You know, I am starting to think that there was more thought put into the dance scenes at the end of Strangers With Candy than the actual show itself.

The entire time I was watching Titan AE, I was thinking that for some reason it was so 90s until I realized it was the combination of the hair styles and popular music from the time.

My last job involved a bit of data entry for the alumni department at a university in the California State system. I'll never forget receiving an "update your information" card scrawled in old lady handwriting, mentioning something about retirement, voice work, and playing a part in 101 Dalmatians. It was from Cate Bauer, who voiced Perdita. She recalled it fondly as her fifteen minutes, and if you check her out on IMDb, it was pretty much all she ever did. Made me want to watch the movie again.

I still like The Jungle Book's music better.

5 Easy Pieces is pretty good so far. Definitely not something I would have envisioned Jack Nicholson in from his later work.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is long. And slow. And titless.

I don't normally comment on the ads around here (and I'm well aware that Drew probably isn't personally selecting them), but I just saw an ad for the sure to be terrible movie "My Bloody Valentine 3-D" that really struck me. It hypes that the movie will let you see teenagers disembowled in 3D, of course, but in the corner, it says "It's in 4-D if you're WASTED!"

Now, I'm aware that movies have slyly, wink-and-nudge, acknowledged that their appeal might be greater if you are, well, enhanced chemically. But I don't think I've ever seen such a blatant appeal to get farked up before you see a movie.
