I heard a story recently about a chick at who got her bartender to fry a strip of bacon and put it in her bloody mary like a celery stalk.

I prefer bacon over war and politicians. I prefer it over a lot of things. Especially all over my eggs and toast.

I, for one am deeply saddened by the plight of the Australian people. Fellow Americans, commence Operation Bacon Relief! Donate your bacon and pork related products to your nearest Red Cross office, so that they can distribute the bacon in areas affected by this horrible disaster. Austrailia, you are in our prayers.

There are 3 things you cannot make a bad decision when they are involved. 1 of them is Bacon(the other 2 are Boobies and Ice cream)All 3 should be mandatory at the White house at all times no matter what...

I think this requires some explanation.

Australians are having an election this year and a big factor will be the recent industrial relation reforms. The unions hate these reforms because they take away collective bargaining agreements over pay and conditions which are usually negotiated by unions. These agreements have been replaced with individual contracts in many cases.

There's been several huge union rallies this year over this issue. I'm thinking that this strike is about much more than bacon.

In fact you can expect a lot more of this in AU over the next month or so.

/mmmmm bacon

Yes. There are three food groups: Bacon, Potatoes, and Cheese. All else is just snack food.

stazz: That would preclude a Muslim president. Hmmm.

LavenderWolf: It would also preclude a Jewish president.

You're both wrong. There are plenty of Jewish people out there who eat bacon. Not all Jews follow kosher diets, especially in the US. And not many of you may not know (or want to believe) this, but there are also Muslims out there that don't follow halal diets. Just as there are plenty of Christians who will eat meat on Fridays.

Not every follower of a religion is a scrict follower.

As my TF membership is about to come to a close in 3 days, it appears it's time, once again, for gratuitous sharing of my recipe for the best sammich EVAR with all you handsome, generous gentlemen here on FARK. Did I mention I'm cute, single, and enjoy preparing this sammich and serving it up with beer while dressed up like the St. Pauli Girl on the bottle? ;-)

Behold - the Brother Juniper's Special:

INGREDIENTS:
2 slices of freshly baked herb bread, lightly toasted
2 Tbs guacamole
2 Tbs cream cheese
3-4 slices of bacon (okay, more if you want!)
a handful of alfalfa sprouts or lettuce
sliced tomatoes
salt & pepper to taste

TO PREPARE:
Spread the guacamole on one slice of the lightly toasted herb bread and the cream cheese on the other slice.

On the cream cheese side, layer bacon and tomatoes and salt and pepper to taste.

Top with the alfalfa sprouts or lettuce and the guacamole side of the herb bread.

Voila! The BLT perfected!

/All for a good cause, guys
