their county winners are a bit better looking than that, but St. Lawrence county probably had four girls enter that year, and she was probably the best of the bunch.

I can understand where you are coming from. Society tells the pretty women if they cant finish school they can always end up being a Trophy Wife.
I do also understand what you mean by dropping out the first or 2nd semester. I believe that happens with men as well. When I was a bio-chem major I met many hot guys who switched to business because they couldnt handle the assignments, etc.
