Everything I've heard about Bon Jovi is that he's a thoroughly decent, kind, thoughtful, and caring man. Nothing about that qualifies him as governor of New Jersey.

2007-11-14 09:29:19 AM
I guess that is as unlikely as actors in California being elected governor.

2007-11-14 09:39:40 AM
It doesn't make a difference if he makes it or not.

He may not give the best speeches, but the light show is awesome.

I don't know if Jon Bon Jovi could do it, but I bet Springsteen could get elected.

How long has Bon Jovi been in the Mafia?

Why's everybody getting so excited? The story is from the NY Post, so it means nothing.

2007-11-14 11:51:43 AM
Won't that be a violation of the separation of church and state when the governor is living on a prayer?

He's halfway there.

He does own an arena football team. Isn't sports franchise ownership supposed to prepare one for political office?

Springsteen may not be up your alley, but anyone who claims he has no talent is just lying to themselves.

It's his life, it's now or never, he don't wanna live forever.

but is he going to be a good governor?
is he going to make jersey thrive?

2007-11-14 12:28:31 PM
Well, let's see, I'm sure he will never ditch us for a government position, pretty sure he's not gay and won't partake in gay activities, and I'm sure he'll wear a seatbelt in his car....so that already makes him better than the past 3 governors!!

QFT. There are certain musical artists who have risen to the level where people calling them untalented just lose all credibility. I don't own a single Springsteen song, but that man is up there.

Bon Jovi, not so much.

If The Boss ran for statewide office in Jersey, he might Weeners-ever shutout in electoral history.

/if Bon Jovi wins, however, hopefully this means the state song officially becomes "Livin' on a Prayer"

It's his life, so if you are livin on a prayer these days in New Jersey, you gotta keep the faith that better candiates aren't laying down in a bed of roses.

To the people of New Jersey he has these 5 words to say to them...

He'll be there for them.

Writing songs about cars, the Jersey Shore, and factories isn't exactly what I'd call having talent. The guy couldn't sing in key if you replaced his voicebox with a pitchpipe. At least Bon Jovi has something of a voice even if his music is crap. Don't confuse popularity with talent.
