Did anyone see the conjoined twins on Lark King last night, I was scared.
2002-10-06 01:02:43 AM
WTF is Lark King? Oh and no I did not see it, because I do not know what Lark King is.
2002-10-06 03:07:32 AM
Basket Case 2 had the most disturbing sex scene I have ever seen in a movie.
2002-10-06 04:18:57 AM
...murderous Siamese twins...

Uh. Olsen Twins after 18?
2002-10-06 04:19:29 AM

I lasted for about 5 minutes, then it occured to me that Buffy was on FX.
2002-10-06 04:21:41 AM
Wait, as opposed to siamese twins that aren't deformed?
2002-10-06 04:29:09 AM
well..if we put our heads together
2002-10-06 04:31:24 AM

2002-10-06 04:37:28 AM
There are good B-movies and there are bad B-movies
The bad ones involve beautiful women and unnecessary deaths...

dont they know you're supposed to kill the FAT and CLOTHED ONE!?

What's up with the movie reviews, is this 80's horror flick day?
2002-10-06 05:03:35 AM
This movie is in Joe Bob Briggs' all time hall of fame.

That's gotta count for something.

The new servers kick ass!

2002-10-06 05:21:55 AM
What the fark, first 'Slugs' review - 80's horror flick about mutant flesh-craving slugs and now this?
2002-10-06 05:27:00 AM
Now, I've seen some pretty farked up movies in my time, but...

2002-10-06 05:31:44 AM
heh, I liked it better as an X-File episode.

Actually, it was the premise of 2.

2002-10-06 05:35:05 AM
Basket Case may have been crap, but Basket Case 2 is a masterpiece.

First, how do you get Lark King from Larry King? That's a long way for your right index finger to slip.

Second, I saw the siamese twins that were joined at the head on Larry King. I came in on their music video. Late at night. Put the fear of BoB in me.
2002-10-06 07:48:24 AM
I got all 3 of them. I enjoy watching crappy B-movies now and then.

You wanna hear something really creepy? Two days ago someone, in one of these very threads, mentioned basketweaving in their post. Then, yesterday, I saw some baskets going out to the trash at work. And then, just now, as I was coming home from (censored) I saw one of those cutesy sayings on a church marquee: Don't give up! Even Moses was a basket case. Now this article!
And some dare to say that there is no other side.

A group of friends and I actually rented this movie in high school. The girls were particularly grossed out by the fact that the movie actually had a "money shot".

I'm waiting for a review of "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes".
2002-10-06 10:04:14 AM
Maybe one of the funniest not-intended-to-be-funny movies of all time.
2002-10-06 10:55:10 AM
I hear the sequels take all of this to a whole new and much sicker level. I'll have to find them sometime. :)

I consider myself to be somewhat of a horror movie expert and I think Basket Case is one of the best and lesser know films of the genre (did I just type "genre"...what a pretentious ass).
It's great. Funny, bloody and frightening. Being a true low budget film, many of the extras and some of the actors were junkies, hookers and scum from the neighborhood in which it was filmed.
2002-10-06 11:17:44 AM
anyone ever hear the techno song w/ basket case clips? its pretty decent
2002-10-06 11:25:33 AM
That website has the most annoying pop-up ever.
2002-10-06 11:57:10 AM
I think this plot was loosely based on an old E.C. comic I read once,as were hundreds of other B-grade horror flicks.Nevertheless,my favorite movie siamese twins are still the ones from "City of lost children".

A freaking classic, whtf is up with calling this a no rent. The band EON (the spice must flow) even made a song using sounds from the movie. This movie rocks.
2002-10-06 12:50:24 PM
Dr Sbaitso ROCKED!!!!!!
2002-10-06 01:09:59 PM
Daddio - I never like saying 'no rent' to these movies since I personally enjoy most of what I review, the thing is, I don't run a horror movie site, it's just something I like reviewing. My scores and grades take into consideration that not all of the people reading - or even most - are big enough fans of those types of films to where they'd enjoy it themselves.

Then again, I'm mostly talking out of my ass with these reviews, so the bottom line is that if I felt anything towards it enough to warrant spending all the time screencapping and writing about it, it's probably worth a viewing. :)

Me and a buddy of mine have a long-running argument going about whether this movie somehow inspired the Hugo episode of the Simpsons. I say it probably was, seeing as every other halloween episode plot was taken from a movie up until then, and Simpsons writers would have been teenagers with no lives when Basket Case came out.

Wicket couple of movies all the same, though. The scene with Belial and his brother's girlfriend is classic.

I LOVE these kinds of movies! I only saw "Basket Case" once, but it was memorable.

Anybody ever see "Re-Animator"? Talk about your wild movies. Totally over the top and gory as hell, but it's so cartoony that it will make you laugh instead of grossing you out. Make sure you get the unrated version; in other words, don't rent it from Ballbuster. They don't carry non-rated versions of films. I guess they know more about what I want to see than I do.

Other movies to check out if you're into Grade Z flicks --

1) "Curse of the Swamp Creature" (1966) - mad scientist turns reptiles into humans.

2) "The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies" (1965) -- people have acid thrown in their faces to be used as freaks in a circus

3) "Orgy of the Dead" (1965) -- 1960s strippers dancing in a graveyard to really bad music.

4) "Blood Feast" (1963) -- first true gore film. Features girl's tongue being pulled out and a close-up scalping.

5) "Blood Freak" (early 70s) -- Christian guy smokes weed and turns into a murderous turkey monster.

Now I need to go rent "I Spit On Your Grave" again...

"Oh baby...that feels so good it hurts!"

Best. Movie. Ever.

The sequels were hysterical, too. But totally different. Much more intentional camp than the first.

Sometimes I simply can't tell X-E and I-Mockery apart.

This is one of those times.
