We need a Fark campaign to have dillhole photographers and writers punished for putting up a story about a picture and not including the picture, or in this case, a photo of the guy zoomed out too far to see the tattoo. I mean, am I the only one that wants to slap them about the head and face with a trout? It's just ign'ant and shoddy, and it happens aaaallllll the time.

I'm pretty sure that neither the photographer nor the writer chooses which pic they post on the web page.

Better than that, we need to 86 headlines that make blatent falsehoods about corresponding link.

There was no reference to a Pat Robertson tatoo in TFA.

What kind of moron would let somebody scribble that crap on his arm permanently?

30 years from now, nobody is going to even remember who Pat Robertson was, yet you'll still have that amateur artwork still on your arm.

What the school is doing is setting this kid up to roll him. He'd better get his lawyer in line because this "counselor" they set him up with-even if he doesn't go-is gonna ship this kid to Gitmo.

I was thinking about getting a tattoo. What does the Bible say about doing these things?

From an old grandfather, if one of my granddaughters comes through with a tattoo, she's got a lot of trouble. No, seriously, the Bible does talk about scarring and marring of the body and cutting the body. These are pagan customs, and the Bible condemns it. All these scars, you look in pagan cultures, they cut themselves. They leave great scars in their bodies. And usually it was a scarring to indicate their allegiance to some pagan deity. So that's what tattoos are all about. Plus the fact, they're ugly.

Well... glad that's settled.

Anyone who would put a tattoo of Pat Robertson on his arm deserves a psychiatric evaluation.

Anyone who would get up on this new-fangled innertube thing and brag about it deserves to get his butt kicked for general stupidity.

The school did the right thing, dude ain't playin' with a full deck, fer sure.

He should have gotten a tat of Pat Robinson sucking balls, because that is what he does.

I'm going to say the same thing to him (not that he is listening) that i say to everyone who throws up a fuss at Baylor univeristy (a baptist university which i attend)

1) college is an opportunity, not a right. unlike high school where it is mandated you have to go, and you must go to a specific district you have free choice to which college you chose

2) if you were unaware with the college's religious affiliation then you did not do enough research, and chose your college hastily. Furthermore, you can always transfer with relative little hassle by the end of the first semester

3) if you chose this school based on money (which isnt likely, as both baylor, reagent and most religious private universities are EXPENSIVE) there are other choices. If there really is no other choice based on money, refer back to number 1, or suck it up.

4) if it is based on distance (again, not likely with this scenario, or any in Baylor, except maybe people who just dont want to get too much farther from home than they already have to) again, refer back to number 1 or suck it up

This goes for people with obscure hair colors, tattoos, muslims, hasidic jews, anyone and everyone that looks/acts/seems different from your standard majority of the university you are going to. If you are going to stand out, expect to either need to constantly defend yourself (i personally believe you can smoke and be a Christian, but many dont, so when i smoke on campus, i get some discussions) or build up a defense of ignoring other people. You knew what you were getting into, and if you didnt you didnt do enough research, and you can always leave.

/lived next to reagent for 16 years
//not a pat robertson apologetic
///who seriously goes from Houston to reagent for the heck of it? The only thing Reagent is known for is the fact that they are funded by Pat Robertson... So unless you wanna work with the guy, why go? Any houston community college will get you the same level of education for the first 2 years.

Wow. Not only did the Subby blow this, but so did the article's headline writer. Neither was he suspended for a photo or for a tattoo, rather he was booted for claims that he brought a gun on campus and therefore violated the university policy.

All aboard the failboat!

Asked if he plans to make an appointment with a mental-health professional, Key said, "I'm taking it under consideration."

And, no! The tattooed dude did not have tat of Robertson.

I think that most sane, reasonable people would consider Pat Robertson as one, sick, twisted and evil individual, and anyone who even think of attending an institution with him as a president should require their head examined....

IggeyE

That was a total and complete load of bullshart

Freedom of speech dictates that you have the right to satirise or mock people.

Also, Robertson is fair game because of his hypocritical shysterism.

Exposing these Holier than thou types who would tell us what is or isn't moral out of one side of their mouth whilst behaving in the same way themselves is the duty of any anyone who wishes to protect our freedom of speech.

martid4: Who - the fark - would want a Pat Robertson tattoo in any way shape or form?

If I was obliged to go to a PR univeristy, I'd have a tattoo of PR even though I don't believe in doing stupid things to your body that you can't undo (easily). Only there'd be no picture because I don't drop my pants for the press. (Also, nobody would be able to see the pucker on the beady-eyed little marmoset's face because it would be facing buttock). I'm think an Alfred E. Neuman parody.

I think Regent is also known for its somewhat lower standard of admission. . . He's a law student there. There is a chance he was not accepted anywhere else, but wanted to go to law school so badly that he figured "what the hell." If that's the case, it's not surprising he wouldn't be very happy there.

2007-10-14 06:46:56 AM
I live in Virginia Beach, and pass by Regent pretty often, and have been inside for some conferences not related to the college. From what I can see, the school is fairly young, but is improving. The campus is quite impressive, and the law school standards have been getting more competive with each year. I would imagine, if it continues, that in 20 years time this college will be a couple of tiers higher. IMHO.

I'm really getting a kick out these replies, because Adam Key is me.

Here is the pic of Pat that everyone's so mad about...

i227.photobucket.com

Here's my Pat/Osama tattoo, it's part of a 1st amendment sleeve. It represents religion(both have detestable views but they should still be protected), while I've got others for expression(burning flag), protest(protesters) and press(Watergate paper).

Finally, here's an awesome political cartoon I found about all this:
