SpinStopper: Another Rush Hour 3 greenlit post in less than 5 minutes? Wow ;)

I think Drew is getting commission for plugging RH3

Screw all you guys, I'm gonna see it. Loved the first two, and reviews have pretty much said if you like the first two you'll dig this one.

you are taking a martial arts/comedy movie too serious

A coworker said that she saw it at a preview Tuesday and said that it was actually pretty enjoyable.

And I'll say it: I enjoyed both of the previous ones just fine, and took them for what they are: good for that rainy/don't-feel-like-getting-off-the-sofa/hungover/sick kind of day. Seriously, who wants to watch Saving Private Ryan when they feel like crap?

I have a hope that this movie is just a ploy to lure the idiots of the world into an isolated are only to have them removed from the gene pool.

People asking why Tucker is making so much cash need only look at how well these horrid movies have done on DVD. Every mouth-breathing ham-n-egger has these things and thinks they're the pinnacle of action flicks.

So, this went from Main to Showbiz?

Did your contract state that it had to be on the main page, but didn't specify for how long?

Clever.

There is only one new movie I want to see Chris Tucker in.

It will involve Ice Cube, a Ghetto in LA, a drug dealer named Big Worm, and lots of pot smoking.

Hey mods, why don't you just delete everyone's posts, then? I believe we are all in agreement as to the undeniable suckage of this movie....

Pretty stinking rotten thing to do to censor someone like that. And yeah, I've heard the spiel about how it's your website and you're allowed to censor other peoples' stuff but it doesn't make the action any less dicksome.

Some people actually do want to see it, so I don't think we're all in agreement. How about you stop being such a whiny pussy about it and actually say something meaningful?

say something meaningful about the movie?

I can't perform alchemy. You're fooling yourself if you think anything in this thread is "meaningful".

Now it's your turn to ask me why the hell I'm in here in the first place.

Then it will be my turn to tell you I don't know, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Then we'll be done.

I like Jackie Chan. I saw him on some interview show plugging this garbage and she asked him, "Is this movie any good?"

[It was ah, Regis and that other blonde broad, asking].

And Jackie Chan said, "I don't know." Then he did 14 back flips and punched her in the face.

/JK about that last part.

It was funny. Lowbrow, not hard to follow the jokes, 90% slapstick, didn't have to think through the movie at all.

For that, I love it.

Don't be so hard on him. It's a dirty job, and I'm sure AkaranD isn't getting paid much for it, but this movie sure isn't going to pimp itself.

I wasn't paid to say anything. I'd like to be, but I'm not.

ALL I'm saying is that it's a movie with stupid jokes, decent lines, some amusing fights here and there. Is it going to win an oscar? No. Is it going to win any kind of award? I doubt it. Was it simple, sensless, mindless fun for an hour and a half? Yes. From the very start of the movie till the very end of the movie, it was an amusement.

So, I'll say it again. It's a moderate summer shoot 'em up with more laughs than the other summer shooter - Die Hard - but less explosions and fewer bodies. It was entertainment, it was amusing, it was more or less slightly dirty fun.

If you look at it expecting the next OMG THIS MOVIE RCOSK !!oneone!1! or "Dear Editor: I think that Chris Tucker's acting in this movie was simply marvelous," then you're not going to think much of it... nor should you even THINK you're going to think much of it.

/People like the latter are the reasons why movies such as The Royal Tennenbaums and Chichago are popular.
//If I want to think I'll turn on the news.
///If I want to be entertained I'll watch a movie. Catch the difference.

Rush Hour Three was just plain BORING. Nowhere as near as fun as the previous two movies. The plot is pretty much non-existent and unrealistic, even for a Rush Hour movie. The worst part is that Jackie Chan's fight scenes in the movie are just plain boring.

Essentially, this movie was just one big payday for Ratner, Tucker and Chan and it shows; their combined salaries ate up at least $50 million of the $140 million dollar movie.

2007-08-11 02:01:20 AM
I saw it tonight. Barely anyone in the theater. There's almost no action to this. The writing was sloppy. I saw the "plot twist" within the first 5 minutes. Wow was this bad.

2007-08-11 10:48:29 AM
Corbin?...Corbin, ma man....?

Chris Tucker is a screaming, unfunny stereotype. No farking way in hell will I see Rush Hour 3.

/Except for The Fifth Element...but that's not his movie.
