No_One_Special: College football sucks. It's sloppy and unwatchable. It only exists as a proving ground for players who want to play real football, in the NFL. Which is what real football fans watch, not that sloppy college garbage.

you, sir, FAIL in every way possible. take your trolling elsewhere.

they guaranteed a bowl if they win today?

They're eligible. Everyone and their cousin is becoming bowl eligible, you really need to go 7-5 if you want to get into a bowl game.

baorao: FiascoSauce: Oregon was fun to watch, but all you need to do is turn right to WVU. They are the original spread offense, and possibly MORE fun to watch. Also, i'm sure they have a hankerin to lay a beatdown on uconn and pitt because they know it will finally get them into the title game after being just outside the door the last 5 years.

WVU annoys me for some reason. I think its because I know Pat White is terrible at throwing the ball. Dixon was actually a pretty decent passer.

But he's not. He's a relatively efficient passer with a 70% completion percentage and 11 TDs for 3 picks. He's not Joe Montana, but he's not a *bad* passer by any means.

WoodyHayes: Yeah, I prefaced what I was saying by stating that I'm not a Big Televen fan which is the truth. Would you prefer that I lie or something?

Bullshiat, like you dont like to see other teams in your conference win, if you dont you are retarded since if your team beats them they look better.

Eh?

You have always been bitter about the SEC whipping OSU in every bowl game, just admit it.

Why do you always act as if you have something to prove?

I dont but its ironic that a big 10 fan wants to argue this point in a year when the conference sucks bad.

That would have been even funnier but no, it wasn't to a Division II team.

Relax man.

I-AA doesnt look much better does it and you knew what the fark I meant, the team you are most proud of beating lost to the very same teams all of the SEC gets made fun of for scheduling.

The football team competes in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (formerly I-AA)

omg I'd laugh for years if they became the traditional "get beaten by teams from crappy conferences who get a token BCS nod" team.

Fleet: I thought it was '81. So technically you were right to think of making fun of me.

meh, I have the advantage of the internets. WoodyHayes pointed me to this site (pops), which is pretty damn awesome for looking stuff up historically.

Third Day Mark: I had a feeling you were subby, hence the Troy Smith remark.

I'm the subby pretty much every week. I thought about taking yet another shot at Michigan and/or Les Miles but passed on it.

It pains me to no end that somehow Ohio State could be playing in the national championship again, and Florida won't be there to play them.

Rose Bowl, Rose Bowl, Rose Bowl. Considering the utter dearth of seniors on this team (only two starters are seniors), at the start of the season I thought Orlando would be a reasonable goal.

It's still, as I said earlier in the season, Oregon minus the talent. Nowhere near as good as Oregon.

I would argue the whole "efficient =/= good" thing, but if he's only turned the ball over 3 times as a QB thats pretty respectable. He's not the age old, drop back and huck it 40-45 times a game QB. Neither is Tebow (Cheap pop), which is why people are reluctant to give him the Heisman as a Sophomore. The modern day QB is just as good outside the pocket and scrambling (Tebow, White, Dixon) as the old model of staying in the pocket and never, ever leaving.

KernLead: Who have you got? I'm gonna go out on a limb here a guess you haven't seen one UH game this year.

I've seen 3. Woo, struggling against mighty 4-7 San Jose State! Wow, that really scares me!

Beating Boise State was nice, but it comes with an asterisk of injuring half of Boise State's secondary...by the way, Hawaii is great at getting away with several cheap shots after the whistle. Seriously, they deserve to get left out just on that alone. Not a big surprise no one wants to play them in Hawaii, where they're allowed to do whatever they want.

And they barely held on to beat a mediocre in a crappy conference Fresno State team. Good job with that.

I couldn't care less about other teams in the Big Televen winning. One of these days you're going to have to understand that.

You have always been bitter about the SEC whipping OSU in every bowl game, just admit it.

No dude, relax.

I dont but its ironic that a big 10 fan wants to argue this point in a year when the conference sucks bad.

Yes you do, you always act as if you have something to prove to everybody. Week after week you do that, as if you desperately need the approval of others and you get belligerent if somebody doesn't agree with you 100%. If you would ever just relax your tone a wee bit you'd find people a lot more receptive than you think.

Really.

Because I've got a WAC Championship and some ungodly passing #'s to show you that would say otherwise.

Any shot at ye olde school up north is one i'm comfortable with. My mom's family is from Indiana so I secretly, in the deep cockles of my heart that I never talk about, follow and root for the mighty Hoosiers. Good point. They actually beat the teams they were supposed to beat. How's your team doing in that department.

I'm pretty sure other teams don't want to play Hawaii because they don't want to spend 10+ hours on a plane and suffer a five to six hour time differential to play some team that isn't a patsy. Then again, that didn't work out to well for Michigan this year.

However if you can get an average passer, with above average legs and running skills at the helm, you've got a fighting chance always. Which is why WV is so successful.

You make a good point, but look at it this way- would Jared Zabransky ever have a shot at being on the cover before last season? Not at all, and that would just deprive me of the happiness in knowing that every OU fan dies a little inside every time they pick up that game and take the disc out of it's case.

That should be a bowl game. 1400yds of offense, 189 pts scored, game lasts 73 hrs. Fun times.

Plus, from what I hear about the fans in HI, it should be a black hole of asshole fans.

I dunno, they claim USC didn't want to play them, yet USC doesn't seem to ever have any problem with Hawaii. Hawaii seems to think they are worthy of having teams from real conferences come play them like everyone else is a I-AA school and they're in the SEC. HAWAII needs to go play someone at their place. Sack up, Hawaii.

Third Day Mark: Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we have this discussion last year when Boise St was selected to play Oklahoma?

No, I liked Boise State in that game and I hate Oklahoma and would never pick them. I wasn't sure they'd actually win, but I expected Boise State to roll with them. Even as a Boise State supporter, I still wouldn't say they deserved a shot at the national title, though. I'm pretty sure they're happy with a BCS game win.

Yeah, there's a reason I downloaded it and I still have it saved to my xbox hard drive. I love seeing Bob Stoops' soul taken from him and crushed. I love seeing the Oklahoma fans get all excited, KNOWING that they're going to get decimated.

Hawaii's not done, they still have to play a team that beat Boise State by more than Hawaii did in tied-for-last-place-in-the-Pac-10 Washington.

But no, that also makes Hawaii look more impressive.

You could see it in the fans, too. After the tying score and the Zabranksi pick six, they were pumped. When Boise forced OT it was like you told all of them the US was giving back their state to the Indians.

I have to go find that on YouTube now.

I'm not mocking the WAC, I'm mocking a Hawaii team that had TWO I-AA teams on their OOC schedule. Not even good I-AA teams, but I-AA teams with losing records. Their schedule so far has a 44-78 record. They gotta love Boise State; without them it's 34-76, more than twice as many losses as wins.

Same here, I've got it on my DVR. I saved that game hoping for an upset, and even had to save the entire next episode of a sitcom rerun because it ran so long, but it's like my prized possession for recorded TV. lmao yeah. The weird part was, even after the pick six, I still felt a weird feeling that Boise State was still going to pull it off. That was the reason the '05 Rose Bowl was so crushing, with that USC team over the past couple years, I ALWAYS felt that they were going to pull it off, and seeing them not do it was just bizarre.
