(Galactica Station)   No, really. NBC may air "Battlestar Galactica" to fill gaps left by the impending writers' strike. Oh yeah, this move may wind up delaying the end of Season 4 'til 2009   (galactica-station.blogspot.com) divider line 43

The writer's strike would delay Season 4 production, not NBC's possible decision to air BSG in the event of the strike.

I am SO tired of BSG reruns.

2007-10-24 03:12:56 PM
Hell no! The wait for Season 4 has been too long already. They better not strike.

The series was ALREADY going to end in 2009 because Sci-Fi doesn't want to loose its golden boy. Therefore, they're splitting season 4 again, only this time airing half in Jan 2008 and half in Jan 2009.

Oh, and they're giving us another season of Stargate Atlantis, but they won't greenlight the BSG prequil series Caprica's pilot. Not the series, the PILOT.

Oh, and their third highest rated show of all this year, The Dresden Files? Shiatcanned because even though it was pulling BSG level numbers in the ratings, it was pulling a female 30-something demographic rather than male teen to 20-something.

And they decided to keep the bastardization of ECW around for another year.

I can has new executives pleez?

I thought Ron Moore and David Eick (BSG producers) hadn't 'fessed up to whatever SciFi's hairbrain plans for BSG supposedly are.

/still keeping hope that we'll see more first-run BSG before Britney Spears gives birth again

HBO or Showtime could use a good space show.

Just imagine the possibilities. No need to say "Frak," no need for cut-away violence, no problems with sexuality.

2007-10-24 04:04:30 PM
Why don't they give Dr Who a chance in prime time. It could catch on, and then we could get a deal with the BBC for simulcasting future seasons.

It could also increase the budget, so that not every goddamn episode has to be set in f**kin' Whales!

The TARDIS travels in time AND SPACE, dammit!

FRAK!

Nah, they say frak, while Ron Moore says fark all the time in his podcasts. Well, the unfiltered, genuine draft version of it. Perfectly acceptable.

Huge time between seasons - not so much.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I like the show, but really, even an executive for HBO should be able to see the cash cow something akin to Firefly would bring in for the network.

Instead, I get to watch some revamped version of Thirtysomething.

Seeing them that way on UniversalHD. Pretty awesome.

thankyou...I sometimes forgot what unbelievably luscious babes that show has.....oh, plot/story/acting great as well, but I wouldn't do to Boomer over, and over, and over, and over, and over again....

I have tried to get a Galactica thread green-lit 3 times in the last week. I guess I wasn't pithy enough.

Anyway, the miniseries that they are putting on the Sci-Fi website is amazing, IMO.

The first two were set-up, the third is completely full of win (pops)

Ep 4, airing Friday, is rumored to be dripping with goodness.

Gods frakkin' dammit, those writers better not strike!

The only way this could possibly be good is if NBC picks it up and the ratings are high enough to convince Ron Moore and Co. to add on a Season 5. And it doesn't turn out to be Galactica 1980: the next generation.

Mini-episodes, not miniseries. That's Galactica: Razor, around Thankgiving.

Yeah, I had not expected to see a full-fledged bad-ass space battle in the mini-episodes. They've packed in a lot of good stuff in about 10 minutes so far.

Is it more of a Jonah thing or a Pinocchio thing, you know, every episode taking place inside a whale.
I am not sure how that saves money on a budget.
I would think that would be a little pricey.

I don't know if Galactica will go away after next season...I'm sure they'll produce something like a NG, for less money, re-use the shot footage etc...

2007-10-24 07:46:34 PM
it will be amusing to see how many people think BSG is a brand-new show.

2007-10-24 07:52:02 PM
Weren't the web-only mini-episodes of BSG from last year one of the reasons for the strike?

2007-10-24 08:25:45 PM
It would be great if NBC did this, but they must start from the beginning, starting with the mini series.

2007-10-24 08:27:00 PM
Hopefully they've already got some of Season 4 in the Can.

That's right, I said Can. huh uh huh uh

I think I've seen all 3 seasons of BSG, but it's been so long I can't remember a damn thing about it. Just that all the hot chicks on the show are really evil robots who listen to Jimi Hendrix or something. And some fat guy named Apollo. Wait...there's space ships involved right?

Too late. Moore's Galactica: 1980 is called Season 3.

Which was so awful they had to bring the old-school Cylons back for Razor and Season 4.

I would be for this if it means I can watch BSG in HD.

Does Sci-Fi already have an HD channel? I know my cable co doesn't carry it. Seems strange that they wouldn't.
