lets just ignore this idiot, m'kay?

2007-08-21 03:13:55 AM
Wow. I'm at a loss for words. Asinine, rather than amusing.

Although he did admit to downloading music back in '97. Long before iTunes came online, or any other legal download service that I am aware of. Someone call the RIAA and maybe we can just make him go away...

baorao: lets just ignore this idiot, m'kay?

I'd love for him to disappear from all human consciousness, but some retard keeps reminding us he still exists.

Is this guy retarded? They asked for background, and he wondered, seriously, if they meant "race". Really?

/Really?

25? Dude looks like he's 10, and he has six balls fueling that deep bass voice.

I love when people make up bullshiat about having some great reason for being single. This guy is an idiot.

Wow.

I knew he was tone deaf.

Had no idea he was batshiat crazy.

wow:

Growing up, I learned to hide the fact that I had any passion or enjoyment for music or life. Being "influenced" to laugh or dance was always a sickness or pathology. It made my parents fearful that they were losing their kids. To this day, I'm not sure you could get me to admit that I was influenced by anything. It's just beaten out of the way I think. Perhaps people call my music "unique" because I don't feel beholden to any influences.

Interesting interview, thanks smitty.

The weird thing is I can kinda relate to that, my parents were very similar, strict protestants and all that. I like to delude myself that I do better music though. To continue to deny influence is a pretension though, I know a couple of other musos who try to pull that one, just makes them look like wankers.

Wow. I always thought the guy singing Chocolate Rain was some naive talent that might go on to better things -especially after getting so much notice on the internet. Now? I think he's a delusional flake.

Whatta let down.

Wow!

I believe this is finally the first CHOCOLATE RAIN greenlight evar Farked!

2007-08-21 08:00:04 AM
I saw him on Kimmel, he didn't seem that flakey there. The song doesn't play well live though, as it's repetitive as fark. The singing voice wasn't spectacular but it wasn't awful either. He sure has one deep-assed voice though. I thought for sure he was faking it.

Watch his Jimmy Kimmel interview on YouTube.

With proper voice training, he could be a better singer or voice-over artist. Doing movie trailers & shiat.

"In a world ..."

As much as I don't like ANY of his music, and I think he's a bit too tightly strung, I have to agree with some of what he says. Especially the bit about black/white stereotypes in music and the categorisation of artists.

He sounds like a pretty intelligent guy.

Am I the only one that finds the Vader remix ridiculously funny? (should pop)

2007-08-21 09:36:46 AM
Ok, maybe I am out of the loop, but I am farkin confused here.

I just skimmed the article, but

1) He is like 12 or 13, right? I even quickly checked out the video and it looks like a couple kids fooling around in their basement.

2) I've been under the impression that "Chocolate Rain" was a joke. Is it supposed to be serious now? I am having trouble believing it. If serious, it would probably be the worst piece of music ever created. Why would someone make weird faces and suck in air like he is if they were recording a serious music video. I call shenanigans on it.

3) Again I have to call shenanigans over the interview. It is way too contrived to be real. Asking about his background turns into a rant on race and Martians? Come on. It had to be a joke.

Is there a current over/under on how many days before it's revealed that it is a 13 yr old kid just screwing with people?

I was at the store the other day behind this guy in line, and his voice was not that deep when he speaks. It's his real singing voice, but he made it sound like it was his real speaking voice when he was on Jimmy Kimmel. First our farking bridge falls down, then this guy gets national attention? Minneapolis is hurting people.

/not really, we're fine.

just waiting for the next Train Wreck so we can move past this borderline near autistic half talent.

He's the kind of guy you feel a little bit sorry for... since he's so incredibly inept in a Social Setting, so you ask him how his day is going, and he just won't shut the fark up... rambeling on and on about whatever chain of half deep, half crazy thoughts pop into his head.

This isn't Genius... as non of his thoughts are complete... they are half thought... prior to coming to a conclusion he shifts topics...

get this kid whatever the adult version of reitalin is... that or get him laid... get him to smoke some weed... anything...

just stop toying with the kid... he thinks he's gonna be the next BIG Talent...he's not.

he should do well in some form of Choir.... or as a back up vocalist... but he can't write music, and his lyrics are just as detached as the rest of his thoughts.

Yup. Honor roll at her middle school, soccer star and all around good kid. Plus - make her pay for overage with her allowance and it's keeps me from worrying when the school bus runs late.

I love Shooby Taylor! And Wesley Willis was totally godlike (RIP)

Who knows if Zonday will be able to reach the levels they did, creatively speaking.
We have to bear in mind that he's very early in his career now, only having done a few songs.

Maybe he can channel the leftover feelings about his parental weirdness into his music,
like Prince did. (Is it a Minneaps thing? What was Westerberg's childhood like?)

Relax, give him 6 months, he'll fade into obscurity, and we won't see him again for 20 years, until VH-1 runs "I Love the 00's", and then we can all hope he kicks Andy Dick's ass.

2007-08-21 04:31:03 PM
I actually knew this guy in high school. I was a senior at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in Aurora (a three year residential high school for nerds) in '97-'98, and he lived in my wing during his sophomore year. He looked and sounded EXACTLY the same then as he does now.

He seemed like a decent enough guy, just very very off-kilter socially, even by IMSA standards.

2007-08-21 06:24:33 PM
I'm guessing Asperger's Syndrome. Anyone with me?

Sounds like an intelligent guy. I f*cking hate that song, though.
