Try "Cooler than Ice" With Vanilla Ice.

It has wunderbar writing with lines like " who's that fool" and "drop the zero and get with the hero..."
2002-09-27 10:56:30 AM
We'll start off easy with something like:

Surf 2, or
Gleaming the Cube (all he wanted to do was gleam the cube... until they killed his brother)

than a little more hazardous like:

City Limits, or
Microwave Massacre, or
Back to the Beach, or
Highlander II

but then on to the sheer pain:

Dark Star (remarkably bad, featuring an alien clearly made from a bean bag chair)
Treasure of the Four Crowns (in 3-D!)
Alien from L.A.

and the winner, also useful for those of you who need an excuse to gouge your eyes out:

THE BIG BUS! (a touching tender stoty of the worlds first transcontinental nuclear luxury-bus trip, starring among other people Stockard Channing at the absolute nadir of her career.)

Honorable mention goes to Beaches, just amazingly long winded, sappy and unenjoyable. I should also mention Zardoz, which, although being in the so-bad-its-good category, really is an experience I heatily suggest for everyone.

Brazil was THE BEST movie to come out of the eighties.
How can you live in America today, and not understand it?

Sorry... I'll stop now.

The worst movie not only of the 80's but of all time:

[image from too old to be available][/img ]

The movie was supposed to take place in the fifties yet had such inaccuracies as:

#1 The Swayze Mullet
#2 The Cheese-rock 80's soundtrack
#3 The wardrobe and the 80's dancing

Ultimately the thing which is most hated about the movie is that chicks seem to like it. My girlfriend tried to explain that it has to do with the "nice girl" falling for the "bad boy". I beg to differ -the only thing "bad" about that dandy Swayze is his acting ability. Does anyone else notice that he plays the exact same character in every movie?
2002-09-27 11:05:42 AM
the vanilla ice movie came out in 1990. not an eighties flick.

What about "The Garbage Pail Kids Movie"?

"Rappin' casts Mario Van Peebles as an ex-con turned unlikely leader, this time a rhyme-happy good Samaritan so delighted to be released from lockdown that he lets loose with some impromptu breakdancing moves."

too bad "Gnome Named Gnorm" didn't come out a few years earlier.....

Lou Gossett Jr. IS...

A lot of great Bad Film getting the diss Friday Fark really this pedestrian and vanilla that folks didn't get "Amazon Women on the Moon," "Buckaroo Banzai" or "Howard the Duck"?

"Brazil"? "Saturday the 14th"? Come on folks, these are classics! "They Live!" "Hell Comes to Frogtown" are gems! Two mentions for the "The Gods Must Be Crazy"? Gack! (OK, the sequel DID suck, so you can have that one...) No love for "C.H.U.D."? ("Steel Magnonias" is a gimmie...though I think of it kind of like a lot of folks will think of "Where the Heart Is" when they get older...) I fear for our future if these are your "Worst" films, my brethren and sistren. Fear.

"Yentl" though...THAT is yet another reason to have a full on Hate On for Barbara--though 1979's "The Main Event" might have been enough...
2002-09-27 11:13:29 AM
"Best Little Whorehouse in Texas"

Burt Reynolds, and Dolly Parton....
2002-09-27 11:14:42 AM
Considering all of those movies ARE bad, the worst one I can actually remember is Roller Blade

Dudezilla--Blasphemer! The "Road House" soundtrack! The Jeff Healey Band, Bob Seger, Otis Redding, Little Feat--even the Kris McKay cut was tasty. OK, I know that Patrick did two songs on it, but don't be down on the rest because Pat was trying to horn in on the "Don Johnson" phenomena. Do we hold "Party All the Time" against Eddie? Hell, the "Return of Bruno" against Bruce Willis--liked his chops on that one, and he brought some great songs back to focus...Can't believe you'd pick on poor blind Jeff that way...and Otis--oh the humanity. Forgive him, for he knows not...

"zapped!" starring scott baio
beware any movie that feels the need to add an exclaimation point to the end of the title to add a bit of 'zest' or 'pep' if you will. spunky!

"private school for girls" starring hunky matthew modine and spritely phoebe cates.
cross dressing to sneak into the girls' dorm! womp wah!

"blind fury" starring rutger hauer.
ex. blind vietnam vet rutger hauer being pursued by bad guys, pulls his escape van alongside an irate driver who screams, "what are you blind or something!?" to which our hero responds with a self assured "yes, i am!" hilarity ensues.

"space camp" starring lea thompson, the gay guy from the revenge of the nerds series, john travolta's wife and a very young joaquim phoenix.
i LOVED this flick as a kid. never did i fully grasp the rediculosity of a cheap r2d2 ripoff sending a group of campers into space because he felt sorry that poor lil' joaquim would never get his wish of going to outer space.

"short circuit" & "short circuit 2"
speaking of lovable robots who feel emotions...
you know your movie is bad when the sequel sucks as a result of steve guttenburg and allie sheedy NOT being in it!

"the ewok adventure" starring wilford 'quaker oats' brimley.
there IS a reason why this one was made-for-tv. give me stormtroopers and at-ats over giant spiders any day.

'get off ma' land! get off ma' soooil!'
'maybe a little critter scared you.'
that effeminate guy with the funny t-shirts!
the jeep driver who dumped the toxic nuclear warfare waste because he dropped his roach!
the zombie drinking from the puddle who turns to the camera and growls!
you just made me wanna go out and rent that!
2002-09-27 11:27:56 AM
I'd have to say, any one of the various "break-dancing" movies that came out in the mid-80s... especially the ones with corny plots (a bad greedy industrialist wants to shut down a city park, and some break dancing event raises enough money to save said park, etc.)

R.O.T.O.R. is the worst movie ever made. Go see it.

Dudezilla--I retract my "Roadhouse" rage, though, how can you hate the Dirty Dancing Soundtrack, really? Except for "I've Had the Time of my Life"? In Dudezilla is a cold, cold, cold heart...

Grossengrif der Zombies was pretty bad, but all the gore redeemed it.

Whoever said "Solarbabies" won. End. Of. Story.

Domino, motherfarker:

IMDB review:

"In a future in which most water has disappeared from the Earth, we find a group of children, mostly teenagers, who are living at an orphanage, run by the despotic rulers of the new Earth. The group in question plays a hockey based game on roller skates and is quite good. It has given them a unity that transcends the attempts to bring them to heel by the government. Finding an orb of special power, they find it has unusual effects on them. They escape from the orphanage (on skates) and try to cross the wasteland looking for a place they can live free as the stormtroopers search for them and the orb."

The trailer:

I have seen this film. I wish I could forget it.

Oh yeah, you all forgot "Listen to Me" starring Kirk Cameron. But it still isn't as bad as this movie.

2002-09-27 11:42:45 AM
OK so Tremors 3 isn't an 80's movie. It is definatly an 80's quality movie.

Rad was the worst movie of the 80s and you all know it.

How can you diss on the Road House? It has the best bad guy line ever:

(bad guy to the Swaz during the climatic kung-fu battle)

"I used to fark guys like you in prison."

2002-09-27 11:51:53 AM
Robot jocks is pretty bad
2002-09-27 11:52:04 AM
World Gone Wild - 1988 post nuclear war movie featuring dirty people, cannabalism, and Adam Ant.
2002-09-27 11:53:22 AM
I read through all the posts, and I can't believe nobody mentioned the crapalicious, but oh so hard to find classic - Galactic Gigolo. Even the gratutitous boobie shots totally failed to redeem this foul, foul, excuse for a film.

Gotta back up Flaim. Solarbabies was the worst.

on to the 90's.
