there's no hate like Christian theater troupe hate.

OK she's not that funny but she's my new hero.

The Mohammed Cartoon Jihadists called. They said "get over it".

I'm going to have to buy some Kathy griffin crap just because of these wackos now. I like her show. It's better than anything on network TV.

"Although others may choose to use their national platform to slander our God, we are honored as professional entertainers to stand for Christ."

Um, she said Jesus had nothing to do with her award. I'd think these morons would want to concur.

Kathy Griffin is funny.

mryoop789: Um, she said Jesus had nothing to do with her award.

I thought it was a pretty funny line.

Although I'm sure there's some lunatic fringe-ers out there, I think most of what we're seeing is attention-whoring mock outrage.

aquigley: Kathy Griffin is funny.

People love to hate her, but sometimes she really IS funny. She's got just about the most annoying voice I've ever heard, though.

Christian theatre troupe? 400 years is all it takes to allow playhouses? And WHAT WHAT WHAT? WOMEN are acting too?

We need to shut these down, post haste. Lazy Catholics could manage 400 years before they fogave Galileo, you protestants should be able to do better.

2007-09-20 04:08:21 PM
I don't care what she says, I still blame Jesus. He's been rigging the Emmy's for years.

2007-09-20 04:09:15 PM
it's a good thing there a no causes that $90k could have helped.

Christian Fundies. Pet Peeve.

It's time for Christians to stand up and say, "Enough is Enough!" The name of Jesus Christ should not be mocked, nor should those who love Him be slandered for their beliefs. It is time for people of faith around the country to stand firm against religious slander, bias, and bigotry of all types including Christianity!

lol

If they were real Christians, their ad would have said,

Jesus loves you and we forgive you, Kathy

or better yet, instead of spending $90,000 on a newspaper ad, they would have donated that money to charity in Kathy Griffith's name.

He's the reason Appalachian State won too. The Mountaineers prayed harder, nothing to do with skills.

Man, those poor persecuted Christians sure are a whiny bunch.

Maybe we can get Griffin and her entourage to meet with the troupe in some location to resolve the matter.

And then pump it full of cyanide.

Oh, the Catholic League is in on this now. Remember who heads that group.

This attention whoring douchebag:

We paid for all this food, so thanks for nothing."

I'm sure that in her next award speech, Kathy Griffin will thank the Miracle Theater in Pigeon Forge, TN, for spending 90K to educate USA Today readers who were unaware of who she even was. That was brilliant.

What's less funny than Kathy Griffin?

° Anal polyps
° Rape
° SIDS

...and that's about it.

I'm still waiting for the Kathy Griffin vs Andy Dick ultimate fighting cage match.

i'm still amazed that a so-called christian group would spend NINETY THOUSAND DOLLARS on a farking ad. money well spent there, you christians, you!

bling jesus approves!

2007-09-20 06:17:03 PM
As a Catholic, I am outraged by what she said! She is horrible and she should ask for forg..i..v..n...Ah hell, I can't even fake indignation for this. Who cares? It was a joke. She was taking a jab at all the people who thank God/Yahweh/Allah/your third grade english teacher/whoever when they get an award. Settle down.

And they spend $90,440 on an ad? An ad? How about that money goes to needed people or a charity or something, not to be spent to tell Griffin that you're angry.

This got me: the Catholic League wanted to "denounce Griffin's obscene and blasphemous comment". Obscene?! I hope none of this 'offended' people watch South Park (especially the Easter episode) or they will literally explode.

/PEEPS!

Where have you been, man? Don't you know that Jesus commands you to make as much money as humanly possible, and that the capital gains tax is a mortal sin?

"It's just not OK anymore to mock Christians and Jesus with impunity."

You mean, it used to be OK? And I missed it? Christ!

Suck it Jesus, that award is hers !!!

2007-09-20 07:11:40 PM
The Miracle Theater in Pigeon Forge spent $90,440 on a full-page advertisement in USA Today that ran nationally Monday, proclaiming "enough is enough."

They also added "screw the hungry and the homeless".

2007-09-20 07:11:53 PM
FTA: We may never win a national award. We may never be household names. We may never be seen in Hollywood.

That about covers it.

90 grand? Are farking kidding me? Jesus would tell himself to suck it for 90 grand.

Jesus is an asstunnel

2007-09-20 07:20:56 PM
I don't blame them for getting angry and retaliating. After all, why should a Christian be tolerant or forgiving?

I'm consumed by the meta-physical aspect of that..

I saw that ad in my local paper. I thought it would be hillarious if they weren't serious. Probably the only theater troup in the world where nobody is getting any...probably for the best.

2007-09-20 07:40:59 PM
I have to disagree with subby here. First of all, crucifixion in general is funnier than Kathy Griffin.
Second: A group of people who follow circular logic, want religious freedom only for their particular belief, willfully remain ignorant of science to the point where they want society to "un-learn" facts, and make up the largest portion of people in the U.S. while crying about being oppressed is pretty funny. Sure at times it's scary, but in general I get a laugh out of it.

Unlike Kathy Griffin

2007-09-20 07:55:41 PM
Kathy Griffin is mildly humorous at times, and innocuous always. This xtian theater group is, well, pathetic and stupid.

They are also affecting, commiserable, crummy, deplorable, distressing, feeble, heartbreaking, inadequate, lamentable, meager, melting, miserable, moving, paltry, petty, piteous, pitiable, pitiful, plaintive, poor, puny, rueful, sorry, useless, woeful, worthless, and wretched.

In addition, they are apprehensive, begrudging, covetous, demanding, doubting, emulous, envious, envying, grabby, grasping, green, green-eyed, grudging, guarded, intolerant, invidious, jaundiced, mistrustful, monopolizing, possessory, protective, questioning, resentful, rival, solicitous, suspicious, vigilant, wary, watchful, yellow-eyed, and zealous.

Finally, they trade brown eye for BJ.

I never knew that she got fired from E! for saying that Dakota Fanning had entered rehab, but thats pretty funny

/just like bashin christians is funny

Unless, of course, it is a clown doing the raping. Than it is much funnier than Kathy Griffin.

I have a dream....

Kathy Griffin spends $90K on a full-page ad in USA Today. It's a closeup of that scary mug of hers, with a little block of text that reads:

"To William Donohue, the Pigeon Forge Jesus Players, and everyone else who's gotten their crucifix in a knot:

I take it all back. Jesus must've really wanted me to win that Emmy. Which means He must be a big fan of mine.

In that case, all you critics are probably due for a serious smiting.

Kisses, and keep your heads down!
-Kathy."

2007-09-20 08:26:18 PM
Someone stick a sock in Donahue's big fat mouth. The Catholic League are hyper-sensitive just for attention.

2007-09-20 08:27:47 PM
Are we talking less funny in the way their are infinite gradiations of numbers next to zero?

2007-09-20 08:28:23 PM
Saying that nonexistant dieties and their nonexistant children have nothing to do with anything is "off-color" now? Well that's just ignorant.

2007-09-20 08:35:40 PM
"It's just not OK anymore to mock Christians and Jesus with impunity."

Impunity is defined as basically the state of not being punished. These asshats spend 90 farking grand on a newspaper ad to say "Hey Hollywood person! We're great Christians and we don't like what you said, and maybe if we blow this dough publicly saying so we'll get an extra cookie in heaven."

Meanwhile, Kathy gets more fans, and any Christian who watches her in the first place would probably be "un-stick-up-the-assed" and have a good enough sense of humor to actually get the joke.

Taken the way it was meant, as a jab at idiot celebs who thank Jesus for their success while doing all sorts of un-Christian things in their videos, movies and private lives, it was not at all an offense at Christians or Christ.

So it's really a win-win for Griffin.

I think that's the perfect definition of impunity.
