The picture of him in his wife beater is perfect for their wedding album. All they need now is the video of bride mud bogging to the alter.

2002-10-09 10:24:52 AM
What? Impossible! That guy doesn't look at all like he would get in a fight at his wedding! /sarcasm

Luckily, he hired COPS as the wedding videographer...

The newlywed was pepper-sprayed after allegedly shoving and swearing at a sheriff's deputy

Idjit. Swear all you want, but do not lay hands on a cop. They usually do not put up with that shiat and I do not blame them.

Not that it really matters, but did anyone else find it ironic that his name was withheld from the article that features a large color photograph?

What's the point of that?

Got that marriage started off right. No waiting for the seven year itch for them two.

"The defendant was later identified as the groom."

Classic!

Waukesha County Cops are Pricks... I know many people that have had bad dealings with this department. And I know for certain that the DA Paul Buchart not sure of proper spelling will try to throw the book at this guy. He too is a prick..

I wish all these weddings I've had to attend lately were this exciting. the most I ever see is some cousin fainting or Uncle Fred ripping his pants.

2002-10-09 03:48:16 PM
Funny. What a way to start off the honeymoon.
I was going to comment on the wife beater shirt but Cerie beat me to it.
The guys eyes look like he is still suffering from the bachelor party too.

What a lucky little lady he must have!

Of course he looks bad, he was pepper sprayed, on top of being somewhat intoxicated.

What a story this'll make for their kids! heh. "Tell us again daddy!"

EZ

I love reading police reports. At this time I do advise you that they are farking hilarious. This one was even funnier because you can follow the cop's progression toward sympathy for the groom, and regret at having had to arrest him.

think his wife will have the wedding annulled?

Hold on..joke coming..burning sensation..honeymoon..bachelor party..

2002-10-09 03:59:56 PM
Hard to tell from the article if the wife likes it in the back door. You have a lot of imagination.

2002-10-09 04:02:22 PM
Do you think he enjoyed his honeymoon lay?

2002-10-09 04:02:43 PM
Having lived in wisconsin most of my life, this act does not surprise me one bit. I wonder how many domestic dispute calls those cops have in their first year of marriage.

Hmm.....white trash ahoy!

I wonder what the bride looks like.

Got it..the only burning sensation you should have befor your honeymoon is from STD you picked up at your bachelor party...

I know its lame but its time to go home now.

According to the witnesses, Mr. Asshat (groom) was trying to break up the fight. Yes, you should never touch a cop, but...
So some jerk, maybe the ex of the bride, shows up at your wedding and starts a fight. You, the groom see your bride's dream day getting totally wrecked and try to straighten it out (plus everybody is drunk at this point so that ain't helping). You finally get the jerk who started it to leave (he probably left because someone said "you better get out of here or we're calling the cops", which they then did) and then after all this a cop shows up. You're (the groom) still full of adrenaline and booze yelling at the guy who decided to square off with the jerk instead of ignoring his taunts, when some stranger comes in (behind you?) and tells you to leave YOUR wedding. Without turning around (remember the groom was looking down at the guy on the ground), you shove the stranger and tell him to "get the fark out of here". So the cop sprays you and hauls you to jail.

Hey cop, there's a new thing on the streets...it's called LANGUAGE and SPEECH. You use your mouth to make sounds thereby COMMUNICATING with people. Like "What is going on here?" And, it's a two way street. Not only can you command people to do things, you can ASK QUESTIONS. Check it out.

Spent his wedding night in jail? I wonder if he was consummated while there.

Great synopsis Fenester!

2002-10-09 04:20:55 PM
Seems pretty obvious to me that the deputy, Kurt Keevan (who shot the deputy???) over reacted and escalated the incident himself. Out of line and if he pulled that in my jurisdiction there would definately be an investigation.

You can tell that he's concerned about it when he repeated the phrase 'assaulted' within the one paragraph where he describes the pepper spraying. Totally trying to cover his ass.(hat)

2002-10-09 04:22:06 PM
Anyone else see the metaphor for married life here?????

2002-10-09 04:24:51 PM
Fenester, I'm usually right at the top of the list of people verbally bashing cops, but I don't think this one was out of line one bit. You're in full uniform and someone lays a hand on you?? Wrong answer. In my opinion, this cop reacted in a pretty calm manner only using pepper spray instead of busting the guys kneecaps with his night stick.

I actually grew up in Waukesha County, and my parents still live there. The place the reception was at is a pretty nice place, and my guess is the employees there called the cops.

As for the DA in Waukesha County, he doesn't mess around, but depending on what the exact situation in all this ends up being the guy will probably just get probation, at most he'd get 30 days in county.

Fenester The deputy did try communicating, but nobody seemed to react to his presence other than the few sober people who pointed him into the reception hall. His first priority was to get everyone off of the guy on the floor, because as far as he knew the guy could be unconcscious and have internal bleeding. Rule number 1 around any officer of the law is to do everything they say and rule number 2 is don't touch them (especially if you're drunk and were already pounding on someone else). Pepper spray was just the thing to settle down the situation, and he gave the groom plenty of time to clean off ( as he says, as much time as he needed) In some other areas, the guy would have just gotten a beating from the cops.

My guess is that the couple will be together for a while. Hartland is an ok area, but has a good share rednecks too.

2002-10-09 04:40:41 PM
Mierk: I would say that the Deputy was certainly within his rights (or code of conduct or whatever they call it) to spray him and haul him in, and after the fact, it certainly seems he showed compassion and tried to make the best of a bad situation. And I can see how it would be scary in a (tight)room full of angry strangers and you might not feel you had much leeway. But speaking as someone who has no experience as a policeman and wasn't even there, I think the deputy could have handled it better.

2002-10-09 04:50:30 PM
Hmmm, wonder how stoned&drunk those eyes looked before the pepper spray...I'm guessing not much difference between the before and after.

2002-10-09 04:52:37 PM
I'd hit him!

It is possible to get married in WI without getting drunk, difficult, but not impossible.

Quick - somebody morph this guy and the woman who shot her kid out of the tree with a BB gun. They'd make some really cute young'uns...

This is why my wife and I had a very small wedding. * people total including us. We practically eloped. Saved a bundle on the wedding and had a great honeymoon.
