My understanding was that the only reason GM is still making cars was to give these people jobs. Who buys GM? Really? C'mon. Don't kid a kidder.

So, in essence: UAW = Vultures circling a carcass.
GM = some dying creature dragging itself through the desert.

"We're shocked and disappointed that General Motors has failed to recognize and appreciate what our membership has contributed during the past four years," UAW President Ron Gettelfinger said in a statement early Monday.

I'm sure they've appreciated you running their business into the ground, Ron.

I've taken pay cuts as a strategic move twice in my life. It worked out well for me over time. Perhaps "long-term planning" isn't the Union management's strong suit?

I'll bite. I do. Though, only because my father works for them and they gave me a really nice discount. I never cared for the union though.

//dad doesn't like it either.

I love the headline! Someone in the other thread said this:

"Ah, good old GM: A health-care and pension company that makes cars."

The unions served their purpose, and now that national laws exist to protect employees, they should all die.

Good headline and qualifies for the "Aint that the damned truth" category.

US Automakers HAVE to dump these unions or face certain death.

Unskilled nut monkeys making $85k a year to push brooms and tighten screws just doesn't make sense.

Great headline.
