Damn, even if it wasn't perfect it was still cool!

That was pretty cool. I always like to hear music like that played acousticly.

I have the Metallica version as my ringtone for a couple of ex-girlfriends. If they are calling, it's generally not a good thing.

Electric guitar FTW on that song.

Indeed--he certainly "Esteban-ed" it.

The biggest difference is that the guy in the mario movie PLAYS THE SONG. the star wars guy adds a ton of "classic guitar" notes inbetween the song notes. LAME.

/mario guy was way cool

This is not surprising considering the composer of the Star Wars music was John Williams, who was trained by the classical guitar genius Andres Segovia

No, this will own your face.

8 string Star Wars guitar goodness.

There's just too much stuff going on at the same time. It gets boring quickly.

Wrong John Williams.

John Williams (new window)
vs.
John Williams (new window)

I'd pay money to see guitar guy and bagpipe guy (new window) perform together.

Ya that's a stretch, I mean who would ever make an arrangement of an orchestral piece for an acoustic guitar?

Nice, but there were a few things that made it go sour:

1. He started rushing a few times. Dude, relax. The audience has already paid for their tickets, so they're not going anywhere.

2. Sometimes he was so busy (wanking) with the extra stuff that the melody disappeared. The audience would mostly recognize only the melody, so he should've dropped everything else if necessary.

OMG DARTH SEGOVIA!!!

OMG! WTF? he is so pwned by by the "Star Wars DJ" that it's not even funny. (new window to YouTube)

1. Take 1 part "Star Wars"
2. Mix with 1 part subject either "madly popular" or "obscure."
3. PROFIT

Yeah well a last night I heard "Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk" from an LP at a friend's place. After hearing the Star Wars music to a disco beat (just ep 4, as it came out in 1977 or 78), I never need to hear another cover of Star Wars!

The_Pink_Pimp:OMG! WTF?

You are correct, sir. Also, thanks for the link. That was really impressive and definitely way harder than it looked.

i play a pretty awesome version of that on my nose trumpet.

I have seen many pointless things in my life, but that was by far the most pointless thing I have ever seen.

/ not good

That had great potential to be enjoyable. It's too bad he played it very poorly.

I'd like to hear someone else play the same arrangement well.

2007-08-27 07:35:36 PM
That sounded awful. It was too fast, and much of it came out messily.

That said, I sure couldn't do it.
