Wow. I think the only way that could be a shiattier situation is if she was in a bowl of some sort with a giant ring of waterways above her. Bad, bad, bad.

Bound Brook, NJ, is just the same way. When it pours it's a perfect storm of fail.

If this stays on the projected track and goes through the Gulf then Texas is FARKED. Farked so amazingly hard.

Daraymann: Fixed it.

Speaking of fixing things...

You know now have a choice before you. Do you wish to remain reasonably civil in your journeys and chose choose the Dr. Jeckle Jekyll side of my psyche[?] Or do you chose choose to ignore what you believe to be a safe reality[,] and delve into one man's slowly deteriorating sanity by choosing Mr. Hyde[?]

The choice it is yours and yours alone. How you precede proceed is a reflection of only yourself and a stark reminder of what can happen to us all.

jmayson: Cool because he really need more rain here in Texas.

Dude, you know.

I came home today, after being in the traffic from a little bit of rain, and I told my chica, "We're not evacuating unless it's going to hit us as a Cat 4."

She started laughing and said, "Well, it looks like it's on course to hit us as a Cat 4."

I was like, "Fark."

After the nightmare in 2005, I don't want to think about evacuating this city with two cats in the car.

I posted it earlier, but I'll post it again. The Blue Mountain Project is a group of volunteers and grad students who go to impoverished areas and set up clinics and health care resources.

This came from a lady at my church, for those of you who are so inclined:

As you know, the Blue Mt Project (and I) has been working in rural Jamaica to help improve the lives of the people there. With God's help, we've been able to make great progress -opened a clinic and gotten medical teams from Northwestern and Michigan Universities, started programs for women and children etc.
My concern is that our village is in direct line to be hit by Hurricane Dean and this could represent a terrible blow to our brothers and sisters there. (e.g. The last hurricane took out the bridge over which Food For the Poor brought in food,)
So, if you feel moved to pray for the good people of Jamaica in this time, it would be a kindness.

Ooh damn, that's pretty. Nice work. A cone overlay would be nice.

BTW, what's the situation in Houston? Have you guys been afflicted with the shiatload of rain that has put Texas in the news so much over the last couple months? How would the city handle the rain from a hurricane?

About two-and-a-half years ago we married in Jamaica. There were no banana daiquiris then. Alas, Ivan killed all the bananas. Why must history repeat itself?!? Must it be a Dean Deal?!?

/Won't someone please think of the bananas?!?
