Dinkbreath: and Festivus

Not really. It calls for a pole.

...and for all the overly sensitive anti-religion types, STFU and GBTW! Seriously, get over it. I'm not very religious myself, but I do get annoyed with whiny people who have nothing better to do than find fault with everything that doesn't fit into their narrow viewpoint.

I find it interesting that people that complain the loudest about the word "Christmas" still celebrate it and expect gifts.
Farking hypocrites.

SoxSweepAgain: Oh who freaking cares.

Christmas has become secular anyway, so call them Christmas farking trees.

Call them "Happy Birthday Jeebus" trees. I'm so sick of worrying about offending religious people.

I like to offend ALL religious people.

Happy Jeebus B-Day, now light up your tree and plop presents under it, I want some X-Mas booty!

Yeah, pretty much this.

Okay, this may be a silly question for most of you, but what the hell is a "christian degenerated STFU"?

That reminds me, I gotta head out to some farm in a few weeks and chop down a fir or pine tree so I can appropriately celebrate Christmas in the spirit of my German ancestors, both the pagan ones and the Catholic ones.

Still wondering why Christians get all up in arms over Christmas trees when its actually a pagan ritual that was incorporated into the system..

Like many other things, it makes no sense..

besides, IT ISNT EVEN THANKSGIVING YET!

Christmas is held dear to many Christians around the world. One of the biggest driving factors of the holiday, besides the religious aspect, is the feeling of nostalgia that surrounds Christmas.
In a large way, this nostalgia was artificially created by companies in order to sell their products.
Well, the recent trend is to have an all encompassing, late December holiday.
The ironic thing is that the companies that have seeded our modern idea of "Christmas" into the minds of Christians for the sake of money are turning their back on them to make an extra buck.

Boo hoo. Lowe's is being PC.

So don't shop there.

Last I checked, there's plenty of Christmas trees available damn near everywhere. You don't have to crucify Lowe's. They already have their cross to bear. Jesus.

2007-11-14 07:32:53 PM
100% stories about retailers avoiding being offensive by referencing Christmas. 0% stories of people actually offended by it. People are more offended that they have to endure "Christmas Music" from the day after Halloween than they are with the actual observance of Christmas. Bet those songs you hear on the overhead reference Christmas once or twice.

Whole issue is BULLshiat.

The people who think that anything Christian is evil and must be opposed.

And sumbitard got it completely backwards.

kingMountain: "family trees."

that makes it sound way more sinister.

Besides, everyone knows Jesus' manger was made of Douglas Fir. So it is obviously a Christmas tree.

So companies aren't allowed to say what they want?

What don't you STFU up and stop crying. I don't cry when people say "merry christmas"!!!

You are the cry baby!!! you shut up!!!

History shows us the tradition of decorating a "Christmas tree" is actually rooted in a pagan tradition of decorating the trees. The trees were viewed as phallic symbols representing the fertility of the nature gods. The tradition was associated with the winter solstice and seen as the rebirth of the Sun God.

So all the non-pagan complainers might want to man up and apologize to the pagans for corrupting their religious symbols and traditions.

Anyone? Anyone?

2007-11-14 07:35:57 PM
It's Christmas, end of story. Even so, Rob and Chad shouldn't be apologizing for this.

No, dumbass. It's because Jesus was crucified to a tree, and then that tree turned into a rocket ship and Jesus traveled all over the world giving presents to kids before riding his rocket ship tree back to heaven.

Get it right.

2007-11-14 07:36:13 PM
Good.

If I buy one of those Family Trees, will I find out who my ancestors are?

What a stupid PC name for a CHRISTmas tree.

The fundiatheism is strong in this one.

Dear those trying to ruin Christmas for everyone else: STFU

If you have a problem or are offended by Christmas, DON'T CELEBRATE IT! No one will care. Let everyone else who wants to celebrate it, do so in respect to their beliefs/disbeliefs.
