It's okay, man. Next year, your team is going to look like the Seattle Mariners, and then they'll surely start winning.

Not a chance. But I would really like to see them win another 6 or 7 games to try and get home field advantage.

The AL play-offs should be great. 4 teams playing really well, although the Red Sox I'm sure would prefer to have everyone healthy.

42 homers after last night...go on mlb.com and watch his home-run swings. he's swinging for the fences, and it's working. He should have won the game for the Rays, but lucky for us Sox fans, Al Reyes was closing.

Woo! Playoffs! Now, let's please try not to back in any more than we already have.

/Now would be a good time for J.D. Drew to start hitting.

At least Toronto is doing it's best to wear out the Yankees before the post-season. Number is 6 for the Sox!

was I the only person who was distracted all game by that great set of legs in the black dress that was on camera almost all night? The best part was some knob eventually picked her up and she was gone from the 7th on but damn was that something to look at.

Btw, our team still has a ton of issues and I would still like the division but...playoffs, playoffs, playoffs!

Plus, even if September hasn't been that great, Jacoby has been and anytime you bring a guy from the farm up and he plays as well as anybody in the bigs, well, that is just awesome.

Finally, my buddy was over last night who dormed with Carlos Pena and I guess he lives baseball. Girls would be by all the time and get frustrated as hell because when he wasn't practicing he was playing baseball on ps2. I wish we had him, still.

Got some other good news, this morning's herald reports that our front office will do everything possible to reward Lowell for this season and make sure he remains with the team.

Don't know if you guys remember the Damon situation but he was never given a vote of confidence like that or had anything leak about retaining him.

Look for Lowell to get a Tek like deal and be kept not only for production but for being a locker room leader.

Hope it comes to fruition as we are used to fan favorites leaving.

/although, Orlando did knock up a 16 year old and we couldn't keep him

No kidding. I tell you what...I'll trade you Reyes for Gagne, whatcha say? Deal?

Wise guy, like I said, I get this info from the Boston Herald, of course it isn't correct!

John Tomase goes on an anti-jets tirade in here and claims the Pats will go 16 and 0.

2007-09-23 11:03:20 AM
So are the Yankees going to clean house when it comes to pitching in the off season? Or are we just never going to see 3/4 of that bullpen in the majors again?

Right?

Go, Jays! Go, Sox!

2007-09-23 02:01:34 PM
Hello, everybody. Yes, I just woke up, thank you for asking.

3-1 Jays, bottom 2nd, runners on first and second, 2 out.

2007-09-23 02:04:46 PM
2-0 D-Rays, bottom 2nd.

2007-09-23 02:10:45 PM
Captain Clutch does it against a pitcher NOT named Al Reyes.

3-3 Yankees/Jays, bottom 2nd, runners on first and third, 2 out.

2007-09-23 02:33:10 PM
Why do they keep insisting on showing the Patriots game at the same time as the Sox? I can't channel flip AND stay current on Fark.

Assholes.

2007-09-23 02:43:31 PM
3-0 Devil Rays, bottom 4th, runner on first, 2 out.

2007-09-23 02:46:24 PM
A-Rod is in talks to get a deal that would give him a piece of the Cubs

Apparently so. I'm guessing a healthy amount of them are thinking "Wake...Devil Rays...no need to worry, I'll find out how much the Sox won by after Brady kicks the Bills' ass" too.

Pretty much.

Just flipped the channel to see the bases loaded with Lowell at the plate, so I'm liking our odds.

Nancy, doing what he does best, leaving that bat on his shoulder.

/it worked, not complaining

4-3 Yankees, bottom 5th, 1 out.

4-2 Devil Rays, as Jackson walks farking J.D. Drew with the bases loaded. Goddamn it.

2007-09-23 03:23:51 PM
4-3 on crisp single. Still loaded w/ 1 out.

2007-09-23 03:25:43 PM
I LOVE how Sy Parrish needed Jackson to give up three runs, walking home one, and turning the bases into a merry-go-round before he decided "maybe Edwin's done."

2007-09-23 03:26:39 PM
Playing the part of J.D. Drew, Mr. Eric Hinske!

4-3 Devil Rays, bottom 6th.

There we go, the bats are alive!

6-3 Yankees, bottom 5th, 2 out.

2007-09-23 03:31:21 PM
Downside: Wakefield can't get the win today.

Upside: Maybe Tavarez will roll one to first base again.

Or "Didn't we clinch a playoff spot yesterday I'm gonna see how many hundreds of points Moss will net me."
