2007-11-20 12:09:46 PM
DAMMIT. Gunny Highway, I was gonna say that.

2007-11-20 12:09:50 PM
Why start trying to make things funny now?

Gunny Highway: follow up: No they arent funny at all.

If they're sitcom writers, that needs an "obvious" tag.

2007-11-20 12:10:40 PM
Was there an actual Onion story like this?

2007-11-20 12:10:59 PM
Yep.. they haven't been funny for years. Why start now?

2007-11-20 12:11:03 PM
"...their picket sign is funny."

They only have one sign?

2007-11-20 12:11:33 PM
Please, stay on strike, you guys suck. We'll get our daily dose of political indoctrination elsewhere.

2007-11-20 12:11:56 PM
How about a kick in the goolies? That's pretty funny.

2007-11-20 12:12:16 PM
I suppose being on strike and all they're just not paid to be funny. Well minus Ray Romano, who was telling jokes no one could hear. That'd be the funniest I'd ever seen him.

So are those tits on Louis-Dreyfus real?

I don't understand how they can have such a high view of themselves. They write television shows. They are the puss-filled pimples on the ass of society.

They only divert us from our problems instead of letting us think about our problems and solving them. And they do it poorly, I might add. I don't follow a single tv show sans science, discovery or animal planet.

/likes me my learning TV

I think it would be fun to sit across the street in a lawn chair with a bullhorn and a laugh track.

2007-11-20 12:13:35 PM
Actually, the picket signs done by the guys who wrote "Arrested Development" were really funny, but you really need to have read them from the beginning of the strike in order to truly appreciate them.

Julia Dreyfuss got run over by the ugly truck.

NOT FUNNY, LIKE 99% OF THE POST HERE.

2007-11-20 12:14:39 PM
If these are WRITERS picketing, shouldn't their signs be blank anyway?

2007-11-20 12:15:32 PM
If they're writers, and they're on strike...aren't they breaking their own strike by writing the picket signs? They should just carry blank ones...

It's a collaborative effort.

Just because it is required knowledge, I don't own a TV!

/Just kidding I own like 5, but only 4 work good. (sic)

You'd think they'd have blank signs.

Well, I can now cross her off my jack off list :(

The writer's want to be free. But only if they're Swedish.

Not necessarily. They could be writing in their spare time.

Hey, is this the thread where nobody owns a TV and we're all too smart to watch anything that isn't "I, Claudius" or CCTV footage from the Fermi labs?

I'd worry less about the signs and more about the pampering from the stars. I saw a pic of Eva Longoria delivering pizza to strikers last week. Remove her clothes, and that's pretty much my ultimate sexual fantasy.

Funny? Maybe.

Original? No.

Click here and scroll down a little bit to see how 8 other cartoonists basically drew the same thing.

So in true Hollywood fashion, they are copying one another, except no one is forcing them to do it this time.

well, they are on strike. if they wrote a lot of signs, they'd be giving in to the man.

2007-11-20 12:27:23 PM
None of the signs I've seen so far are remotely funny; the only one I remember now is "Suck my pencil." Wow, that's... awesome. For that matter, most "protest" signs suck ass.

The winner: If these are WRITERS picketing, shouldn't their signs be blank anyway?

How many of you progammers own the code you write, or get paid everytime it's used

yeegrek: I saw a pic of Eva Longoria delivering pizza to strikers last week. Remove her clothes, and that's pretty much my ultimate sexual fantasy.

I think I'd have her and Selma Hayek, one with pizza and the other with beer. That would be ultimate.

The Dread Pirate Robertson: Hey, is this the thread where nobody owns a TV and we're all too smart to watch anything that isn't "I, Claudius" or CCTV footage from the Fermi labs?

No i watch TV pretty much all day and none of the shows i watch have stopped airing. So this is where i come to make fun of people i think have no talent for entertaining me. JLD is was good in Sienfeld and Cristmas Vacation outside of that her shows have been miserable failures so i think making fun of her is appropriate.

/Continues watching Sponge Bob

Took me a second, but I chuckled.

Deadfeznt: How many of you progammers own the code you write, or get paid everytime it's used

If you want that kinda gig, you go into business for yourself and license it.

Only if I write the payment in the code.
