Turkey Paella.

That wasn't turkey.

I once tried coating leftover turkey with batter and deep-frying it to make turkey nuggets.

My god, that was disgusting.

I don't know, maybe it would work with white meat, but the greasy leftover portions of thigh meat made even the most fat-dripping KFC chicken nugget seem lean in comparison.

2007-11-23 01:52:35 PM
Other than left over turkey sandwiches, the only other thing I really like to make out of it is turkey/jalapeno dip. So simple, yet so good to snack on while watching tv.

It's just not Thanksgiving without making (and eating!) a huge pan of Turkey Tetrazzini the next day.

2007-11-23 01:55:10 PM
KFC doesn't make chicken nuggets.

Food Network has been doing this crap today. I just saw Giada make some nasty ass pasta dish with leftover turkey, it looked like vomit with pasta mixed in.

Hmm, leftovers. Right now eating: Turkey/stuffing/gravy with added mushrooms mixed up in a bowl. Simple is the best!

Get some puff pastry dough (or filo dough), fill with turkey, gravy/cranberry, potato/stuffing, bake and eat.

its up there with turkey soup >:)

My wife is an excellent cook. The only dish she ever totally screwed-up was turkey lasagne. Quite the foulest thing we'd ever tasted. I think it was the texture of ground, cooked, pale-pink turkey.

beucccch!

Turkey Vindaloo, on the other hand......

Bah. Here's a no-turkey abuse: Take a wad of stuffing and divide it in two. Form each small wad into a thin patty (on a floured surface if it sticks). On one patty, stack some swiss cheese and cranberry sauce, then lay the other patty on top. Pinch them together, then fry like a pancake until both sides are crispy and the cheese is melted.

Breakfast of the gods. I call it "stuffed stuffing".

Fried turkey farkin tacos. Been a friday after thanksgiving tradition for as long as i can remember.

Buckler,

Speaking of breakfast...Last year I tried making omelettes out of leftover green bean casserole. Holy cow, it's good!

"pink" and "cooked" are usually mutually exclusive when it comes to turkey.

Take several chunks of turkey meat and cut into small bite size pieces.
Mix in bowl with dog food.
Put bowl on floor.

Seriously, you are doing yourself a favor if you do things simple.

Got a slow cooker? Good. Get leftover turkey meat, throw it with raw veggies, add turkey gravy and broth and cook it on low for several hours. Serve over noodles or mashed potatoes.

I don't understand this insanity with leftovers. The remains of a leftover roast turkey is great as sandwiches, and I don't know how anyone can get tired of that.

Best thing in the world- a nice roast turkey sandwich.

(Always keep the bones, they're great for making broth for kick-ass soup.)

Yeah maybe it's unamerican, maybe it's downright inhuman, I don't know.

I really dislike turkey.

I like the rest of the Thanksgiving spread. Hell, in my heart I believe that the true meaning of Thanksgiving is nothing but a delivery system for stuffing. Give me all the side dishes, the desserts, the family concoctions that Uncle Bob invented that's weird but kinda good. Just...keep the Turkey off of my plate. Yuck.

Oh, and Martha Stewart needs to die for her crimes against Thanksgiving. She didn't start the trend, but she propagated it infinitely to every housewife who's ever read her magazine or watched one of her shows. My mom does it, my girlfriend's stepmom did it, it's farking disgusting.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP PUTTING FRUIT IN STUFFING!

Cranberries, dates, raisins, pineapple, mango...jesus, just keep it out of the stuffing! Stuffing is bread, spices, herbs, celery, and maybe some chunks of some sort of meat. THAT IS ALL! NO FRUIT! DAMN YOU MARTHA!!!!

THIS oh and THIS AGAIN!
I gotta believe there is a human, somewhere that likes it that way... just not anyone I'd care to associate with.

My mom makes great stuffing - she made 2 large pans worth - 1 for the meal, the other for me and my two brothers to battle royal over to take home.

I also had game hen, so no leftover meat, but i did have leftover potatoes, stuffing and corn. For breakfast. And lunch. It's all gone now.
