Good luck Replicator! If you were coming to Seattle I would for sure check it out, but alas. Its cool that your opening for Dutch Flat and Babyland. Both great!

If you put another show together like that one with Babyland and Midnight Laserbeam then I'm all over it. In fact, if you can convince Babyland to leave f*cking LA for once then I'll buy a CD.

I will check you at 7th street in Minneapolis next month.

After the show, I will decide if I want a CD. Otherwise, I will just head over for Sleater.

If you ever hit central Illinois, stop by Champaign or Springfield. They're both about 2 1/2 hours from either Indy, Chicago or St. Louis, and Springfield's got a number of places to play at.

MUNCIE! Feeling like my town would not be on the list, I decided to check it out when...low and behold! Holy freakin' crap! The Speakeasy here in Muncie is hosting some farker's band...this weekend might be a bad weekend, but I'll do what I can to make it to the show. Just give a shout out to Trent.

Surprisingly enough, your music was quite good, reminding me of Slint and/or Shellac (your singer sounds a lot like Steve Albini IMHO). I noticed Bob Weston produced one of your albums so apparently know what's what. Good job, I'll keep my eyes open if you stop by Providence.

Not bad. Makes me think of Jawbox.

hey! you guys seem really cool! yay!

looks like you're hitting st. louis tomorrow night. the hi-pointe is a really good place for punk/indie shows. it's a pretty small venue (kind of like a long, wide hallway with a bar), but i think you'll like it. that part of town is really close to the u-city loop where there's a bunch of very cool places to hang out. i highly recommend trying to get to vintage vinyl (very cool record store on delmar ave.)sometime before or after the show. a lot of times, they'll be really cool and let bands do in-store shows for promotional ideas. if nothing else, try to get there to make sure they've got your cd and that they can promote it. the people that own the joint are in indie bands themselves (ever heard of a band called "bunnygrunt"?).

oh, i hope you guys make it! unfortunately, i'm in michigan and can't make it down. but, try to get to detroit the next time around. very good scene for indie bands here. the kids, they love the rawk!

:)

Hey, I should be able to check you out at the 31st street pub in Pittsburgh on 10/4. Great place to see a band, strippers during the day and bands at night(boobies, beer and bands, can't beat that!) Plus I checked out your samples, sounds great.

No Austin Texas? It's the live music capitol of the world.

If you were coming here I would go. Headed to a private party at noon today with the special musical guest Joe Bonamassa. Free food and Beverages provided by Anhieser Busch.

Hey hey, alright thanks Drew, i'm glad this is working now, since the login names and IPs are tied in I wasn't able to comment on this thread until now. But now with the super secret Replicator_on_tour login I can... hot damn!

ok abbreviated responses of what I had before.

Megapaw-Yeah we're lucky to be playing with many many great bands, so far it's been nothing but a blast as well. We'll for sure get up to Seattle at least by the beginning of next year, it's long overdue, but we've just always had problems up there for some reason.

Doctorphibes-you know the funny thing is that exact same show happened in sf last summer, we loves us some Babyland, we really do, ML is swell too. Babyland is for sure coming back up and doing some touring, they are just finishing their new album first. The new songs are so great though, I can't wait.

Picturescrazy-Yeah, long story how we ended up playing Youngstown, but needless to say we'll end up playing Toledo at some point.

Firstmattinspace-Thanks so much, we appreciate the support, seriously. I'm pretty pumped about seeing Sleater myself it's been a few years, although I have not heard the new album i'm sure it's swell. Make sure to introduce yourself to me, i'll buy you a beer or something if we aren't on the ramen diet by that point.

Satchmo Thanks man! yeah we wanted to play Baltimore but since the Ottobar is way bigger now and our friends in the Oxes and New Brutalism aren't available it doesn't make sense for us, thanks for the interest though, one of these here days.

BadAndy23 we ALMOST ended up playing champaign (so many awesome bands from there) but it didn't end up happening this time, next time!

Sweaterdude Awesome! yeah came as kind of a shock when we ended up with Muncie for that date, but i'm excited, Ben (in Replicator) is an Indiana boy, so that's cool because of that alone, if not for say, Hundsucker Proxy! hope to see you there, make sure to say hey. Hmmm that's tonight... right on.

Scoots Thanks, i'm glad you enjoy it, yeah more then any other band we get compared to Shellac like... a lot. But they are a great band, so hey why not. We've been developing our own voice though as bands tend to do as they've been around for awhile, I don't feel too bad though, June of 44 sounds like Shellac and Slint too and I love them!

Bob is a badass engineer and an amazing human being too.
One of these days we'll play providence, we were an ant's eyelash away this time but it didn't happen... where the hell do bands play there now anyway? Fort Thunder is no more right?

Demotivate 2 out of 3 Replicators love Jawbox (and the other kinda digs them) so thank you very much.

Misspudding thanks for the headsup, we tried to check that stuff out but got too late of a start, damn next time though. St Louis, was wacky but very fun. We played with bands that sound nothing like us, but people were really into it, who knew?

We almost were going to play michigan but...

well you know

(Ben has heard of Bunnygrunt BTW)

Camaris i'm really excited abouts pittsburgh that should be an awesome show, too bad the strippers and the show isn't at the same time that would be something else I'd imagine. Hope to see you there, introduce yourself if you make it, i'll buy you a beer if I can!

Sessone-don't eat the brown acid!

Vorlon42- i'm not sorry we're playing Youngstown, i'm looking forward to it since we're playing with our pals Stinking Liz. It is kind of weird since we aren't playing Columbus or Cleveland or hell... even Akron... weird

HoldStillFarkIt
-hmmm? Tea is good!

Bad_Sinfluence-No austin this time, we're planning on hitting Austin, Denton, etc. sometime early next year, maybe with the pAperchAse, no time this tour though...

hey for those interested you can check out week one of the tour journal here, i'm going to submit it now, wish me luck!

And for everyone else who's responded on fark and off, thanks so much, you people kick ass, as does fark.

holy crap, we gotta go!

I like it. Good luck on the road.

Danderzai-Sorry to hear that, don't really understand why you'd want to waste your time commenting on it, but hey, your perogative.
just like Bobby Brown, is that a Wesley Willis picture?

if so rad!

take care farkers...

Replicator_on_tour:

Singer?Guitar-player?Bassist?Drummer?

Let me know so I am able to purchase the correct member a beer. Unless you turn out to be the drummer, in that case you are on your own.

Only kidding, I have just had some unfortunate experiences with certain members of the drumming collective.

Oh, and thanks for playing within walking distance of place - makes it easier to get out of the house - and even the wife has agreed to come along.

Finally, the trees will be peaking about the same time you reach MN - so you will be in for quite the scenic ride.

Sounds good. I will try to make it to your Philadelphia show this Wednesday.

hey Conan,

glad you had a good time in St. Louis. it's really a fun music scene. i miss it a lot. lots of cheap, underage shows, and local bands tend to be really supportive of each other.

sorry to hear you weren't able to make it to Vintage Vinyl. glad to hear that one of your guys is familiar with Bunnygrunt, though! cool! :)

whenever you get around to Michigan, i'm sure you'll enjoy it. Detroit has a really rich musical history and there's still a lot of that activity going on downtown.

good luck!

Firstmattinspace- i'm the guitar player/vocalist/tape deck operator. The name's Conan, like the talk show host not like Ahhhhnald's characters (or the books/comics)

Bummer about the bad drummer experiences, the sad truth of the matter is that a lot of musicians drummers or otherwise are just grade A dickholes. Seriously... but don't worry us "touring band" types hate them just as much as you do. ;)

Besides to a certain degree I believe you reap what you sow you know?

No problem about playing walking distance away from your place. ha ha! I'd love to say that we planned it that way. Hopefully you guys will dig it, bring earplugs if you have 'em, hearing is precious.

I'm looking forward to seeing MN a lot actually.

Richard_Kiel-Awesome man! hope to see you there.

Misspudding-Yeah St. Louis was awesome in the weirdest freaking way, week 2 of the tour journal will either be posted later today or tomorrow so you can read all about it then if you wanna.

I really wish we could have checked out vintage vinyl, i really love record stores, espically checking out new ones away from home, but alas!

I think Michigan should be cool, Detroit espically, yeah has so much musical history it's amazing, I really wish we were playing the state, but ah well...

thanks for the kind words everybody!

Replicator: Ft Thunder is indeed no more. Venues you'd be interested in would probably be Lupos, the Met Cafe, the Green Room, the Safari Lounge, I'm not really sure where else.

Are you familiar with Six Finger Satellite or Arab on Radar? They're both Prov bands and I belive they've both recorded with Albini (AOR might've actually been Weston). I used to be good friends with the guys in AOR, did all their flyers and such.

2002-10-01 01:25:29 PM
thanks for the tips, now i'll know for next time.

I freaking LOVE 6FS and AOR both, I ripped off my extension tweeter trick from both band (who kind of ripped it from Steve), I think both bands are just swell. I wish 6FS was still together.

AOR hasn't recorded with Steve, but did record with Bob.
that's rad you used to do AOR's flyers.

drop me a line would ya?
replicator5000 @ yahoo.com

we should talk off of fark.
