Hot Lunch:

outside of the body, caffeine solution added to muscle fibers makes them contract. caffeine should actually help your muscles get pumped up and will dull the pain when you're lifting very hard.

I take generic caffeine tablets before training my legs hard (squats, leg press) it takes the edge off the pain so I can lift harder.

the #1 reason why people don't see results after training with weights, even when they lift consistently and push themselves, is nutrition. Muscle growth, or hypertrophy, requires eating about every 3 hours

Also, drinking coffee has been shown to help ward of type-ii (adult onset) diabetes.

Sugar consumption is not correlated with type-II diabetes, but these is a correlation between being overweight/obese and getting adult diabetes. it's a common misconception to think that sugar causes diabetes, while it's actually obesity-related.

Coffee might be a good preventative measure for overweight people. the same anti-diabetes benefits come from decaffeinated coffee too, so they know it's not the caffeine that does it

Also, know that "ephedra" (ma huang) is an *herb*, and won't do jack. Don't bother with it.

You want "ephedrine HCL", typically comes in the 25mg tabs. That's the shizznit. The 200 mg guaffinisen or whatever it is gets put there by the government, won't matter.

It isn't cheap anymore. Used to be you could get 100 tabs for about $12. Now, that price has gone up seven-fold.

/Thanks to tweakers making it into harder stuff, it was nearly regulated out of existence.

Veggies: Wonder what'd happen if you snorted powdered caffeine.

It stings a little and you taste bitter caffeine residue for about 10 minutes. It also kicks in REALLY fast

Beware that pure caffeine can kill you.

You can get the reagent-grade stuff online, it's for experiments only!

Snorting a line of it seems incredibly reckless and dangerous. Follow the directions!

/ever seen a real drug overdose? I have. NO FUN.

they banned ephedra but not ephedrine

Ephedra products are herbal, plant products

Ephedrine is a molecule found within the herb. It's the active compound from ephedra. They can manufacture it synthetically and they still sell it as a salt, ephedrine HCl. But it's highly regulated now just like pseudoephedrine (Sudafed)

/it's akin to banning marijuana plants but allowing sales of synthetic THC

I couldn't get through 1/4th of a line before I stopped, but the line itself was maybe 200mg.

Did you check out the link I put up earlier? 1000 25mg tabs for about $135 US, 200 for $40

bachdog

that.

If what you're buying comes in a capsule, it's junk. You want the synthetic, comes in white tablets:

www.cheap-ephedrine.com

Anything else is a ripoff. Watch for them trying to sell you "herbal HCL". That's a scam.

/ephedra capsule = bad.
/ephedrine HCL 25mg tablet = good.

I like energy drinks a lot. I hate plain old black coffee, the very definition of bitter, but it tastes good with doses of flavored creamer so high that I get ribbed by my coworkers. I also find that coffee gets me to the bathroom a lot quicker than energy drinks.

Interestingly, though, I don't look at it as a functional beverage like many in this thread. It's never even occurred to me to regularly "use" a non-alcoholic drink to change my disposition or energy level. I've had so much caffeine over the years that I can easily down a Full Throttle Blue Demon and take a nap. In fact, I'm contemplating doing that right now. I just think they taste good, basically a lot like carbonated fruit juice.

Oh, and I run or aerobically exercise almost daily, so I just barely dodged another pigeonhole.

What is submittar talking about? Energy drinks are $1.50 - 2.50. A basic Starbucks is $4.00. Should've read:

"Remember that cup of triple double sooper over-easy macchiato almond vanilla with a squirt of chocolate eclaire peanut butter sauce you just had? Yeah, you could have had a Red Bull and saved yourself $3 bucks"

It's called reading comprehension, submitter. Try it.

Actually the difference is that Ephedra, the plant contains high levels of Akaloids similar to the poison strychnine. The reason it gives you an energy boost, it because it causes your kidneys to swell as they try to filter out the akaloids, and your adrenal glands are located on top of your kidneys and the swelling causes them to release additional adrenaline.

I'm sure I don't have to tell you how horrifcally bad this is for you long term.

COCAINE ENERGY DRINK!!! IT'S F*CKING SWEET!!

/too bad retarded people can't tell the difference between a white, illegal powder and a red energy drink

Lost energy drink is the bomb. 180mg of caffiene, and they are 2/5$ (big can).

Mcdonalds coffee does the trick in the morning. especially when its storng. It tastes like crap when its powerful, but it will wake you up.

If they had a energy drink called "Sooper Xtreme Hyper Throttle XXX energy drink" I would buy it. Cuz im that XTREME!!!

2007-08-07 04:01:04 PM
I think the reason that the cocaine drink was banned was that there is currently a government campaign to cast the drug in a negative light so people won't want it.

It isn't that people couldn't tell it apart, it's that your government wants to demonize the word "cocaine", not associate it with a yummy energy drink.

conspiracy=ON

The government also knows that those who wish to use real cocaine will find a way to do so. These people can then be imprisoned for tremendous profit. The fear is that if drugs are legalized, or accepted by mainstream America, there will no long be an easy way to jail ordinary people anymore. Lots of money will be lost in the police, prison and legal industries.

The government wants cocaine to continue to be a word feared by most Americans, so nobody will complain about the obvious civil rights violations occuring to users who are in fact being sold in a modern-day government slave trade.

conspiracy=OFF

/oops, did I say that out loud?

People do realize that ONE "no-doze" tablet is 200mg caffiene?

Have one with your morning coffee and skip the $7.95 latte.

i think the term you guys are looking for is "water intoxication"

it's what happens when you drink so much water that your blood sodium level is reduced dramatically and you can die...ask the mom trying to win the Wii for her kids... http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2007/0125073wii1.html

oh wait..you can't. she's dead from water intoxication.

i'd like to see how many of the folks saying that they only need a vitamin and water have jobs that involve them being active all day. i've found it much easier to keep going when i'm engaged all day but to sit here for hour after hour...ugh...sleepy...need more
slurm.

117 mg caffeine per bottle.
1 bottle = $.69 at Woodman's.
I can't stomach the regular citrus Vault, but the red stuff tastes real good. Like sprite mixed with Kool-Aid. It makes me feel 5 again.

I get a 20oz coffee at Greenlife (local healthfood store) for 99 cents. 4 brews daily, one is usually a yerba mate, a decaf and a couple of full strength.

I had yerba a few weeks ago, man, I was wired after that in a weird way. Had this funky buzz going for an hour or so. I guess I should have eaten something with it. :)

I did a RB coming home late one night, it did nothing. Drank it, felt the same. Arrived home, slept like a baby.

What kills me is when you see some 5'4 250# lard bucket chugging down an "energy drink".

OvenFreshJew: SumoJeb Just a reminder to everyone here. If you are quite dehydrated.. do not drink pure water. you can die (most likely you just throw up the water.. but you can die)

I highly doubt anyone here need worry about that. The only time I've ever even heard of that happening is to bodybuilders pre-contest when they are extremely dehydrated, with the aid of various things specifically to suck water out of them.

True. Its only happened to me when climbing big walls. Up haning in the sun while belaying and then having to lead a block of pitches takes a lot of water out of you. Ive been so dehydrated a few times that when i rehydrated i got sicker. Its pretty scary.

Ah yes...big walls. Where the best drink you ever had in your life is 110 degree water out of an old 2-liter bottle, the finest meal a can of tuna with crackers.

xalres: But do you look hardcore drinking coffee? That's right, you don't! When I'm juicing up to get through the next few hours I need something that tastes like children's tylenol dipped in liquid ass served in a can covered in tribal art flames and barbed wire spikes, and at least one X in the name somewhere.

That's why I drink XXXtreeEe3mE XergYTM energy drink, bro. Not only does it give me a pick me up for at least 30 minutes with its 2 grams of cafeine per serving, but the can is 32 oz. which means everybody around can see just how HARDCORE I am when I drink it!

/now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go raise my truck up a few more inches before I head off to Glamis.

Exactly - adults drink coffee. Sorry but I need a chemical stimulant to counteract all the depresant (I.E.: alcohol)I put into my body the night before. I'm over 30 so drinking anything less than black coffee looks like I'm trying way to hard to be hip. now get off my lawn.

2007-08-08 03:16:46 AM
I would agree that it's hard to get too much water. I tend not to eat salt, though (some medicine I take messes with my sense of taste and smell; practically everything with salt tastes like farking brine) so if I drink "enough" water I tend to start feeling dizzy and seeing spots. Glass of water with Morton's Lite Salt fixes it right up.

Coffee is delicious. Straight black, cream, sugar, syrup, anything, it's delicious. As is tea. Energy drinks are generally not so tasty (low-carb Monster being one of the good ones; haven't tried Bawls), but at least for me, they make me feel like I'm completely wired, although not in an entirely pleasant way. I'd rather have my 4-8 cups of coffee on the rare occasion that I actually drink something caffeinated. Along with a regular, good multivitamin. Exercise is good, too. When I exercised all the time I felt like a human being again. Getting enough sleep comes first, though.

/mmm, coffee
//just not that starbucks crap. ever. disgusting
///tazo "passion" flavor tea for the caffeine-free pick-me-up win!

Gauffinisen is an expectorant that's been in most Ephedrine HCL tabs for years and years. It's has nothing to do with the goverment or anyone trying to stop meth production. It's there to help breakup mucus, the same role it plays in cough medications. Remember Ephedrine is a powerful decongestant and was marketed for years as a "Bronchidilator" to ease asthma symptoms or allergies. Yes, it was also sold in gas stations to help you stay awake.

It's the damn tweakers making meth who got this chemical regulated nearly to death.

2007-08-08 03:27:11 PM
If this were true then please explain why too much coffee makes me a little jittery while too much energy drink causes my brain to seemingly disconnect from my spinal column while the room spins and my hands shake violently... really, i had to quit drinking them over it...
