The screenshot in the link shows the countdown at 18 hours, but when I go to the website it's at 21 hours. I doubt it's legitimate (not that I really care, Radiohead has sucked since OK Computer anyway).

Please let this lead up to a release announcement.

whiskeyinthejar: (not that I really care, Radiohead has sucked since OK Computer anyway).

There are plenty of bands aping the OK Computer style if you miss it that much.

That would be awesome -- too bad I'll be on the road at that time :(

Is this the band that had that song "Creep"? Talk about a one hit wonder.

Why is that a fail? Whoever registered the domain is keeping it secret. If anything, it makes this more believable.

Did you know that for each domain name you register, anyone -
anywhere, anytime - can find out your name, home address, phone
number and email address?

The law requires that the personal information you provide with every
domain you register be made public in the "WHOIS" database. Your
identity becomes instantly available - and vulnerable - to spammers,
scammers, prying eyes and worse.

But now there's a solution: Domains By Proxy®!

Not a one-hit wonder. Their second album "The Bends" is in my top five of all time. Every track is great. The rest of my top five would probably be Beatles albums, so that's how highly I think of that record. OK Computer was really good.

After that...not so much.

Radiohead was good when they were being played on the radio, back when they wrote Creep, but their albums started to immediately suck right after that. Evertime I hear the Bends and OK Computer, I want to heave. Much rather listen to James Blunt or Coldplay.

I think I've stepped into bizarro world.

I'll give that about a 9.

eh, that one was good until you got to the james blunt part. nice try, though. your troll-fu is getting stronger, my son.

I know you're trolling, but I must say, I can barely stand listening to The Bends or Pablo Honey as they remind me too much of Coldplay. Damn you, Coldplay!

Hopefully, new Radio head album doesn't suck. Hail to the Thief was way over-rated, considering it sounded like Kid A left-overs. Thom Yorke's The Eraser was farking awful, though.

Has anyone ever seen the members of Radiohead, Coldplay, and Muse at the same time?

trueaustinite: I'll give that about a 9.

Funny thing is, until a few years ago that was what I thought of Radiohead. I bought Pablo Honey when it came out, didn't like it that much, and never paid any more attention to them. Ten years later I was surprised to hear they were still around. My younger cousin asked me if I liked them and I said that I thought Creep was a pretty good song--he looked at me like I was a total dumbass.

QFT.

Thom Yorke's The Eraser was farking awful, though.
Grrrrr.

Wow, I think Eraser is a brilliant album, as was Hail To The Thief. It sounds to me that the readers of this thread thrive on and love mainstream radio music.

Shame on you guys...

2007-09-28 02:20:01 PM
Radiohead ripped off Coldplay, anyways. At least the singer of Coldplay married a stunning, large breasted, stable holywood celebrity. Thom what's his name is probably diddling his bandmates.

To be more precise, Amnesiac was the leftovers from Kid A. I guess that makes Hail to the Thief the leftovers of the leftovers.

Valdes: Are you high? Coldplay didn't release their first album until 7 years after Radiohead was enjoying their millions.

Same with me. Thought they were a pop radio outfit until someone turned me onto OK Computer about 3 years after it came out.

I don't know about 9AM GMT. I just went to the site and it sayid this about 4 minutes ago ...

That puts it at about 5pm EDT.

If this is true, I will be majorly happy. I think Hail to the Thief is a great album.

When I was on the site around 6:20 PM yesterday the countdown was at 14 hours. What kind of countdown is this?

2007-09-28 03:32:39 PM
they lost me after kid a, but i LOVED rh for a number of years.
i don't expect them to ever be as brilliant as they once were because a lot of acts in the last couple of years have caught up to the sound they worked back around 97.

/setting expectations low for a new record, hoping to be pleasantly suprised.

Radiohead jumped the shark after Amnesiac anyway. Kid A/Amnesiac should have been a double album. They should have hung it up at that point and went out on top.

/No better modern consecutive album trio than The Bends/OK Computer/Kid A
//Coldplay came close with Parachutes/Rush of Blood but couldn't finish it
///I float down the Liffey

Put me in the category of "thought Creep was cool then checked them out years later." I missed the point where it became fashionable to dislike them. I'm anxiously awaiting this album.

Don't like or dislike Radiohead. Dislike people who consider them 'end-all be-all' material.

Hmmmm. You 'dislike' someone because of music they may or may not like. I imagine your friendship is a highly sought commodity.

Yeah, Radiohead and Coldplay are exactly alike except Radiohead has more than one song.

Article now says Radiohead management says it's not them. I hope my computer doesn't blow up at zero.
