EIGHT pages?!

Maybe I'd read them all if it wasn't a libtard rag like MSNBC,
but it is... Give us the Cliff's Notes, submittard.

Uh, not a Newsweek article.

It's a Newsweek article on the MSNBC site and there's a link to the whole thing on one page at the bottom. Sorry, can't help with the length.

I think subby should be banned for smurfing Newsweek.

Scary photo to kick off the piece.

B-b-bill Clinton -

Next up "CHANGE" - this will frighten the sheeple

Triangulation, anyone?

Evolution away from tiny bit liberal to Republican-lite moderate

Dig up nameless Democratic congress critter to say bad things

Details how she was viewed and screwed by the Wash Post and others while still saying she was paranoid about the media. It's not paranoia when they ARE out to get you.

The conversion narratives are by now clichéd: how Trent Lott, who wondered if "maybe lightning will strike" before Clinton could take her Senate seat, came to admire her low-key manner. How Lindsey Graham, the South Carolina Republican who'd served as a manager of the impeachment case against Clinton's husband, worked closely with Clinton on veterans issues on the Armed Services Committee.

President Hillary Clinton-words that many Americans have a hard time saying out loud... Meanwhile, the post-George W. Bush Republican Party hardly seems formidable at the moment

They will look very formidable if Hillary is given the nod.

This. I'm afraid that the only way the Republicans can win is if they run against Hillary.

I don't think that even the prospect of a Hillary presidency is going to motivate the Republicans.

She'll win. It's the Clinton's turn to hold office for 8 years. Then Jeb, then a Clinton again.

People that don't vote don't vote. Hillary's biggest threat is disenchanted leftists that believe she abandoned a liberal ethos for a statist's desire for power and control.

So true, I have yet to hear from a Democrat that is enthusiastic about her. They are all going for Obama or one of the other Dems that are running. Some of them are downright opposed to having her president. For once we agree on something. :D

Jon Snow: Hillary's biggest threat is disenchanted leftists that believe she abandoned a liberal ethos for a statist's desire for power and control.

I don't think some Dems understand how much of this is out there. I, for one, fall in that category. I won't vote for her. I know several others who used to like her, but won't vote for her now. Seriously, why can't the Democratic party get behind some real change in Washington? (Yes, I know that real change would be ending collusion and having intelligent people govern, but that's another issue.)

Interestingly, I heard an interview this morning on NPR with a guy in upstate New York (a republican) who doesn't like her because she's been so vehemently opposed to the war. I think it kind of shows how a lot of people just make up what they want to believe.

Either way, just say no to Hillary in '08.

Me neither. I guess it's an urban myth or something. Most Dems/Left-leaners that I talk to hate the biatch.

The first time I heard the title of her book, 'It takes a village', that was the first thing that came to mind.

I can see her sitting in that weird throne like chair too, calculating look on her face, trying to break Number 6 and find out his secret.

I'm confused. Who are they polling since she always seems to be ahead in the democratic primary polls I see?

Freedom. Liberty. A way out of our financial mess. No new loss of liberty, just restoration of much that has been lost. Disentangling the US from its no-advantages allegiances.

And the 2nd amendment. As well as all the others.

Ron Paul.

netweavr: I'm confused. Who are they polling since she always seems to be ahead in the democratic primary polls I see?

Polling is useless in this situation - who gets the nomination is up to the party delagates at the convention. And I think Hillary is arranging to win that nomination as we speak.

Remember - 'we the people' have very little say in how a President is elected. Which, if we got the two parties out of the way, would be just fine with me. But there you go, it is what it is...

2007-09-10 02:28:56 PM
I actually read that whole article. There is nothing even remotely scary about a Hillary Clinton presidency presented. In fact, the author goes to great lengths to portray Mrs. Clinton as capable and disciplined and chastised by her experience as First Lady.

In any case, if Mrs. Clinton wins the Democratic nomination, she WILL win the presidency. No doubt about it. There is no Republican that can beat her. And she's the best chance the Democrats have. The people claiming that she's a goner aren't thinking clearly.

If the Republican party actually gave any of these more than lip service as of late, we would not be where we are today.

I'm talking about things that get the Republican base fired up- tax cuts, guns, and bashing Hillary have been the rallying cry for Republicans for almost two decades now.

A couple of times, yes. And I think the Democrats are going to ignore the popular vote this time around. The party insiders know that whoever gets the nomination this time around is going to be elected President. That means a LOT of chips are being cashed in and a lot of back room deals are getting made. Hillary is very, very good at that sort of thing and she really really wants to be President.

Don't forget gay marriages. Nothing brings Republicans together like the opportunity to throw queers under the bus.

That's not "The Republicans".

That's the Neo-Conservatives. ie, BushCo, and you don't despise them any more than Republicans do.

Clinton and pals all voted for the Patriot Act and to send troops into Iraq.

Ron Paul voted against these atrocities from the start.

Vote Democrat (except Obama and Kucinich), and you're voting for more of the same, just as if you voted for Giuliani or Thompson.

Vote for Obama or Kucinich and you vote for lame ducks that mean well.

If you want things fixed (as in corrected) vote for Ron Paul.

That seems like a great way to split the Democratic vote. Since whoever wins the popular vote could run anyways.

netweavr: That seems like a great way to split the Democratic vote.

I'm not convinced votes even matter anymore. The numbers are so large and so easily manipulated by those who already hold office, that I no longer trust our elections system at all.

My attitude is currently: I'm for Ron Paul but I know he won't win. I'm only for him because it's best for America. A total collapse in this country would make me very wealthy.

Without very drastic changes, soon, our economy will collapse. Even if Ron wins, the economy would need to hold together at these unsustainable levels until 2010, the earliest that he could bring about the necessary changes that might prevent a next great depression. But I doubt the economy will hold up that long no matter who is or is not elected.

I also wouldn't rule-out BushCo placing a permanent hold on elections -- something he can do legally, now that the Democratic Congress granted him that power without a second glance. The Bush, in case you hadn't noticed, is not entirely sane.

The moment he does that he better get the second amendment repealed too. Or he may learn why it exists as states start to secede.

People, we have two options with this up coming election:

1. ELECT RON PAUL AND PRAY HE DOES WHAT HE SAYS HE WILL

OR

2. HAVE A REPEAT OF THE FRENCH REVOLUTION.

Otherwise there will just be more of the same. Crappy economy getting crappier, continued loss of freedoms, war in Iran, et cetera...
