Hey, I'm going to be blind one day and I'd like to take the occasional photograph.

Do you knock people out of wheelchairs and pee on them too?

I bet they occasionally take really good pictures because they have no idea what is going on.

FTFA: The subjects include something you hate most about yourself, the manifestation of something invisible, something beautiful to you and something you are not allowed to look at.

How can you tell a blind person they aren't allowed to look at something?

I have a blind co-worker, and his favorite phrase is "see you later". It's awesome to see new hires react when he says it, because they're like "omfg, did he say that? how should we react?!".

Pretty much the less you know about your medium and the less able you are to accurately portray your message to the public the more you will be admired as an elite artist.

I predict that some dumbass ivory tower dweller in charge of some University's art department will use photographs by the blind as examples of nes-plus-ultra photographic art within the next 18 months.

LOL, I get it, cuz, he's blind, so...

You have idiot co-workers. If a blind person said, "see you later" to me, I'd say something like, "ya, cya" back to them, cuz why the hell not?

Societal standards still apply. Maybe it's a trap for blind pedophiles.

Is that a Geordie LaFarge reference? Never watched TNG much, but I was impressed how in only 20 years TV went from the stereotype of the jolly Scottish ship's engineer to the stereotype of the extraordinarily talented blind Negro.

Boy there's a lot of insensitive folks on Fark. The truth is, the average person cannot tell the difference between an image taken by a person who can see vs a person who cannot see. Okay, I'll show you... which picture below was taken by a blind person?

They are both more likely to be made by a seeing person because there are more seeing people that have cameras. Are those supposed to be pictures of the same thing? Is the first picture heavily edited to appear normal?

By definition, blind people aren't allowed to look at anything.

An okd blind guy once wrote an amazing book about a movie shot by a photographer, with lots of great description of light and color.

Too bad nobody knows what ever happened to him, besides the claw marks on the floor of his apartment, and all the tape measures nailed up everywhere.

Actually, a blind guy who used to come to my club all the time (who recently passed away bout a month or two ago, unfortunately), was a blind masseuse. He set up a massage table at a Hurricane Katrina benefit I threw at the club (before I even worked there), and gave me one of the best massages I've ever had in my life. He even picked me up back-to-back in order to crack my spine.

After he gave me a massage, he took my picture on a digital camera. He asked me to look at it afterwards to make sure I got in the picture. He would take pictures at other shows at the club too, and some of them were quite good.
