Poochy mangy, Doggie Daisy, dachshund all alone
Wire-haired, never scared, you'll unbury the bone
Ballerina, you must've seen her digging in the sand
And schnauzers see she's, always with me, tiny dachshund in my hand

Hold me closer, tiny dachshund
Bound along upon the shoreline.
Gnaw a fossil of a mammoth
You had a busy day today.

I bought an enormous dog bone for our mostly-Basenji mutt. She dragged it around the house showing it off and banging into things. Spent a couple of hilarious hours trying to get it through the doggy door. She loved it when you tried to take it from her, proved it was valuable I guess. Took her about six months to wear it down to a nubbin.

Not that I am a dog person or a cat person, but you know what?

I have never seen a cat do that. Or look so proud in a picture beside a mammoth bone.

But going walkies the other day, she briefly found herself in doggie heaven ... when she was confronted by a bone as big as herself.

If there's anything I hate worse than fluff pieces, it's fluff pieces that read as if they were written by an 11 year old girl. 'Going walkies'? WTF!?

Texas with a Dollarsign: How the fark did they get this mammoth pic? Does somebody at the Daily Mail own a TARDIS?

The same way they got the pics of all the prehistoric 'ancestors of man.' They find a fragment of skull and a piece of a toe, decide what they think it must be based on location of the find, then hire some artists with good imaginations to come up with what they assume this creature must have looked like based on how they imagine it must have lived and what rung of the 'evolutionary ladder' they assume it came from. And if you ask them about it, they'll condescendingly tell you that you wouldn't understand, and/or give you a nice complex circular argument on how 'x is proved by y is proved by z is proved by x.'

Certain distinct morphological attributes allow experts to identify it.

From the article:
And it was a good job Daisy, a miniature wire-haired dachshund, wasn't around when the creature was alive - they grew up to 14ft high and weighed 16 tons.

I can see Wire-haired Dachshund there, but now I wonder about "it was a good job". Hooray diversity! We speak the same language, and it's still a fun little puzzle.

See a cat would have it's back to the camera, be licking it's paw and his posture would say, "yeah. That's the 10th of those I've found this week. I've got a pile of them back at the house."

My cat never looks more proud than when he's killed a mouse, bird, or rat (yes, rat), ripped off it's head, ate its brain, and spat its little face back out on the rug. THAT, sir, is what it takes to have a proud kitty look.

Rock smashes right through paper.
/and I highly doubt that after 2x106 years, under what seem to be normal conditions, that there is even a trace of original bone left.
