Put the apostrophe in front of the z and it's exactly the right headline.

"Singleton, 39, immediately stopped his car and waited for police to arrive after the accident Thursday night..."

And, unlike a lot of other celebs, he wasn't too chickenshiat to stop. At least one person in Hollywood has some balls.

Yeah, probably because he wasn't drunk and didn't have anything to hide. Sounds like somebody just ran out in front of him. It would still suck to have that on your conscience though, even if it was entirely their fault.

One would think 57 years would be enough time for anyone to figure out that looking both ways works for a reason.

Good! I'm sick of jay walkers. I see them everyday running out in the street dragging 3 year old kids behind them.

I was driving through town yesterday and some guy, late 20s, was walking down the sidewalk reading a book. He never stopped nor looked once. I passed him a second time and he walked into the side of a trailer. Wiped his pants off, said something to the driver, then took off walking again.

Was "card" meant to be a pun? I always understood the lyrics to be "we'll pull your car" as in carjack you.

Every film that man has ever made has been garbage. I'm not including Hustle and Flow, that was someone else's vision. But Higher Learning, Shaft and everything else has just been half-assed films that just devolve into scribbled motion picket signs about race. He's a poor man's Spike Lee.

/With that being said I'm glad to hear he stopped and waited for the police, more people need to be responsible like that.

Bramphousian: I'm pretty sure it's "pull your card", as in "to select you".

I just checked a handful of lyrics sites through Google and there seems to be a toss-up between "cord" and "card."

I'm glad he manned up. Not everyone who nails a 57 year old woman with their luxury SUV has enough class to wait for the cops.

Like I was telling my friend the other day, "morons who don't look twice at the crosswalk end up outlined in chalk".

What impresses me is that he was only 23 when he made Boyz n the Hood, and that it was his first movie. That's pretty good.

In my neighborhood, the black people (mostly kids) always walk down the center of the street, never on the sidewalks. Drives me nuts.

And they ignore you if you're driving down the street. And what an outrage if you should dare to honk at them!

The same goes for those assholes that stop their cars in the middle of the street to talk to another asshole on the sidewalk. Or, worse yet, another asshole in another car in the other lane!

Sounds like Jersey City to me.

Nearly nailed a guy once. I had a green light, and he literally walked right out in front of me, mouth open, staring at the sky, completely oblivious. I even swerved towards him, just for kicks. Didn't even notice. Obviously high as a kite.

I always do that to motorists who take *very slow* left turns (USA) in front of me when I have the right of way. A lot of us do that shiat from time to time but at least be courteous enough to do it quickly.

good for you. where do you live now that isn't the ghetto where " the black people" all wander down the middle of the street? hell, i'm in a suburb, planned community - sidewalks galore w/single family homes. does anyone use them? hell no. the power walkers, soccer moms, old people, dog walkers and spoiled kids (white, mostly - sorry to disappoint) etc refuse to walk anywhere but on the frigging road for some odd reason. so the sidewalks stay empty ALL THE TIME. but your story sounds like most inner cities, as a matter of fact you could easily be talking about plenty of areas i've been in philly where the "streetwalking" is done not mainly by blacks, but by whites - italians, i suppose, based on the makeup of the neighborhood). if you beep the horn, you get the finger and a string of epithets that would make tyson blush. point is, in the city people walk in the street because they think they have bumpers for some reason, it's got nothing to do with race unless you're already jaded in your views. if you don't think whites or asians or hispanics do the same, you're a fool.

a black celeb, through no fault of his own, hits a jaywalker, does the right thing and stays to talk to the police. even so, fark thread begins to deteriorate to the usual crap about "what blacks do." it doesn't take much with some of you, i guess...
