Ghostbusters 2 does not belong on a good sequels list.

Aliens has the big plus of being a different movie than its predecessor. The Voyage Home gets points for that too.

2007-09-23 03:04:36 PM
FAIL!

2007-09-23 03:08:54 PM
Sorry, Wrath of Khan kicked holy ass and was full of teh win but it doesn't compare to Empire.

And Ghostbusters 2? The first one is a classic but the second, they were just phoning it in.

What about Lethal Weapon 2? That Aryan chick's little tits, Joe Pesci, Mel Gibson brings a house down with a rope tied to his truck, Danny Glover....(your diplomatic immunity) "It's just been revoked. BLAM!. That movie was all sorts of bad ass.

I'll have to agree that Star Trek 2 is one of the best sequels... but why no Empire Strikes Back or Aliens? Those should've made the list.

/Space Marines FTW!

2007-09-23 03:10:18 PM
The road warrior is awesome. The wrath of khan was excellent. Sorry, but, neither of them are superior to the empire strikes back.

2007-09-23 03:10:40 PM
Oh wait, Empire was #3... missed that.

PsyLord - wait for it ....

PsyLord: Oh wait, Empire was #3... missed that.

And Aliens at #7 too...

Regarding Empire, I was like 5 when I saw it but somehow I knew that if you're ever about to die and a woman says that she loves you, telling her, "I know" is the epitomy of badass and I've never forgot that lesson.

2007-09-23 03:13:36 PM
.... Bootysama, thank you.

PsyLord You apparently missed the entire article. Aliens is #7.

Damn it all to hell!

Apparently I did. I should just stay in bed on Sundays... I blame it on last night's tequila.

I can kind of see how Wrath of Khan was number one. Even though it was a lesser movie to Empire, the ratio of improvement between it and the original was greater. The first Star Trek was pretenious drivel that was just a repeat of a TOS episode. After Star Wars, no one was in the mood for that shiat. Trek 2 brought the action but also a lot of stuff that was deeper than anything in the first one.

Then again, Empire was pretty daring too, Having all the good guys just get their asses totally handed to them was a bold move.

Sorry but Last Crusade was clown shoes as well. In the first two movies he was a badass motherfarker. In Crusade he's performing slapstick while making goofy faces as he falls down some stairs. He didn't even want to go after the Grail! WTF?

Makes me a little concerned about Indy 4.

Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo

Wow, I never knew that this was real. I'm pretty sure this is what made Ice-T's career.

Right on. You know that wouldn't fly nowadays, either. Even for the 80's that was pretty retrosexual.

And yet even today, most girls will go for the Han Solo than the Luke, the incest issue aside.

Seriously, watch Rocky IV again now that we're not in the 80s or in a cold war, and you'll realize it's the worst of the six Rocky films. However, Stallone was in his best shape for this one.

you are telling me Indy 2 > Indy 3?

gimmedaloot: you are telling me Indy 2 > Indy 3?

Hell yes. Indy was the most bad ass in that movie. It was set before Raiders and he was a total mercenary. It had great action and horror and didn't have the slapstick crap that was in Indy 3. Sure there goofy parts with Willie and Short Round but at least Indy kept his dignity, unlike in Last Crusade. And most of all, he was obsessed with getting his prize, unlike in Last Crusade where he just didn't give a shiat.

"Prepare to meet Kalie....in HELL"

I mean come on.

I've always wanted to see a movie sequel to TOS
"Assignment Earth"....it was set-up for a sequel

I have to disagree. Indy 2 is my least favorite.

2007-09-23 07:23:02 PM
Mugato, I am with you about TEMPLE OF DOOM -- one of the best adventure movies ever for sure ("Okey dokey, Dr. Jones, hold onto your potato!"). In a way, it is has even more of that "Indy feeling" than RAIDERS. Just one bad ass hero fighting his way out of an underground lair of pure evil.

Also agree Ghostbusters 2 has no business on the list -- one of the worst sequels ever along with Men in Black 2.

2007-09-23 07:44:08 PM
This is the ultimate proof that these lists are utter crap: two movies they have listed on their best sequels list also appear on their own list of worst movies. (Rocky 4 and Breakin 2)

2007-09-23 08:24:18 PM
I would change the quote on number eight, Christmas Vacation to, simply, "shiatter was full".

2007-09-23 09:07:28 PM
Rocky 4 is the best Rocky aside from one. Star Trek in general blows. Breakin 2?

When will we get out of this, "Man, this is so farking bad that it's good!" phase? There are only two places where people can get away from this shiat without taking a brick to the face.. high school, and the internet.

2007-09-23 09:14:30 PM
Sorry, but it is an indisputable fact that Indy 3 >>> Indy 2.

An annoying blond chick whining "Indyyyyyy" as the equally annoying kid sidekick makes a funny face for most of the movie.

Yeah, that's kickass if you're five years old. Oh, to top off the lameness, he has to "save the children."

Tourney3p0: When will we get out of this, "Man, this is so farking bad that it's good!" phase?

Um, you just said that Rocky 4 was a good movie .

2007-09-23 10:41:43 PM
that list is pure shiat.

2007-09-23 11:29:19 PM
I declare that Ghostbusters 2 is a piece of shiat movie. If you disagree, you are wrong.

2007-09-24 12:09:28 AM
Nightmare on Elm St ? Friday the 13th ?

Man, the 80's for me was horror movie sequels.

-This time....it's up to you.

Farking classic!

/First Blood was good, Rambo had over the top jingoistic brilliance

"Indy 2" is downright unwatchable. Intelligence-insulting story, complete lack of suspense, action sequences that aren't even remotely plausible (roller-coaster mine cars? are you farking kidding me?), whiney love interest who needs punching more than kissing, annoying stock-sidekick kid who can't act. Even Lucas and Spielberg admit they think it's bad on the DVD box set.

"Indy 2" is not only worse than "Indy 3," it's bad on any scale, and by any measure.

2007-09-24 12:53:30 PM

Hmmmm whiny little brat or gorgeous, sexy, space pirate. Of course us girls love Han Solo over Luke.
