Started putting on some weight so I bought a bike. Probably the best thing I've done for myself lately. If you haven't ridden since you were a kid (like me) it really can be quite exhilarating.

Diet and exercise FTW. It can even be fun, chubbos!

Here's a trick to lose weight (32 pounds to be exact):

1. Get "severe diverticular disease" in your large intestine.
2. Go for five years on a liquid diet and take lots of antibiotics that don't work.
3. End up getting 8 inches of intestine taken out.
4. shiat every time you eat anything at all.
5. Become thin!!1!

Can one maintain a stable weight, with a high level of physical activity, AND eating too much? Or is diet just as important?
In my experience when my exertion levels were high enough it didn't seem like gaining weight was possible. Even if I had overeaten all day every day it seemed like I would poop out whatever my body didn't need/want. So, is only enough exercise enough? Ignoring the obvious reprocussions of too much cholesterol?

i'm not an expert, but it seems to me that if you keep your metabolism working for you, you don't have to watch your diet as closely.

of course, it's still helpful to eat a balanced diet. cramming cakes and brownies down your throat all the time still isn't good. and eating til you feel like you can't move is also still not good.

but eating reasonably healthy (which is a lot easier than eating extremely healthy) and just knowing the difference between being full and being stuffed has kept me in relatively good shape with the appropriate amount of activity.

Firstly you would have say how much exercise that would be.
Secondly take into account that for one person a certain amount of exercise may be enough but for another with different metabolism they may need more.

Then taking that into account you would have to look into what else tht person does during the day.

eg an unemployed single person with no children probably has all day to exercise and could quite easily eat deep friend chicken and chips for breakfast lunch and dinner. But may get sick due to lack of nutrients.

But a fulltime working mother of two with a lazy husband probably would be lucky to get 1/2 an hour a day to exercise and thus would need to dramatically cut her calories to help her lose the weight or to keep it off.

I was in college and racing mountain bikes every weekend. admittedly the exertion level was quite extreme, but the amount of food eaten was absurd and (in my mind) disperportional to my energy output, but weight was never gained. So, will a high enough metabolism stop allowing calories to be absorbed over a certain point?

i saw a fat ass struggling to walk on the side of the road the other day. i pulled over next to him and asked him what the problem was. before he could answer, i started laughing and pointing at him. he stared at me with hate in his eyes. it was then that i threw some left over food that hit him in the face. i motioned towards my glove box to indicate the location of my firearm while driving off
