Ben Stein saying anything other than "Bueller" isn't worth listening to.

The same Ben Stein that is the lead in that creationist movie? Sorry everything Stein says now is taken with a LOT of salt.

What a link, expected Ben Stein then get a hot babe just blah blah blah.

I used to like Ben Stein.

But his little ad for some kind of sea fish consumption (eat fish, there's lots more out there) and his creationism movies put a screeching-ass halt to that mini love affair.

In his game show a contestant that won the max amount walked away with a whopping 500 bucks.

He counts being an economist among his crimes against humanity. That's worth something right there. Of course he left out Nixon speechwriter..

Isn't this the same douchebag that thinks there's a Darwinist conspiracy behind the "persecution" of Intelligent Design and religion in general?

Then again, I'm a guy who thinks there's a multinational corporation & international bankers conspiracy of cash-hording and global sovereignty disenfranchisement already happening around us, so there you go.

/whistles a quaint old tune...

Did I even use proper english there?

Failure to provide the right to vote to remain sovereign..okay I guess that's close.

You know what I mean.

Maybe.

God, I didn't even capitalize English. I'm an idiot. Oh, to be able to edit posts...

Stein is a smart guy and the neo-con movement is just starting to use his public recognition to support their nefarious aims. That's right, there IS a conspiracy!

The medicare shtick is about making rich people afraid they'll lose their money. Sign seen on the birth ward: you must be at least this rich to live.

The ID stuff is total fluff. Stein wants to play David Horowitz's academic freedom game to help the neo-cons but doesn't realize that a spurned idea is not necessarily a correct idea.

They should all DIAF!

I am not trolling, this is an honest question.

Why is Ben Stein so respected? What has he written and prognosticated that has turned out so well that everyone thinks he is so important?

Corvus: Why is Ben Stein so respected? What has he written and prognosticated that has turned out so well that everyone thinks he is so important?

Reading about his career the only things seem very not worth is he is a mouth piece for the Republican Part and a Nixon apologist.

Am I missing something? What is his big contribution to economics?

After we're done slandering the name of Ben Stein, does anybody have anything of substance to say about the Medicare crisis?

2007-11-27 09:53:46 PM
It sounded to me like he was saying the US economy is farked six ways to sunday by 2050 unless they raise the taxes on the rich. I'm still not sure I heard that correctly since that seems out of character for him to say.

sat1va If we're going to single people out by raising taxes on "the rich," I suggest we instead start by raising your taxes to 100%.

Article I, Section 8. The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States.

Easy for you and your eight-figure salary to say, Ben. Come live a workin' man's life for a change, see how much you can save.

/Yes, the ivory tower admits Republicans, too.

Tell that to Ben Stein, not me. I'm not American and it wasn't my suggestion.
