Why wouldn't they be allowed to swear? how about the constitution huh? freedom of speech?

2002-09-29 02:25:07 PM
For once, the cops are against a zero-intelligence policy. Cool.

2002-09-29 02:25:45 PM
Those goddamned cock can kiss their mothers clit if they think they should be allowed to swear.

2002-09-29 02:25:47 PM
Most assholes couldn't say more than a farking sentence or two without throwing in a god damn curse word...

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Oh believe me, they swear over here! If you are younger than 25, you will get so much shiat from the police here. It seems like they just hang around to make your life worse and to swear at you.

Not to say that all of them are bad, but a good majority of the cops here are real swine to teenagers.

2002-09-29 02:27:14 PM
I'm with the cops on this one. Getting suspended without pay for first-offense cussing is a crock o' shiat.

2002-09-29 02:29:15 PM
Profanity is the crutch of inarticulate motherfarkers.

2002-09-29 02:30:09 PM
They should put those mother farking rules into a cannon, glaze the son-of-a-biatch down and then fire it through the hole of a farking giant donut sign...the bastards...

2002-09-29 02:30:54 PM
this shiatting article deserves a motherfarking tag

2002-09-29 02:31:29 PM
hehehe that article said "potty mouth"

Anyone ever see Die Hard? Yippy caye mother farker? Ring any bells? That dude is a hero. Why can't cops cuss? High schoolers cuss...lots. Are they pulling the "set a good example" bull-crap? Either way that suxors.

2002-09-29 02:34:39 PM
President Bush ought to cuss too. But not stop there. Let's start throwing feces at our opponents.

Cussing rules.

2002-09-29 02:36:48 PM
Sarcasm?? In other news, ArnoldLayne suspended after two second career as Boston police officer.

Cops vs. Paramedics vs. Firefighters - who wins?

Cops have the guns, tear gas, and sticks you swing and hurt people with.

Paramedics have all sorts of pointy things to pump air into your veins.

Fightfighters have those hose-dealies and inbred attack dogs.

betting will start at 5,000 Farkistani ruppees.

2002-09-29 02:37:44 PM
I have no problems with cops cussing, but I also think we should be able to cuss at them.

2002-09-29 02:38:32 PM
Firefighters, rather.

Start betting now

2002-09-29 02:39:29 PM
Ok seriously, i don't see any problem with cussing in general, but damn, show some tact. There are definately certain situations where it is inappropriate.

2002-09-29 02:39:44 PM
I go for paramedics because they are supercool and get to help the drug smugglers who swallow rocks of crack/cocaine so cops can't prosecute!

2002-09-29 02:41:04 PM
I was almost so busted by a Boston cop

he had a shaved head, a stogie and looked like the guy from House of Pain

"this is your lucky day fellas...."

thank god!!

2002-09-29 02:43:23 PM
I'll go for firefighters, don't forget the big ass trucks they get to wield too.

2002-09-29 02:45:11 PM
Oh axes too, can't forget those. Beat the shiat out of a nightclub anyday.

2002-09-29 02:50:11 PM
I know this sucks, but I'm bored.

Situations Where Swearing Might be Inappropriate

sunday school: "They thought Jesus was a mother(f)ucker"

wedding ceremony: "I do. (F)uck! No, wait!"

nobel prize: "fark yeah! This award kicks ass."

job interview: "Oh yeah? I can type (f)ucking -seventy- words a minute"

funeral: "John was a total cocksucker. I just came to make sure."

dentist: "Now I'm just doing a routine...oh (f)uck!"

2002-09-29 03:14:38 PM
Well if that isn't some sh!t...

2002-09-29 03:28:39 PM
Dattaway Bush does cuss. I watched the 60minutes special on the eve of 9/11. Bush was talking about his first phone call to Chaney, "Dick, we're going to find out who did this, and kick their fu*k'n asses."

oh, and btw people.... yes the first amendment protects your free speech, BUT, job policies can over write that. Try having a pottie mouth at your office. You'll be quick to shoosh, or be shooshed.

2002-09-29 03:48:31 PM
That's wicked stooopid!

This has nothing to do with cops...I just think Boston people are funny.

Whatever happened to Officer Friendly? Where is the love?

Being a cop has to be the WORST job on Earth. Dealing with human folly all day, then filling out a bunch of paper work to describe it. Add in the low pay, drug addiction and suicide rates. It's not a career. It's hell on a slow day.

2002-09-29 05:45:42 PM
The government can't tell you not to swear. Your employer/school/parents/whatever can. Big difference.

2002-09-29 07:33:44 PM
General Barranger: Mr. McKittrick, after much consideration, I have determined your new defense system SUCKS!

McKittrick: I don't have to take that from you! You pig-eyed sack of shiat!

General Barranger: Well, I was expecting something better from a man of your education...

(WAR GAMES)

Johnny Carson came up with a gem a few years back. One of his childen came in and tattled that the other had used a bad word. He then asked her to whisper the word in his ear. And his response was a classic. "Honey, that isn't a bad word". "That is simply the way people talk that don't have any better way to express themselves". " A bad word would be a word intended to hurt someone".

It's not so much what you say. It's what you mean.

2002-09-29 08:30:17 PM
would you rather a cop swear at you or beat you with his stick? heh.
In 10 years, my husband never felt the need to hit a suspect, but by god he could make them cry. Never called anyone a motherfarker, never called anyone an ethnic slur, very rarely swore (at prisoners, he swears as much as anyone else), occasionally would tell someone what they'd done was farking stupid or they were a farking idiot or to shut the fark up, but really, that was about it. He could make them cry without cussing or beating.
He also never shot anyone, but pulled his gun on many many occasions (as they all do - part of the job). Mr. Bugdog rocked as a cop. He was told once that "you're the nicest cop I've ever been arrested by."
Now the flip side of that was he'd threaten to kill you if you beat your wife/girlfriend/children, etc, and he meant it. The threats worked. He never got another call to a residence where he'd been before, and neither - to the best of his knowledge - did anyone else.
So, I don't have problem with cops cussing. I think this whole story is bullshiat. The fact that it started because someone flipped off a cop and he responded in kind it complete bullshiat.

2002-09-29 08:36:05 PM
I don't care if they swear. I just don't want them to shoot me in the back while I'm unarmed.

2002-09-29 08:37:31 PM
Charityslave, Officer Friendly is dead. Happened in a traffic stop about a year or so ago. He was just too nice.

And yeah, being a cop is a terrible job, but entirely necessary. You only get called when something bad happens, you see the worst humanity has to offer on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis, you life is threatened on a regular basis and people don't like you. Then, in today's world, you have bad cops that make you look bad but you can't do shiat about them because if you do, you'll have IAD investigating every tiny thing in your life determined to find something to bust you on as well (Houston's IAD is really farked up- long story there), even if it's that time the parks department cited you for fishing without a licence (oh, 2 days off without pay. Bad cop!)
Recently an officer here got both days off AND a commendation for the same act. Um. Yeah.
Then there's the pay.
Mr. Bugdog was making 35K after almost 10 years. I was making 59K after oh, getting hired to sit on my ass and answer help desk calls. I have no special training, no degrees, no certificates, but I was making nearly double what he made at the police department.

Yeah, I have a lot to say on the subject.

Barney, did I just hear you say "doo-doo"?

2002-09-29 10:52:53 PM
take back your votes for fire fightets I know a ton of fire fighters in the Boston area and I don't think they will win in a fight (my dad is one of them). I'm glad Boston people are wicked funny just watch out when we cut you off in the cah then give you the finger.

2002-09-30 01:07:49 AM
For all you non-boston people, these aren't the real police.. this is the MBTA police. They are the 'cops' that you see at the train stations, riding the subway etc.

it's true, swearing is a good way to show your ignorance, but it's also a hell of a lot better way to get the stress out than hitting someone or something.
besides, what farkin motherfarker has never let a motherfarker slip out, now and then, for farks sake, fark has got to be one of the farkin funnest drunken farkin words in the whole farking language.
sticks and stones are cool, but for some reason the fundies don't realize that people talk and act differently outside their little circles, and they don't like it, but we don't give a...
