"... but I'm glad it's there for the families of teachers who will be attacked and killed."

So they expect teachers and families to be attacked and killed? What a terrible job, that's worse than the police.
"Honey, I'm going to scrool, don't expect me back."

I think we should allow the teachers to carry Squad-Automatic-Weapons in the classroom.

One of my Wife's friends is studying to be teacher. She was doing her 3rd year internship at an inner-city public school. One of the kids in her class would routinely remove his pants and begin masturbating during lessons.

This was the third grade.

This is what today's teachers must deal with.

Meanwhile, I'm sure the parents were smoking crack paid for by the U.S. Welfare system.

Schools should just initiate a new dress code for teachers -Body armor and bullet-proof helmets.

this is nothing, I have a copy of an insurance program from Unum that pays a benefit for "felonious flinging of human waste material." No joke.

Masturbation? Very nice. I had a student once who, when he didn't get his medication (not a joke), would roam the halls with his pants down for hours.

There was also a time when I took *very* seriously a threat from a 15-year old girl - she said she'd be "waiting for me outside after school". Yikes. The teacher in the classroom next to mine described this girl as a "thug", and I was inclined to agree.

Lovely kids we have now don't you agree? Lovely kids. Still the same jerks as always, but with more freedom and desire to hurt. I love humanity. Human can be such a derogatory term.

I love hearing this stuff. (Sarc)

I'm studying to be a teacher, myself.
Imagine, "teacher" being an heroic profession.

Aaaaaaaarrrrgh!!!! Lies, lies, LIES! Youth violence is on the DECLINE!!! This is just the insurance industry trying to profit from media induced panic. Gah.
[/rant]
Sorry about that, I feel all better now.
