I noticed that when Coulter made her comment about Jews, that got major airtime on CNN and NBC, but when it came out that Hillary was using Sandy Berger as an adviser, around the same time, that story was virtually ignored by these media conglomerates. Just as the original story about what Berger did, hilariously stupid and funny though it was, got relatively little press.

Coulter's comment was dumb, but not really all that controversial and definitely not antisemitic. if you are a serious Christian you believe things that Jews don't believe, and vice-versa - Jews would never equate their religion to Christianity, that would be denying their beliefs. She has a way of saying things that is maximally offensive, but that's what gets her airtime. But she is a minor commentator who hasn't been involved in anything related to government in years. It just shows again how lefties have taken over the older mainstream media outlets.

Christians are supposed to believe that God made a 'new covenant' when Jesus died, embracing anyone who believed in Jesus and followed his teachings. The idea that Jews are exclusively "God's Chosen People" now is not consistent with mainstream Christian teaching and philosophy.

What is so dumb about the reaction to Coulter is that, if you ask an practicing Jew what a Christian is, he might honestly say "a follower of a Jew who strayed from Judaism who has false beliefs". And so what? It's a religious belief, just like Coulter's.

On the other hand she went too far by saying that we'd be better off if we were all Christian. Not only is it a dumb thing to say, it needs explaining. Since Christianity is an evangelical religion, of course Christians would be happier if all Americans converted to her religion. Does that mean "better"? I dunno. Again, though, I think she was just being honest based upon her religious belief.
