Just tear down the entire city and start over from scratch.

I suggest you start with blackjack and hookers. In fact, forget the blackjack.

2007-11-24 06:27:25 PM
Holy hell. Are we going to be the first city to get its own tag?

2007-11-24 06:46:02 PM
Article's headline: ...leakage reported from derailed train in city

That's the last time that train eats chips with Olestra in them, I'll tell you that for free...

The city that reads, bleeds, breeds, ___________. Fill in the blank.

2007-11-24 07:17:36 PM
Dixon will find a way to blame Ehrlich. O'Malley will find a way to tax it.

2007-11-24 07:21:48 PM
Actually most of the east coast cities could use a good getting destroyed and rebuilt from scratch. They have like a 1600s street plan thats been in place since before cars.

In Europe you can tell which cities got blown up during WWII and rebuilt after words, because they have an efficient street plan.

BalugaJoe:

Amtrak may well be terrible, but, as far as I can tell from the article, they had nothing to do with it.

Let's just say that the writers for that HBO series don't need to exaggerate the crime and violence of Baltimore. One just has to read the newspaper and watch the news. And stay alive!

Woo!!!

All of you just wait and see, Baltimore's coming back, just give it around seventy-five years.

Redskins-Orioles fan, so I'm having a bit of schadenfreude right now, but not too much because the Skins aren't much better. The Orioles had a pretty miserable run though. We have pretty good heroin here so come on down if you're into that.

Who the hell uses Amtrak, or worse, Greyhound?
Had to go to Orlando with my mom. We ended up with two round trip tickets for $500 or so.
AMTRAK was $700 round trip, and it would have been 17 hours on the train.
Greyhound was $800 round trip, and it would have taken 35 hours to get there.

I only use Amtrak when it's the weekend, MARC isn't running, and I have no other way to get to/from DC for one reason or another. Funnily enough, MARC runs on the same tracks.
