(Boston Globe)   Apparently the terrorists aren't enjoying as much success generating news these days so it's time for the press to help them out   (boston.com) divider line 78

Another Bhutto Bumper Sticker blast? Has anyone examined the video? Setup most likely by Bhutto herself to get sympathy.

Fearmongering from the left is as bad as fearmongering from the right. Seriously though, do you think Al Qaeda has any trained entomologists working on this kind of thing? Hell, do they have any nuclear physicists working on dirty bombs? Not to disparage the Arabs, but these guys are not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed. C'mon, they believe they'll be rewarded with virgins in heaven for blowing themselves up, fer cryin' out loud.

The Gulf State Arabs are a bunch of pampered babies used to getting their asses wiped by indentured Filipinos. I doubt there are dozen of 'em with the work ethic to make it through an advanced physics (or entomology) degree. The intensity is there in poorer Arab countries, but access to higher education is limited and the potential pool of nuclear physicists is already over here making money hand over fist. I admit the Arab doctors involved in the London bombings are an exception to the rule, but in the absence of news reports about stacks of radioactive Arab corpses turning up in Ann Arbor, I sincerely doubt the possibility of a homemade nuclear terror device (or for that matter, bioengineered terror weapons). They might be able to buy one on the black market, but build one? No. Box cutters and hijacked airplanes are more their style.

There has been an argument flying around for years the West Nile Virus was intentionally released in the U.S. by Saddam Hussein.
These rumors date to the time of the first Gulf War. Coincidental or not West Nile Virus emerged in the U.S. at just about the same time the Gulf War ended. Fortunately the strain here in the States is far weaker than the Egyptian strain.

That's it. It's over! As the official referee of the "War on Terror" I proclaim the Terrorists to be the winner by unanimous (my) decision. No more can any citizen of this pitiful nation blow their nose or cross the street without the fear of an attack by the Terrorist's mythical forces.

Congratulations!

A small group of men and women in robes introduced an insidious parasite into the White House, and as a result, thousands have died so far.

Cristian lunatics meet their Muslim breathren.

Bush Jr. has motivated a whole new generation of people to scheme and execute plans against the U.S.A. Just like the generation of Osama Bin Laden set up by Bush Sr.& Reagan by the CIA in the 1980's in Afghanistan that came back to bite the US in the ass in the World Trade Center destruction.

Like Father like Son, no one ever learns a lesson, and history repeats itself... too bad everyone else except the "deciders" suffer the consequences.

you're full of crap, you know that. the radical islamists were picking off easy targets before Bush got in office. the embassy bombings in Africa were horrifically cruel and kills upwards to 2 thousand. That happened under Clinton's watch. So really, you're being a dishonest douche. Glad I could set you straight. You see Bush inspired the military to push back mightily against this pop culture radicalism. Unchecked you bet your ass the general population of muslims get behind the vicious youth and their terror lords. Why? Scared.

and proud. the psychopaths wrap themselves with indisputed word of god religion. They got the guilt grip on the populace too. And quite a bit of pride in seeing their youth "blow up so fast". Nothing to do loser secieties with hate on the brain. Rx? Push back hard. You owe Bush and the military a debt of gratitude and it's not over yet by a long shot.

Sure, their entire propaganda campaign.

Are you suggesting that the First Amendment covers the deliberate dissemination of enemy propaganda? "Tokyo Rose" might want to have a word with you...for that matter, so might Julius and Ethel Rosenberg WRT the distribution of classified information.

So did Tom Clancy help Terrorists when he wrote "Debt of Honor" and will he have helped them more with "Executive Decision"? (not to mention his other books)

Meh, you GWOT cowards got nothing. I know more ways to kill people through a basic US education, not to mention college. I guess we should outlaw learning next.

Keep'em stupid, keep'em afraid. Fear, it's the GWOT coward's excuse. America has been a target for hostile intentions since her founding, that's not about to change anytime soon. Grow a farking spine and deal with that fact. I mean, really, where did we forget "Give me Liberty, or Give me Death!"

If you GWOT cowards want to live on your knees, feel free to do so, but do it elsewhere. I demand my freedom, and am willing to die with it. Why don't you all move to a nice safe country where the Nanny State will protect you from all evil people and thoughts? The Founders must be weeping at how fearful we have become. Not to mention how far we've strayed from the principle they fought to give us: Freedom.

I loved the way people in (media and others) were running around after 9/11 saying, "There's no way anyone could have foreseen using a commercial jetliner as a weapon!" Um, dude, I read that book a couple of years ago...

Be careful what you say when you call people spineless cowards for believing that there is a GWOT going on. Some of us close with and engage with the enemy nightly and see what they are capable of.

Education only matters a little. Experience helps a lot also. Plus training from Hezbellah and Quds Forces.

On a side note I am truly surprised not to have seen any IED's of any type show up in the USA yet. It doesn't take much money or eduction to rig a few up and really lock down a city with panic.
Do i live in fear and panic? No. But I do realize that our enemies are smarter then they appear. 9/11 is the best show case for that.

That was less a demonstration of smarts than mere cunning with a dash of luck.

The terrorists know that the next major attack on US soil will result in the wholesale deportation of Middle Easterners from this country. I mean, what choice will we have? They want to make sure the next one counts. That's why you haven't seen any "minor" attacks to speak of. Also, it's costing us billions of dollars to maintain readiness against attacks. It costs them exactly zero to sit tight and do nothing. They're rather enjoying that.

Solution: round up and deport them all now. Future generations will wonder why we were willing to give up our own liberties while scrupulously maintaining the rights of people who want to destroy us.
