Starryeyes: JPINFV: Farking Massholes. Now I've got all you dim wits driving down the street honking your horns. It's surprising they even work after using them all day because the car in front of you didn't start moving 0.005 seconds after the light changed green [ignoring the 5 cars in front of it, of course]. Hell, it's worse here than the traffic in Southern California. I hate this farking state [p.s. your roads suck] and can't wait till I finish grad school to leave.

FARK YOU BOSTON.

P.S. Your liquor laws suck also. Why the fark do you limit alcohol sales so much and why can't I use my farking California driver's license to purchase some in most places? Mother farking nanny state.

someone's bitter and can't drive...

Yea, I can't drive because I don't constantly honk my horn or make left turns from the center lane. Yep, that's it.

/me wonders how many people in Boston can claim 6 years with out an accident
//only been driving 6 years, 99% of it in California

Well played all. Just a farking shame I have an early morning meeting tomorrow.

A-ROWNED. For most of the duration of the game, the biggest sports story was what Boras revealed during the game. I hear he left Cashman a voicemail to tell him, the equivalent of breaking up a 4-year relationship with a voicemail. Boras is a dick.

A-Rod will secretly regret this decision, knowing that in the end he'll probably gain only $15-20 million career total for not sticking with the Yanks. (a 5% difference) He just let his agent tell him what to do, and got screwed. Unless he signs with the Sox (which would make him the next Roger Clemens), he won't finish with a ring. The Yankees, in the meantime, have a great chance to go all-the-way in each of the next 3-4 years. And their chances are better every time they let one of those 2002-2005 mega-free-agent contracts walk. The Yankees could use less Johnny Damon and more Scott Brosius.

Boston was a good team this year and the team just capped off a great year; sadly their fans are insufferable every year, of course. For the fans' suffering, I hope Henry was talking to Boras on his Blackberry the whole game. A-Rod would be a great player for them, but his contract would cost them dearly and he'll still be hitting .150 in the clutch/postseason.

Rockies got lucky, outplaying themselves until they ran into the Sox. The NL is a mess. The rivalry among the top two teams in the AL East is, 100% of the time, more interesting than the entire NL, save for the perpetual pain of the Cubs.

Watching the Pats run up the score for the seventh week in a row was more fun to watch than the entire WS.

Hulkhands' kinda-serious prophecies, from Wednesday the 24th:

- Beckett pitches 2 wins, 1 to 3 ER total, gets WS MVP. Half-check
- Well-rested Schilling wins game 2. Check
- During the day off, all talk is about "Rox Reeling" and Yankees manager meetings. Check (new window) and Check (new window)
- Ortiz gets at least 1 pinch hit in the Colorado games.
- Dice-K gets a hit in game 3 and looks funny in a batting helmet. Check-plus
- No idea what will happen in game 4, but McCarver will remind us once more that he "Sure hopes Okajima doesn't get hit with a ball off the bat."

I did okay

The city of Boston has it pretty good right now:

The Red Sox have won 2 of the last 4 World Series.

The Patriots are undefeated and are on pace to shatter the league record for points scored, average points per game and QB rating.

The Boston College Eagles are undefeated and #2 in the nation. Matt Ryan is a Heisman candidate.

The Celtics are expected to be a major contender for the NBA title.

The Bruins are over .500 10 games in!

Did you notice what Varitek was doing between catching the third strike and hugging Papelbon? As he was running to the mound he took the ball out of his glove and stuck it securely in his back pocket.

As much as I like all Boston teams, now every article Bill Simmons writes will involve him, his father, and his best friend only talking about Boston teams.

And how is that any different from how he writes now?

Just because my s.o. asked how old Bobby Kielty and I had to wiki it:

Robert Michael ("Bobby") Kielty (last name pronounced KELT-E) (born August 5, 1976) is an American born outfielder with the Boston Red Sox. He is one of few baseball players who bat without the use of batting gloves. He is also a major ginger, like seriously, there is nobody more red-haired and freckly-faced than Bobby Kielty. And he hit a home run in the 2007 World Series, Game 4, it was the game winning home run, it is the highlight of his career (new window).

/couldn't screencap it, but if someone would, I'm sure Eric Cartman would like to see his handiwork.
