Oh boy, another teenager related flamefest.

I'm a teenager. I don't drink and have never touched drugs.

Morons like the people who think it's cool to come to school drunk or high give us a bad name.

2002-10-02 10:37:25 AM
Strange... back when I was in school it was the teachers who showed up hung over. And there was the mechanical arts teacher who had a van that opened up like the one in Fast Times At Ridgemont High...

Now they were attending weekend parties where they drank with the specific aim of getting drunk, he said

Well what the hell is the point of drinking if it's not to get drunk? Asshat.

2002-10-02 11:25:34 AM
Hardest part of my Mondays too.

2002-10-02 11:25:57 AM
It is the standard cycle of drinking....
Boy, drinking is fun, I'll get blasted...
Boy, drinking is ok, I'll get buzzed...
Boy, drinking is standard... I'll have 1 beer...

They are just covering the ground a little early

2002-10-02 11:26:14 AM
Dinking with the specific aim of getting drunk? Even drinking during the week?

OHMYGOD!!! It's a new scourge of teenage alcoholism!

Oh, wait. I did that when I was in high school. More than 20 years ago. So did my older brothers. As did, I'm sure, teenagers throughout history.

Fig Bucking Deal.

2002-10-02 11:26:39 AM
And when interviewed, the students said the hardest part of going to school on mondays was answering the teacher when you have cottonmouth.

Davemak

It is possible, you know, to drink IN MODERATION. Alcohol can relax you without getting you plastered.

Does "drinking responsibly" mean nothing to you?

I believe it is YOU who are the asshat.

Must be that imported Norwegian beaver keeping kids up on Sunday nights. Oh I'm sorry, this is New Zealand.

2002-10-02 11:27:11 AM
I used to get well stoned before school... and during school and after school for that matter, but I still turned out pretty well edumacated.

2002-10-02 11:27:28 AM
must have done the research at my old high school.

2002-10-02 11:27:43 AM
i'll have to agree with that. the hardest part about teaching (college students) is mondays when they're all headachey and biatchy. we grad students like to booze on the weekends, too, so it's equally a pain in the ass to have to put up them.

biatches. take some aspirin and shut the fark up.

:)

2002-10-02 11:30:31 AM
Kids today have alot of catching up to do. Why, when I was teenager, we drank in the damned parking lot of the school!

2002-10-02 11:30:32 AM
These kids today, with their "Rock and Roll" music and roller skates. Pff. Buncha hooligans.

2002-10-02 11:32:04 AM
i f3AR for my daughter....

2002-10-02 11:32:11 AM
C'mon... Look at the honorable (koff) GWB, who was a drinker and a cokehead, and he grew up to be installed as pResident!

This "moderation" stuff is for pussies. If you wanna grow up to BE somebody, you better start drinking and snorting, Mister!

2002-10-02 11:32:53 AM
I would think that the hardest part of teaching would be taking your head out of your ass each morning. It's not as if most of those teachers could teach themselves out of a paperbag, why should the kids bother to show up? Hell, being drunk probably makes it easier to get through it.

2002-10-02 11:34:15 AM
Ohh...one more thing.

I'm sure next week the teachers will be back to the old line of "the hardest part of teaching is dodging all of the bullets on Mondays."

2002-10-02 11:34:50 AM
Well, those of you already drinking and doing drugs, keep up the good work!! Nobody likes a quitter.

2002-10-02 11:35:07 AM
i personally always took sunday off from boozing for those exact reasons. who wants to go to class hung over?

now i just have to come up with an excuse on why thursday was always my biggest drinking night my freshman year in college...especially since i had an 8am PERCUSSION class on friday morning.

i'm talking out of my ass.

2002-10-02 11:36:55 AM
I know that when I get up for class on Monday's its funny to see the difference in people cause on Friday they're all ready and prettied up to pick someone up at the bar right after class. On monday they're all ugly.

I'm easily amused though.

1) High school teachers are friggin ignorant.
2) They're probably lobbying through their union to get mondays off and this is their reason.
3) Got drunk and high in high school just to be able to think down to the level of most of my 'teachers'.

2002-10-02 11:44:22 AM
When I was in my church's worship band, the hardest part was definitely showing up and playing hung over. And high. Have you ever tried to improvise a flute line for "Our God is and Awesome God" high and hung over? I thought not.

What's a hypocrite?

2002-10-02 11:47:22 AM
Hmmm...I woulda' thought the hard part for teachers was when their students were jonesin.

2002-10-02 11:47:32 AM
around the office especially during football season monday call in's are referred to as "brown bottle flu" i think i had it monday

What the fark is with all the teacher bashing?

Again, the Fark Elitist Brigade is out en force.

"Most of my teachers were so dumb... blah blah blah"

Teachers have shiatty jobs and get paid shiatty amounts of money to do said shiatty job. That's why you don't see geniuses teaching in most public schools. You see people of relative intelligence AND the desire to try to help kids. It's after they find out that life sucks on 26k/year that they become jaded.

2002-10-02 11:50:59 AM
You anti-teacher asshats should try it some time.

Alto_reed_on_a_tenor_sax, getting high and doing Christian stuff hardly makes you a hypocrite, just take a look at rastas, Jah loves them and they're permanently stoned. And if getting ratarsed on booze is wrong, why is it given to people in communion? And Jesus must have been a bit of an alcoholic, to want to change water to wine all the time.

2002-10-02 11:58:14 AM
10-minute cigarette breaks every hour -- what a great gig!

2002-10-02 11:59:21 AM
My god, the kids these days....

I never drank in high school. I still went to the parties though. They were in fields. I think it was more fun to stay sober and watch everyone else be a moron. The first time I actually participated was graduation night and that was with like one zima. Yes, zima. Of course, everyone else in my high school was a big alchie. Our SADD chapter was the biggest joke. Ah, memories...

Seriously though, most kids really are asses. Especially the teens. I have much respect for anyone who can teach and keep them in line.

2002-10-02 11:59:44 AM
Mmm, I only drank on Fridays and Saturdays in high school, ocassional football games, but none the less I was never drunk at school.
But college, crap, I'm surprised I havent been dropped from my Friday classes from all my absences. Sometimes it's just hard to get class at 8 am when you're in someone else's apartment lying on the bathroom floor with soem guy named Vince whom you've never met before.
Not that this happened to me or anything.

2002-10-02 12:01:35 PM
Ratbert

Where did you go to school? We had 4 minutes between classes at my high school. Of course that was back in the day....

2002-10-02 12:02:24 PM
Alto_reed_on_a_tenor_sax: Heck, Jesus' blood magically turns into wine when you drink it. Unless you're a Baptist - then it turns into grape juice.

Sigh. It's a symbol ya idiot.

Some drank up to a bottle of spirits at the weekend.

Those pussies. They should be drinking 2-3 bottles of spirits on the weekend.

That's why god invented asprin and sunglasses.

"Ten years ago third form students would not have been talking about alcohol," he said.

I say we should ban videogames. They're the source of all evil, y'know.

I think of all the education that I missed.

But then my homework was never quite like this!

Dear EQAddict,

I'm assuming your name means Ever Quest addict, and Ever Quest is as addictive as any drug. I know, I'm a recovering EQ addict. I'm just glad EQ wasn't around until after I finished college, otherwise I'd never have graduated.

2002-10-02 12:20:47 PM
"Ten years ago third form students would not have been talking about alcohol,"

Well, there's a reason we call it High School up in the
states*bad-joke-snicker*.

"Well what the hell is the point of drinking if it's not to get drunk? Asshat."

To make it seem like you're getting plastered so the girl
lying next to you in the morning doesn't follow through with
rape charges. This, of course, also has the side-benefit of
making sure other women-of-that-age aren't pissed off at you
because, hey...you were so wasted.

"da da da"

2002-10-02 12:22:21 PM
EQAddict Ease up, buddy, it's called sarcasm. And I assume most teens today don't drink to "loosen up", they drink to get wasted (like we all did when we were teens). The immortal phase and all.

2002-10-02 12:25:59 PM
i think these teachers should just be happy the kids aren't drinking in the parking lot or on the bus on the way to school. a couple of weeks ago a girl, about 90lbs i'd say,(very bulemic, sp?) drank a fifth of jack daniels on the bus on the way to school. gets to school very drunk. goes into the nurse's office and passes out. they had to call the rescue squad and take her to the hospital for a few days.
everyone needs to realize drinking before school isn't cool. its only cool to drink or get high before, or during in my case, a football, basketball, ect. game.

2002-10-02 12:29:13 PM
i just love it when people say "its more fun to not drink and watch everyone else who is drunk!". you can always tell these people have never been drunk before.

2002-10-02 12:31:47 PM
I never drank in high school... I just wasn't around it and didn't really want to be. Most of my friends didn't either, so there wasn't the 'peer pressure' factor. The friends that did drink didn't do it around me.

Of course, I made up for those years sobriety once I got to college... but um, yeah. Just Say No.

2002-10-02 12:34:19 PM
indeed Runin800m, there's only one thing worse than being drunk in sober company and that's being sober in drunk company

2002-10-02 12:37:55 PM
i remember being drunk at school as being one of the worst experiences i ever had. When you're drunk the last thing you want to do is sit in the same spot while some teacher rambles off a lecture. As if school wasn't boring enough already..

never understood the kids that thought it was fun to go off campus during lunch and come back drunk..
