"Wasabi can be used like horseradish, but has a sweeter aftertaste, said Lia, who noted it contains potassium, calcium and Vitamin C.

The Japanese routinely serve it with sushi, believing it kills microbes."

And who said that FARK couldn't be educational?

Most wasabi served in the US at sushi restaurants isn't real wasabi. It is just horse radish. Wasabi is quite expensive.

What do you wanna bet they have a nice 'herb' garden as well?

Ecoforesters? What distinguishes an "ecoforester" from a "forester"? Ah, I guess that they don't pour used motor oil at the base of trees like normal foresters, and they don't use spent uranium trowels.

Finally, something news worthy

Heh heh, Tarvus, I was trying to find a decent pic of that commerical to post here, but unfortunately all of the images found were too small. As you can see from my post above, I like my images BIG and ANNOYING.

Wasabi aka napalm for the sinuses.

My god, do I love Wasabi. Go to a real Sushi restaurant, splurge, and spend the required $100-$150 for dinner and enjoy one of the most incredible taste sensations you've ever had. You won't regret it.

Wasabi aka napalm for the sinuses.

Wasabi may taste great now, but you know you'll be up all night with anal leakage.

Why is a cat flying a plane?
2002-10-06 12:24:26 AM
Because the japs ate the dog.
2002-10-06 12:27:45 AM
That's nonsense. Cat is a much finer meal. That is why the Japs allow them to breed like the Chinese.
2002-10-06 12:28:04 AM
That's Koreans, numbnuts. At least get your ethnic stereotypes right.

2002-10-06 12:31:14 AM
Koreans eating dog is not a stereotype.
2002-10-06 12:33:28 AM
Hmmm, that explains the anal leakage it causes.
2002-10-06 12:37:29 AM

"I think people in the valley are very aware of what happened with ginseng and are cautious that it not happen again."

This is all they mention about the ginseng. It was apparently so horrible they can't elaborate on it.

Ginseng. The Horror...

Ginseng:: It's all in your Head

Dude, you guys who linked to the 'wasabi' Budweiser parody should know that there is in fact a real wasabi budweiser commercial. Look for it on in the "10 best commercials of all time" thing. I'm sure if you just search "commercial" you'd find it.
2002-10-06 05:16:34 AM

any questions?

Beppo: No, kimchi is a Korean pickled & aged cabbage. Kinchi stinks to high heaven but it's good stuff.
2002-10-06 08:25:42 AM
You mean all this time I thought I was eating wasabi, I was eating a cheap concoction of horseradish, doctored up with green food coloring? Damn those evil corporate cheats!
2002-10-06 08:54:18 AM
In high school, while all the cool kids were out enjoying the 'best years' of their lives, my friends and I would sit around in the basement and compete at who could eat the biggest spoonful of wasabi. One of us had a dad who was into cooking, so it was always around. Ah, youth.

On an unrelated note, I no longer have an anus.
2002-10-06 11:04:40 AM
I was introduced to wasabi by an evil friend, who told me "that the green stuff is good, have big piece of it"

It was like a party inside my mouth, a lobotomy party with rusty tools...

$1000/100g = $10/g
1oz = 28.3g

This is actually more profitable than your average street weed. Just think of what the world would be like if wassabi replaced maryjane.....

we would all have VERY clear sinuses!

$1000/100g = $10/g

Actually, that would be 1300 Yen or around $10 US
