The only thing the paintings are missing is the red rubber clown noses.

I think that's the first time I've ever seen an image get a greenlight. And a really small one at that.

I'm sure A-Rod was honort to get those.

Maybe they should correct the headline to read:

Yankees honor A Rod by giving him REALLY bad art to commerate his 500th home run (with photo)

Just a thought

fark the Yankees.

WoodyHayes: fark the Yankees.

6-0 against the Tribe this season.

I'd be bitter, too.

You're assuming that I had hope in the first place. I'm a Tribe fan, I know better. If they make the playoffs I'll just be thrilled with that while if the Yankees don't win the World Series with their seventeen gazillion dollar payroll they've underachieved.

I wouldn't be bitter.

I'd be bitter about those paintings, though.

One art please!

Hmmm...rainbow background on the pictures. Someone trying to tell us something? Honorted indeed.

Dammit, someone fixed the headline.

As a Sox fan I wholeheartedly support the Yankee organization's decision to give him those terrible, distracting, and possibly jinx-inducing technicolor art abortions.

It's New York art as its finest. You could sell a small black dot on a canvas to those people.

Meanwhile the team owners still profit off the team and laugh at you and everyone else who biatches and moans about the payroll and lack of championship.

Management loves having that excuse to fall back on.

Meanwhile, nobody does anything to the Indians because they expect them to just keep blowing or be good enough to get their fans' hopes up, and then blow and cause their fans to deny that their hopes were in fact up.

Didn't the Mets already take care of the "thanks for doing a lot on other teams then reaching the milestone on our team" celebration for the week?

Did the Lite-Brite company gain controlling interest in the Yankees in the last few days? I don't know art, but I know ugly.

How is he not offended by that when I'm sure he's aware of the whole Gay-Rod thing. That being said...HA HA

on the bright side, it was pretty funny when they dropped one of 'em.

Yep... but they still pay to see them. Funny, that.

1985 called, and it wants its graphic designs back.

They announced the artist as having had been commissioned to paint the last seven presidents, which would go back to Nixon.

Impressive resume, crappy results.

Heh. In fairness to the artist, Peter Max, those were his designs in '85. He was (and is, to the extent it's still important) the kind of the psychedelic print movement. It's not my bag, but to the extent the world needs a sports artist to succeed LeRoy Nieman, Max is as good a choice as anyone.

The artist is Peter Max (pops). I'd guess those A-Rod paintings would be worth at least $30K each. Probably a lot more.

Like most art you'll either like his style or you'll hate it.

This can be yours for $46,200.

Personally I like some of his stuff..

puckhead: on the bright side, it was pretty funny when they dropped one of 'em.

I was watching highlights at lunch on The Score and when the art(?) hit the ground, Caroline Frolic gave us a HA.

/funny only to Jays fans?
