Nicholas Cage already looks like he has Down Syndrome.

f_france: I dunno about that. Seems when Eric Harris asked the girl at Columbine before he shot her at point blank range if she believed in God. When she answered yes, he said why, and shot her.

Nice.

Too bad it didn't happen. (fourth paragraph)

Nice. Love the hate. You do realize your just as hatefull as the people you reject...

Hate the sin, not the sinner. By the way, it's "hateful".

Then you keep your Christian bashing to yourself. Deal? Hate is hate

Come here and try and shut me up.

I'll pray for you, that gets your blood going doesn't it? BTW I'd love the chance

Pfft, you may as well make a voodoo doll and stick your finger up its ass. You know you want to, Closet Case.

Also, hilarious how you rise to my internet tough guy talk. You got rolled like a biatch, oh Christlike peace-lover. You'd get MANGLED, just for the record.

I never said I was religious. Just sick of your constant bashing of Christians. Seriously what is your malfuntion. Why the hate for them. Do you hate all religions equally?

I don't hate anyone. Just making a point. Not much fun when someone bags on you, is it?

So why do you constantly do it to Christians. I could care less about bible thumpers yelling this or that. You seem to have a genuine hatred for them. Am I right?

Noam Chimpsky: Well, isn't it the current "correct thinking" that homosexuality is genetic? If it doesn't come about like Down Syndrome comes about, how does it happen?

Do you know what causes Down Syndrome? Because if ghey 'came about like Down Syndrome', it would be so friggin easy to check for it that there wouldn't be a debate.

Coolboy55: brap: I did not say that I feel threatened. I simply said that the root cause of homosexuality is our sinful nature. I feel sorry for homosexuals in the same way that I feel sorry for depressed or suicidal people.

I feel bad for those heathens who cut their hair and wear clothes made of two fabrics, and those cripples and blind people.

Lev 19:27 [KJV] Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard. [NIV] Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.

Lev 19:19 [KJV] Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee. [NIV] Keep my decrees. Do not mate different kinds of animals. Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material.

Lev 21:20 [KJV] Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken [NIV] or who is hunchbacked or dwarfed, or who has any eye defect, or who has festering or running sores or damaged testicles.

Funny thing is, he has every right to say that.

The decision not the censor it is a brave one, and such a thing lies at the heart of great Western cultural traditions.

Comparing homosexuality to Downs Syndrome IS a bit inflammatory. A better comparison is dyslexia. Basically harmless, not sick, not immoral, just a bit out of whack. And ultimately no threat to anyone.

Like it or not, when genetic testing for "the gay gene" becomes available, gays will probably go extinct in a hundred years or so. Problem solved.

There is nothing in the good book after the new covenant concerning homosexuality. If it were a bad sin, Jesus would have at least mentioned it, no?

FTA : "Whether the content is popular or not, it's not up to us to decide what runs as long as it's not disruptive," Goodwin, said.

vartian : Perhaps, but you might want to determine whether or not what is printed in your paper is true. It has been proven that homosexuality is not a medical disorder, and to allow students to present that disinformation as fact in a paper of record because it is their opinion gains nothing.

Err, it's been "proven" in exactly the same method originally used to "prove" it IS a "medical disorder" - by majority vote.
That's some good provin' there, Lou.

//Meh, anyone out there who wants to argue that "being gay" is either 100% in-born
//OR 100% choice is just using that position to hone an axe, IMHO.
//Some people are shy, some have bad tempers, some are horn-dogs, and some are gay.
//If acting out your in-born traits keeps you from living a happy life - it's a "disorder".
//If not, it's your life - live it.

Haha, good luck, that's a feat of biological science that'd take ages to figure out, and a lot of people won't be such ignorant farkwads by then. In fact as of right now, I wouldn't mind if my child was gay, and I know a lot of others who wouldn't either.

Not sure I disagree with this ruling. The kids should be able to write what they want.

Except that you can guarantee that there's a long list of things that the students aren't permitted to write about, including:
* stupid school rules (on which they happen to be experts)
* religious criticism
* criticism of local/state/federal officials
* most of all: criticism of teachers and school officials. Again where they have the most information to offer.

Been there done that. Multiple times.

See: Wikipedia on the Purdue Exponent (new window).

The "judge not" passage is often misquoted, and misused even when correctly quoted.

"Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven." (Luke 6:36-37)

The focus is on forgiveness. I do not hate homosexuals and I do not judge them. I empathize with their plight, and if possible, I would help them. However, keep in mind that the Bible does not prohibit judging:

"Why don't you judge for yourselves what is right?" (Luke 12:57)

"Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to obey you rather than God." (Acts 4:19)

And so forth. The situation as I see it is this: we are one nation and one people under God. His judgment will come one day, and it is my responsibility, knowing that there are houses on fire, to alert the occupants.

"How shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation?" (Hebrews 2:3)
