Desquamation: Well I can't speak for all of us, but sure, I'd be alright with that... as long as you do it while in church.

Figures. The nanny-staters' goal is to eliminate religion, morality, and anyone who actually wants to lead a free, individualized life.

2007-09-11 04:43:44 PM
So, if the country has been stabalized by having the current troop level, why are they reducing it?

2007-09-11 04:43:59 PM
I got an idea, why don't you libbies as congress to do something about this guy Bushie. and his little war.

SchlingFo: monsignorguru: This administration has done nothing but lie, cover up and lie some more.

Any proof of this, Libtard?

Or, is this just another, "We don't like him because he's winning!!" argument?

No I'm pretty sure he's not winning actually. And yeah he does seem to lie a lot.

i don't want to encourage the good supporters (and otherwise) of the mighty president to actually judge him by the facts of his past conduct - many people don't seem to want to, for some reason - but perhaps it would be wise to look back (perhaps using google, or something equally quick and easy) at the countless other times that the administration has (wrongly) envisaged troop drawdowns in the then near-future. such empty prmoises have been a staple of the war from the very beginnning (i'm happy to give many examples should i be challenged), but, despite this, the same 'plan' yet again has many people claiming a corner has been turned and that it is somehow evidence of such. some of you people really must be fully paid-up baby goppers or (perhaps 'and') have shiat for brains

I've learned that pulling out early prevents bad things from happening. Littlepapasmerfs.

2007-09-11 04:44:19 PM
I see the plan now. Americans have short attention spans. So...

In 2007 which Americans won't remember in 2008, Bush ramps up the number of troops in Iraq by 30,000.

In summer 2008 right before the election Bush announces that he's going to begin bringing home the troops in the order of 30,000 troops. It's a troop reduction. Reap election benefits.

2007-09-11 04:44:22 PM
Now that the place has been completely destroyed old Bushy is gonna cut and run. Nice job georgie.

2007-09-11 04:44:26 PM
If I wore a tin foil hat I would wonder how it is that Al-Sadr calls time out, Petraeus gives his report and Bush decides to send 30,000 home?

To get ready for something else perhaps?

So, if he DOESN'T reduce the troops he's evil, and if he DOES reduce the troops he's spineless? I guess if he can't win then he might as well follow his principles, but America doesn't want a president with principles. We want a president to consult the polls before he decides whether to take a piss in the morning, right?
From what I can tell, he's done exactly what he said he was goonna do in 2002, and he got practically unilateral support for saying it.

/he said it would be long
//he said it would be hard
///he said it would cost lives
////people agreed & supported him
//America's leaders have no balls

Did you even read the article?

2007-09-11 04:45:17 PM
czarangelus: Well, no crap. Funny how the jihadis and the American people both have the same enemy in the end... a few tens of thousands of people in New York and Washington DC are trying to control the lives of everyone, whether at home or abroad.

Wow. Did you really just say that? czarangelus, I'm ashamed that you live in this country. In fact, I'm ashamed that you're even a human; you make the entire species look bad. It's probably a good thing you're such a lost cause in real life, your children (god have mercy on their souls) will never rise to any kind of prominence.

Sir Charles: Bush increases troop levels:

Ridicule from Fark

Bush decreases troop levels:

Ridicule from Fark

Seriously, is there anything Bush could do that would not result in ridicule from Fark?

He could make his daughter Barbara, wearing the Leia outfit from return of the Jedi, bring me a Schlotzky's warm sandwich and a sweet tea with instructions to explain what surge and withdrawl mean to middle America.

2007-09-11 04:45:27 PM
What a pathetic joke. If Bush and his cabinet were truly committed to winning in Iraq, we're going to need to at the very least triple the number of troops there.

i108.photobucket.com

General Shinseki told Bush and Rumsfeld during the planning stages of the war that it was going to take at least 500,000 troops to win. But Rummy & Bush, in their infinite wisdome, determined we should instead fight the war "on the cheap". Look where that got us.

We've already paid a lot in blood and billions of dollars for this war. If they were sincere about winning, lets triple the number of troops. Either you play to win, or don't play at all, but they need to make up their minds and stop wasting America's time. If we need to start a draft to do it, then lets think, should we be in Iraq? Is it worth starting a draft to win in Iraq? Because that's pretty much where we stand now.

President Bush: either shiat or get off the pot. Your dad knew what he was doing when planning the first Gulf War when he sent over half a million American troops. You, quite obviously, do not.

2007-09-11 04:45:36 PM
FuelCycle: Hehehehe, it is funny how the same people who have been biatchin about how we need to get the troops out will biatch about how Bush is tucking and running. Petraeus recommended this and he claims the surge is working, plus the reduction is not going to take place until summer of next year.

Whats funny to me is how many people don't realize that when people "biatch about how Bush is tucking and running", they are biatching about the fact that the Republicans have, for years, been attacking the Democrats for wanting to reduce troop levels and then turn right around now and announce a troop withdrawal even though everyone (even the republicans) agrees that the Iraqi government is in chaos. I thought we'd stand down when the Iraqi's stand up? I don't see any Iraqi's standing up so we can stand down, so, yes, this reduction is just political pandering by the party of 'conviction'.

SchlingFo,

You are being serious here? Surely not. Myopic moranity of this caliber is surely beyond the grasp of a true Farker.

Come clean! You're a plant from NewsMax! They've constructed (with the aid of scientists...none that bothered to actually attend college) a post so inane, absurd and outright idiotic - so perfectly stupid - as to cause a flame war that can be seen from space.

Daft cunning of them!

AlwaysRightBoy: I got an idea, why don't you libbies as congress to do something about this guy Bushie. and his little war.

Because their entire platform is "Bush is wrong".

They don't have any solutions to any problems, and if we pull out of Iraq, they have nothing left to biatch about.

Bush to reduce troop levels by 30,000 as first sign of walking away with his tail between his legs

To all those who criticize Bush for arrogantly making wrong decisions, the idea of changing his direction should cause you to invoke the HERO tag, not imply that he is a coward. You know, kind of in a Darth-Vader-overthrowing-the-Emporer kind of way.

We all make dumb mistakes that affect others. Admitting error and making ammends is cause for congratulations, not ridicule.

/Not that I think for a moment that this is the case.

Christ almighty, you stupid farking libs!!

You whine and cry that the Surge isn't working and that we need to bring the troops home.

Then, GEN Petraeus provides evidence and testimony that the Surge is working. You whine and cry that he's lying and that he's just a White House puppet.

Now, President Bush has said, "The surge is working. If it continues to work, we're bringing our boys home." Now, you're whining and crying about that.

There's no farking pleasing you lib panty-waists. Would you be happy if everyone who wasn't a gun-grabbing nanny stater simply killed themselves with the plethora of weapons available in lieu of using a gun?

Actually people against the war argued not to go in in the first place, and they were right.

General Betrayus has provided NO credible evidence and several other reports paint a much more sober picture.

President Bush isn't offering to bring the troops home, he is actually extending the surge beyond its original dates and then will graciously just return troop levels to normal. This has nothing to do with what the opposition has stated.

You are a delusional nutbag and need to pull your head out of your ass.

Iraq war in BASIC:

10 input "troops"
20 print "I declare major combat operations are over"
30 "troops"="troops"-30,000
40 //watch all hell break loose
50 //stay the course
60 let troops=troops+30,000
70 if "troops"-"deaths">0 then goto 20
80 goto 50

2007-09-11 04:46:24 PM
I don't understand why you people find this confusing.

We finally are starting to see the tangiable positive results of the surge that most people though would be worthless so now we can stop the surge even though the Iraqi forces aren't ready and no political reconciliation occured ("which was the point of the surge"...."no it wasn't"....."hey screw you pal!").

We can't leave totally of course. But obviously the US needs to remove the 30,000 troops that Bush claims were the key to turning things around.

It almost makes too much sense.

I think Bush finally made me go insane.

I might drink tonight. Alot.

To think that 30,000 troops is going to make any difference? Make it 300,000-400,00 more troops and then we'll see some actual progress.

2007-09-11 04:47:16 PM
There are still retards out there that believe any of this is news? Unless Bush wants to re-extend redeployments (again) to past 15 months, we JUST DON'T HAVE THE TROOPS to keep the escalation of forces up.

Isn't Bush "telling the enemy our strategy"?

Also, lowering troop levels to where they were in 2006 is no measure of success.

Poor, stupid Bush-loving Republicans. Who the fark cares about Iraq? I farking don't. And what the fark do Republicans know about "honor"... who gives a fark if we look stupid leaving Iraq. Better than being out $1 Trillion and 5000s GIs.

2007-09-11 04:47:28 PM
The surge/escalation was planned as a temporary increase that could not be sustained longer than a year.

Do people not know this?

actually, reading the thread up to this post, i'd say the majority of the posts have been your post, in various forms. not a whole lot of any liberals whining... some saying that this isnt news, but none of them whining. but a hell of a lot of people saying "wow liberals quit your whining".

here's a tip for both sides. stop touting the party line for a few minutes and pay attention to what's actually happening.

Don't you understand? This is terrible! Our troops want to stay there! Every day they are putting their lives on the line to get Al Qaeda out of Iraq. Iraq has always been an Al Qaeda stronghold and pulling out of there guarantees that we're all going to die a terrible death.

Pray with me for their safety and indefinite stay in Iraq.

He's so far beyond that point. Every other week yields another high ranking official resigning or being caught in some scandal. No one who's been paying attention trusts the man. The only way he could earn back some respect is go running into Iraq with an M16 and single handedly stop the insurgency.

You say "what does he have to do to get some respect" I say "too little, too late."

Look, you semi-retarded Bush supporters, I'll try to explain something to you using small words that maybe you'll understand:

Invading Iraq was STUPID and BAD.

There is no easy way out, which is what those of us who aren't semi-retarded chimps tried to warn you all those years ago.

Remember how you reacted? I believe it went "Oooga booga Bush good, liberals bad!!"

Now shut the hell up and never, ever give your opinion about current events again. You are too stupid to contribute. You are disqualified from the grown-up table.
