The Phillies are right in the battle for the NL East, as they were last season. The Eagles have been in the playoff a lot over the past few years. Overall, although they never win it all, it's pretty good being a Philly fan, thank you.

It's simple
Dallas fans are simply jumping on the bandwagon, they are shallow and Stupid just like the rest of the jesus freaks down there. Texas is the christian version of Saudi Arabia.

Philly Phans are true fans, following the team with a rabid intensity regardless of a 3-13 or a 13-3 season. They have that link like ET and Elliot.

Flashman73: Flyers will be vastly improved this year too.

They'll be improved only because they have nowhere to go but up.

What they're doing looks awfully familiar. Kind of like what the Rangers did from the late '90s until the lockout, and we all know how that worked.

Jjaro: LostSaidDocument, thats not really saying much, giving that the Colts have like 1 preseason win in the last couple years.

Exactly, why would Manning play more than one series in the preseason? Keep him in shape for the season and keep him healthy. He knows plenty about the offense, more than some of his coaches probably. The dropoff when he's not QB is extraordinary. When the season starts he'll shred teams when it counts.

I haven't liked him but last year I at least saw how magnificient a player he is. When he passes the Marino/Favre records I might not cheer him but I'll know he deserves to be at the top.

I agree with Fark da Eagles, since they make such a convincingly jiggly argument. However, since these Eagles fans are making the statement that is universally known to be true among educated and intelligent football fans (such fans only exist outside of the Dallas city limits, and does not encompass anyone who roots for the Cowboys except in extreme circumstances, like the Cowboys beating a specific team will give your favourite team a better shot of getting into the playoffs), I cannot help but agree with these fans, and cheer them on.

Fark da Cowboys!

/There are two teams to root for in the NFL.
//1) The Detroit Lions!
///2) Whoever is playing the Cowboys!

Subby: Philly may not have the best teams, but you gotta love the fans

Obviously, you've never met a Philly fan. They are unlovable.

2007-08-12 02:26:33 PM
And we have Dallas fans trashing us and saying Philly fans do this because the Cowboys have a superior team, and consequently, Dallas fans are superior.

Not one of these statements is factual, or logical. Instead, they're overwhelmingly hypocritical. Like the last thread about the same news story, most Dallas fans that posted had no idea what an NFL Championship was, or that they didn't win the Super Bowl last year. For some reason, even though the Eagles beat them twice in the regular season in 2007, Dallas are still the better team. For some reason, even though the Eagles made it a round further than Dallas in the 2007, the Cowboys are unbeatable. We won the division you're in, for christ's sake!

You have the better history, not the better team/franchise. Stop living in the past.

I'd also like to thank LostSaidDocument for his post. It's a perfect example of the Cowboys fans' mindset: "We won an absolutely irrelevant game that actually proved nothing(even for the rookies), and you guys are PHAGS!"

Texas is the christian version of Saudi Arabia.

Just because your mom got her license suspended on that DUI she got driving you down there doesn't mean ALL women can't drive in Texas.

Jebus. Just when I think I can't possibly hate the city of Philadelphia, the Eagles, or the Eagles fans any more, they turn it up a notch.

It's been said before but it's worth repeating: the reason Philly fans are such bitter assholes is because no one likes living in Philadelphia.

A guy from Philadelphia dies and is sent to Hell.

He had been a horrible man his entire life. The devil puts him to work breaking up rocks with a sledgehammer. To make it worse he cranks up the temperature and the humidity. After a couple of days, the devil checks in on his victim to see if he is suffering adequately. The devil is aghast as the Philadelphian is happily swinging his hammer and whistling a happy tune.

The devil walks up to him and says, "I don't understand this. I've turned the heat way up, it's humid, you're crushing rocks; why are you so happy?"

The Philadelphian, with a big smile, looks at the devil and replies, "This is great! It reminds me of August in Philadelphia. Hot, humid, a good place to work. It reminds me of home. This is fantastic!"

The devil, extremely perplexed, walks away to ponder the Philadelphian's remarks. Then he decides to drop the temperature, send down a driving rain and torrential wind. Soon, Hell is a wet, muddy mess. Walking in mud up to his knees with dust blowing into his eyes, the Philadelphian is happily slogging through the mud pushing a wheelbarrow full of crushed rocks.

Again, the devil asks how he can be happy in such conditions.

The Philadelphian replies, "This is great! Just like April in Philadelphia. It reminds me of working out in the yard with spring planting!"

The devil is now completely baffled but more determined to make the Philadelphian suffer. He makes the temperature plummet. Suddenly Hell is blanketed in snow and ice. Confident that this will surely make the Philadelphian unhappy, the devil checks in on him. He is again aghast at what he sees. The Philadelphian is dancing, singing, and twirling his sledgehammer as he cavorts in glee.

"How can you be so happy? Don't you know its 40 below zero!?" screams the devil.

Jumping up and down the Philadelphian throws a snowball at the devil and yells, "Hell's frozen over!! This means the Eagles won the SuperBowl!"

/wishes Hell freezes over this year

Ahhh Philly fans. Those wonderful individuals who will cheer when a player breaks his neck because he is a Cowboy, fling batteries at players, throw snowballs at Santa, and are so violent they had to put a courtroom in the stadium to deal with all the assaults and drunk and disorderly charges.

Stay classy, Philly fans.

Dallas is 51-41 versus Philadelphia, all-time.

Dallas has won 5 Super Bowls, Philadelphia has won none.

Dallas is 401-299-6 in the regular season, 32-23 postseason, all-time.

Philadelphia is 471-516-25 in the regular season, 17-17 postseason, all-time.

Keep on with the booing though if it makes you feel better.

Ahhh uninformed morons. I'm so tired of this argument. The original person dressed as Santa Claus didn't make it that year, so some drunk idiot haphazardly threw on half a suit on (beard on sideways) and stumbled onto the field. He was booed off so that kids didn't think Santa was a rampaging alcoholic.

As for the Irvin thing, if you were actually there is looked a lot different. A few stupid fans were cheering, but the only reason they could be heard was because the rest of the stadium was in a shocked silence.

I'd like to take this time to point out the Denver fans cheered as their own QB was possibly paralyzed on the field.

As an Eagles fan, it's kinda annoying constantly being called an asshole, but it makes opposing teams/fans piss themselves when they come here.
