Beatdown!

Reesing taking every snap and having time to throw six TDs tells me that maybe Mangino doesn't like the Huskers that much.

As a Mizzou alum, I'm torn. On the one hand, KU sucks, but on the other hand, any time Nebraska gets torn a new cornhole in football is good times.

Least this sealed Callahan's fate.

Well, there were all those years that Nebraska would run up scores against other teams, one of them being Kansas.

And I hope no one comes in here and says that Nebraska didn't run up scores in their heyday, because they did.

Saying that scoring 60, 70, or even more points is an accident is bullshiat.

That kid that started at QB for NU really tore us up with those passes down the middle today.

Most points ever against Nebraska.

I'm a Notre Dame fan but even I feel bad for Nebraska fans. I mean hell, we were SUPPOSED to suck this year. but Nebraska....wtf is going on!

Though on the other hand, I applaud Kansas for running up the score on Neb. I remember when Nebraska used to just THRASH little teams in the 90s and run up the score constantly. Nebraska finally got what they'd deserved.

2007-11-03 09:48:51 PM
Mangino has really turned that program around. You gotta give that to him.

2007-11-03 09:49:35 PM
Nebraska used to run the ball every play...the other team knew it was coming, and they still couldn't stop them. That's why they'd score big.

Do we have to sit through two more games of Calahan? Can't we just shiatcan him now? He doesn't belong as coach of a high school team, much less a program like this.

As a KSU fan, all I can say is if you have a chance to hang 100 on Nebraska you go for it. Congrats KU.

KU definitely is a good team this year. Not great yet, but good. Not having OU or UT on the schedule has helped, but the last two weeks winning at A&M and now blowing the doors off Nebraska is good stuff. All that's left is the big showdown against Mizzou (in which I think KU wins) and then a trip to the Big XII title game to play OU (most likely). Those two games will tell if KU is good or great. I'm going to go with just good but then I'm just a bitter KSU fan. :)

DOes Callahan recruit straight from JuCo's?

Mizzou is up 55-10 right now AT Colorado. This Arrowhead showdown is going to be spectacular.

Right now, I honestly think that Missouri is better than Kansas, although Kansas is sort of a sentimental favorite for me if they stay unbeaten up until that game (just because they have an outside shot at a national championship if they win out; you'd have to do the math of them beating two top ten teams and then having Boston College and either Oregon or LSU losing...if it came in that much biatched-about SEC Championship game, that would be just great, which obviously isn't likely, but this season has been nothing if not absolutely crazy).

I am an Iowa fan, but since they were out of the picture in week two or so, I mainly just root for chaos now.

Probably true, but in fairness, the offense put up a decent total of points... Man, that was a weird game though, 48 - 24 at halftime!

Anyways good luck to the Jayhawks. I hope they can stay undefeated and win it all.

I could be wrong, but I think that a lot of it is also the players just quitting. Yes, I'm sure that they are quitting because of the "I'm the smartest guy in this time zone" attitudes of Callahan and company, but nonetheless, they are acting like prima donnas and quitting.

You don't allow 76 points in major conference Division I-A football when you're giving 100% effort.

Never.

/Has hated Nebraska since diapers.
//Grudgingly agree that this isn't right.

Congrats to KU. I personally hope they win the big 12 north and go to a bowl game undefeated. I wish they could play for the BCS champ spot, but they will get farked out of that game.

As for my team. Callahan is gone. Cosgrove is gone. That pathetic excuse for a strength and conditioning coach is gone. As old and out of shape as I am I could still play better D than Nebraska. At least I learned how to tackle.

What we see on the field now are 11 individuals hoping to make a play for themselves so they can get a shot at the NFL. That's how Callahan recruited them. He must just assume they learned all the fundamentals they would ever need in high school.

Telling the kid to "try harder" is not coaching. You know what I mean Cosgrove. Hang your head in shame and get the hell outta my football program.

/a guy on a local radio station said "I'm a Husker and Raider fan. Callahan ruined both of those teams. Now he's gonna get fired and with my luck he will go to my old high school and ruin that team too."

You know it's ironic, this KU win actually makes me more nervous about KU's remaining schedule just because of the way the D played, or rather didn't play. Yeah 4 picks but most of those were with that Nebraska QB just throwing up garbage. There's no way the D can play that badly against OSU an hope to win, let alone Mizzou. OSU will go a long way to telling you how Mizzou/KU will go, here's hoping.

Side note: That Nebraska QB looked pretty damn good at times. Assuming both Ganz and Lucky are back next year they could have a pretty good offense. Whomever they get to replace Callahan will be an upgrade, it wouldn't surprise me if the rebounded as early as next year.

Which is funny because they put up such a good showing against Texas last week. Although the offense definitely showed up, the D just didn't.

YeahbuWHAT?

Look, this isn't that hard.

UT barely handled Central Florida, squeaked by Nebraska, got punked by K-State, and beat Baylor by 3 touchdowns.

KU beat K-State, creamed Nebraska, beat Baylor by 5 touchdowns, and creamed all of their non-conference opponents.

KU is better, yes, I said better than UT this year.

KU's defense isn't as bad as the score looks when you consider how many times KU kicked the ball to them. Nebraska still knows how to score.

Just admit your tougher games are still ahead.

That's pretty much par for the course for a Callahan-led team. The man is a motivational black hole.
