Ra_: blah blah blah.. psychic vampires.. blah blah

You keep on using that term. I do not think it means what you think it means.

From Anton La Vey:
NOT ALL VAMPIRES SUCK BLOOD!
"Many people who walk the earth practice the fine art of making others feel responsible and even indebted to them, without cause. Satanism observes these leeches in their true light...
...If you think you may be the victim of such a person, there are a few simple rules which will help you form a decision, Is there a person you often call or visit, even though you really don't want to, because you know you will feel guilty if you don't? Or, do you find yourself constantly doing favors for one who doesn't come forward and ask, but hints? Often the psychic vampire will use reverse psychology, saying "Oh, I couldn't ask you to do that" - and you, in turn, insist upon doing it.
The psychic vampire never demands anything of you - that would be far too presumptuous. They simply let their wishes be known in subtle ways which will prevent them from being considered pests. They "wouldn't think of imposing" and are always content to willingly accept their lot, without the slightest complaint-outwardly! Their sins are not of commission, but of omission. It's what they don't say, not what they do say, that makes you feel you must account to them."

They could shiat in a can and still get you guys to argue over it.

Sounds like good business to me.

This assumes you have to watch the video before arguing.

I'll wait until I read a "Wow, this FarkTV episode is actually funny!" thread before I click on a Super Deluxe link.

Same thing - always handy to have multiple words for these things.

A Britspeak alternative (or perhaps only Scotspeak, not sure) is "barse" - between bollocks and arse.

Although the 'favor askers' that La Vey condemns are indeed psyche sapping
I disregard most of what he has to say.
Ironic that he should brand someone as a Leech,
when his dogma consists of rationalization for his own parasitic philosophy.

I have more respect for the clowns that actually believe in Satan,
than in La Vey

Ra_: These people could produce great material.
Here you have the opportunity to maybe contribute to that
but some people are too bitter and impotent to do more than dismiss it.

..And my next-door neighbour's cat could suddenly spontaneously combust, but that doesn't mean it's likely to happen.

Firstly, I know that many farkers work on creative projects, either for a living or in their spare time, but most people also like to keep their 'real-life' separate from their 'fark-life,' so you'll not get many takers (aside from photoshops and audio-edits, both of which seem to contain around 400% more WIN than FarkTV / SuckDeluxe).

Secondly, Drew / Fark TV have already admitted that they don't read the comments (which is - somewhat - the point of Fark), so you can safely assume that any biatching herein is for the amusement of the audience, as the Fark TV ppl aren't reading.

Thirdly, some of us had some dim hope that FarkTV would exist to showcase some of the humour and talent found in the Fark community. Instead, it just exists to make us all look bad. Don't expect us to be happy about this.

Fourthly, are you a protege of Sunny Ray?

2007-10-17 04:22:44 PM
This is maybe the 3rd FarkTV thing that I've viewed.
The one constant that I've noticed, is the swarm of useless whiny cocksuckers
who rush to chime in about how much it sucks,
sometimes not even bothering to view the latest offering.

This is an opportunity to give input to this cast
and have Britney and Kevin become our dancing monkeys
but it's impossible for it to evolve into anything good,
because of all you crybaby biatches.

You are the kind of useless turds who don't have an ounce of creativity yourself.
All your lame act consists of, is loudly shiatting on the efforts of others.

The next asshole that criticises this, let us see something of your creativity too.

Since I'm creative, I feel I can freely offer this criticism: it annoys me for its inane lack of creativity.

Hey, was your post trying to be ironic? I mean really ironic - not 'fark ironic.'

It's like someone is reenacting assignments turned in by their high-school theater students. Is one of these guys a teacher??? I bet his students are pissed at the plagiarism.

Actually, if opinions are truly paid fair attention in forums, I thought the production values and comic timing were excellent and showed great promise. I only know of the existence of farkTV and not it's regular content, yet found this to be cleverly assembled, well scripted, and obviously created-after-the-fact production, but that's what happens when you direct topical satire with low-resources. You need TIME to do it, and often, to do it well.

My personal experience with film is little more than familiarity, yet did work as a camera operator years ago, and learned that most companies are so overwhelmed by the creation process (filming, costs associated etc.) they have difficulty seeing the disconnected points in plot and timing or completely resign to gaping holes/bad jokes in the storyline altogether.

Rule #1: Limit one liners. Adults don't want to BE the main character anymore, s/he should just be believable. Except Ahhhnold Shwar Schwarz... You know who. Ask anyone. Even for an Austrian, he talks funny.

You guys are on the right track, and please hurry. Even Jon Stewart's skirting the politician's line a little too closely for my tastes. I hope he stays genuine.

Creative comedy is hard to generate past our own filters, much less survive the final touches where certain jokes are omitted according to who's at the helm. Over time, it can dissolve even the best of teams. Whatever process you're using now, is working.

Extra kudos to cast, the worker's deadpan delivery was priceless. (and to anyone willing to 'sculpt' in that chin-strap goatee) ;o) Please tell me it was Henna!(sp)

Thanks for watching. I was first thinking that you were talking about the other girl (the brown-haired girl, not holding the sign), as she is studying to become a professional actress.

I take it the one you were talking about is the black-haired girl saying "Morans untie!" She's also in The Reunion, the Revolution, Hell House, and Just Say No to Vernon Robinson. She also does some voice work in the Study Abroad PSA.

But also watch "I Don't Wanna Do this Work," because it's awesome.

Bad music satires get old fast.
I think you should actually get the chick a drum and let her keep a real beat

Is it just a coincidence that Fark hasn't had a VideoEdit contest since before FarkTV began? Are Drew and his gang just afraid that the stuff that random Farkers make will put to shame his latest "Let's make fun of easy-target celebrities...again!" video?

Anyone on Fark knows that Ronin, and probably myself can and already have made way funnier shiat than this.

But why do they keep making FarkTV? My guess: Making silly videos is just really fun to do. I'd assume that Drew and his pals just enjoy making them.

And possibly the only thing more fun than making silly videos is getting people to watch them. Fark gives Drew an outlet that assures he will get a few thousand views per video, even if no one actually enjoys them.

In conclusion: Bring back VideoEdits!

/never got to really make a video for a Fark VideoEdit.

Super Deluxe? Fail of the highest order yet you continue to post this crap day after day. No one cares. No one likes it. I know you just want a certain number of clicks so you can sell it at whatever disgusting price you sell ads for.

Ra_: I just made that one video/song because the class assignment required that I do both. Believe me, I would have certainly picked a pre-made song if I had the choice. Also, the professor wasn't really concerned with exact audio quality, and I thought the buckets were a good joke.

I've often considered going into music video making, but I'm going to get myself established in the industry and my student loan debts paid off before I try anything real big. But if I get the chance, I might make a few of those artists a video if I get the chance.

/Thanks for the feedback.
//Actually, all of those videos were made as class assignments. Specifically what the assignment was is listed in the video description.

My last point, though why I'm replying to Ra_'s trolls I'm not entirely sure, is:

Anyone who has done anything creative and released it to the wider world knows that harsh criticism is par for the course, and also knows not to take it too seriously. Though you may have invested a large amount of time on your project, to your potential audience you are another demand on their time, competing with an entire world of cultural artifacts, activities, etc. for their precious attention. Their investment is often that they forego something familiar and enjoyable to give your a chance. That's a big responsibility.

Also, there's no better feeling than proving your critics wrong - especially people who tell you something is impossible.

That the folks behind FarkTV should be commended for aiming high in what is, I assume, their first attempt at making and sustaining such a show is not in question. That doesn't mean, however, that they have succeeded.

2007-10-17 05:30:57 PM
Who, of all posters, actually clicked on that link? Me.
Who, of all clickers, watched the link in its entirety? Me. Admittedly in the background.
Who, without a drool cup and a cork on their fork, actually watched Super Deluxe videos? Nope. I'm a single-clicker. If it's too deep, I re-evaluate if an unknown is worth chasing.

Who watched any of these and thus is qualified (in opinion) to comment on the material given? Well, that's what being informed is all about.

I enjoy your opinions, but to admit you haven't even seen the material, is akin to admitting you have no interest in the topic at hand. Just regurgitating a negative viewpoint without merit.

And whinners will build losing ideas! Sweet! Someone should make a video demonstrating that.

This whole thing reminds me of being in middle-school and not getting why most guys my age thought farting was funny. It was a fart. It happens. Yet, they continued to fart and laughed hysterically each time.

Even though I was a youngster (onion fastened to belt) I never understood why that was funny. Perhaps because it is not funny?

If FARK's target audience is middle-schoolers, you may want to rethink Foobies. If not, you may want to rethink the childish wet-dreams that lead to disasters like said video.
