My sisters ex-husband played for the Bengals for a couple seasons. I was emberassed for him. Apperantly it was pretty depressing for many of the players to play for such s sh!tty team.
2002-10-10 01:58:02 PM
LeBeau should jump in that filthy Ohio River right now...Because the Bengals ARE GOING TO LOSE!

2002-10-10 01:58:09 PM
They AIN'T gonna beat the Steelers!!!!!

Jump in anyway!
2002-10-10 01:58:26 PM
He'll stay dry...the Bungles suck
2002-10-10 01:58:42 PM
The Bengals are an insult to the NFL... I've seen better high school football teams..
2002-10-10 01:59:18 PM
And whomever runs this farce of a NFL franchise should FIRE LeBeau after Tommy Maddox and the Steelers finish them off...
2002-10-10 02:00:04 PM
There are "many" fans? Really?

I remember when I was 7 and I still lived in Cleveland, the Bengals were good. That was a good 17 years ago.....
2002-10-10 02:00:34 PM
He only says that because he knows it won't happen.

It's sad when a team can't even beat the Steelers. The Steelers, folks!
2002-10-10 02:00:51 PM
I jumped into the Ohio once. I got out with a tail. It's quite handy now.
2002-10-10 02:00:51 PM
The Bengals will beat the Steelers. The Bengals are due for one and the Steelers defense is just horrible.
2002-10-10 02:01:35 PM
What are they going to call this game? The "Toilet Bowl"?
2002-10-10 02:01:47 PM
Before anyone tries to point it out, I am aware that the Bengals are a Cinncinnati team. We just used to get nervous when the Browns (the good ole Bernie days) had to play them.
2002-10-10 02:01:58 PM
The Bengals need to bring back the Ickey Shuffle.

I was at the first Bengals game this year in Cincy. It was amazing how fast the "we might be good this year" optimism of the crowd was crushed after the first 10 minutes. Now it's back to the same homicidal rantings prevelant over the last decade.... Go Bengals
2002-10-10 02:04:24 PM
Im from Ky but went to school in cincy. He makes me embarrased to admit that. I think he should jump in regardless... maybe he'll drown
2002-10-10 02:06:02 PM
"If we win," LeBeau said, "I will dive into the Ohio River."

Such confidence in the team... Shouldn't this say 'When we lose'
2002-10-10 02:06:04 PM
who will win their first game first?

Vikings, Rams or Bengals?
2002-10-10 02:06:14 PM
I'll believe that he'll jump in the Ohio River when turkeys can fly.

Les: I don't know. A man and his two children tried to kill me. After the turkeys hit the pavement, the crowd kind of scattered, but some of them tried to attack me! I had to jam myself into a phone booth! Then Mr Carlson had the helicopter land in the middle of the parking lot. I guess he thought he could save the day by turning the rest of the turkeys loose. It gets pretty strange after that.
Andy: Les, c'mon now, tell us the rest.
Les: I really don't know how to describe it. It was like the turkeys mounted a counterattack! It was almost as if they were ...organized!!

the Bengals will beat the Steelers.

then we'll have a great photoshop entry.
-a soggy LeBeau-
2002-10-10 02:07:26 PM
Too bad the Bengals don't play the Rams this year.

One of them would have to come out with a win!

Wait, what about a 0-0 tie? Would 0-15-1 count as the worst season ever? :)
2002-10-10 02:08:44 PM
Quite a few "experts" are picking an "upset" by chosing the Bangles over the Steelers.

I'm feeling it now: my preseason picks for the Superbowl are Steelers/Rams.

I are an asshat.
2002-10-10 02:09:35 PM
If any of the Bengals fans had even a modicum of football intelligence, they would realize that their head coach isn't the problem. They should be chucking the management into that fetid sewer they call a river.
2002-10-10 02:11:13 PM
I think a better idea would involve Mike Brown jumping in the Ohio if the Bengals lose. Of course he should be wearing concrete boots.
2002-10-10 02:15:48 PM
I thought we were talking about the 80's pop group. Bah, stoopyd mee.
2002-10-10 02:16:47 PM
The Bengals should not be THAT bad this season. They do have talent. If they play like they played last week they should beat the steelers. If they play like they played against San Diego they will go down hard.

And I don't even have a dog in that fight. GO BROWNS!
2002-10-10 02:16:47 PM
Cincy is only 4 wins away from winning the AFC North this season. I love the NFL with 8 "first place" and 8 "second place" teams. The regular season should be 6 games, then start a 3 month triple elimination playoff. TV will love that!
2002-10-10 02:16:55 PM
10-10-02 02:06:04 PM Shut........UP
who will win their first game first?

Vikings, Rams or Bengals?

I see the Rams getting their first win against the Raiders this weekend. Total fluke if that happens, but it would be hilarious.
2002-10-10 02:20:26 PM
The only thing that the Bengals have going for them is that they're in a pathetic division. If they get their act together an 8-8 record could win this division.
2002-10-10 02:22:06 PM
The entire AFC North should be exported to Canada. I have a feeling the division will end up with 13 wins this season. (12 from playing each other. 1 from Cleveland beating Tennessee a few weeks ago.)

And Dick LeBeau is a good guy. It's a sad thing that he'll probably be fired after this year.
2002-10-10 02:22:45 PM
The RAMS will get their first win before the sorry Vikings (and that dumbass Randy Moss) and the hapless Bungles (no wet LeBeau for you Cincy farkers!!)
2002-10-10 02:23:54 PM
Vikings will win first.

And I don't even like'm.
2002-10-10 02:24:21 PM
Crap, forgot about the Ravens beating Denver.
2002-10-10 02:34:30 PM
I put $20.00 on the Steelers to win the SuperBowl. Hey, I had 6-1 odds! I could have used that $20.00.
2002-10-10 02:34:36 PM
As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.
2002-10-10 02:36:02 PM
...and in related news, the rest of the world still laugh at American football and decide instead to play proper football.
2002-10-10 02:39:43 PM
Spuds - what is the deal with the Playoffs this year? Are you saying that the top two teams from each division will go to the PO's? So we could have, say, a Browns/Ravens first round PO game for the AFC North? Just wondering.
2002-10-10 02:46:09 PM
Now that scarface is on the bench in Pittsburgh, the Steelers will be back to their winning ways. Fatass Bettis is getting back on track, and Randle El is the future of the NFL.
2002-10-10 02:52:31 PM
Spuds: Only 2 wild card teams per conference, what did you smoke before you wrote that post?

As for who will win first, the Rams get the mighty Seachickens at home the week after the Chickens play on Monday night. As long as one of these three pathetic squads can run the table, I'll be happy.

/Seachickens fan rant

Any relation, mon ami?
2002-10-10 02:58:15 PM
CommieSheep - "...and in related news, the rest of the world still laugh at American football and decide instead to play proper football"

You mean that game invented by Armless Joe Jackson?
Household names the world over, those soccer stars!
2002-10-10 02:58:20 PM
Isn't Dick LaBeau what Hogan and the boys did for fun at Stalag 13?
2002-10-10 03:02:03 PM
I suspect that Cincy will get their first win on Dec 22...The Saints have a soft spot in their hearts for bottom feeding teams. See also Detroit.
2002-10-10 03:02:34 PM
a Bengals game IS an Ickey Shuffle.
2002-10-10 03:02:38 PM
He should jump in now and take the whole damn team with him. Also include that sorry ass Mike Brown.
2002-10-10 03:02:49 PM
Turkeys can fly. They roost in trees(roast in the oven) and they don't climb them to get up there. There are so many turkeys around here, they are in my yard, driveway and everywhere down the road everyday. It is hard to run them down and they will take flight to avoid being hit.Of course these are wild turkeys(not as good as the whiskey). Now back to the thread. If the Bengals have a chance to win it will be against the Steelers , they buth suck. GO PACKERS!

"Not funny, Sterneverse..."
2002-10-10 03:43:40 PM
As a long-time Steelers fan, I know that lately the Steelers almost always lose one of their games each year against the Bengals. Perhaps because of the way they've played so far this season, though, they'll be up for the game. If there's one silver lining to this season, it's the fact that the Steelers are not in a position to 'look past' any game.
2002-10-10 03:44:30 PM
Will it be on fire at the time?
2002-10-10 03:49:47 PM
I agree, players and coaching staffs come and go, yet the team still sucks. The 1 constant in the organization is the ownership.

Sell the team Mike.
2002-10-10 03:58:46 PM
Flaminio- Sorry but stuffing the strudle in Shultz just wasn't appropriate.

Isn't the French translation of LeBeau "the boy" so this this guys name is...Dick Boy?
2002-10-10 04:03:09 PM
The 80's pop group could beat the nfl bengals for gods sake...
