Bullet holes the size of Matzo Balls!!!

2001-07-20 09:07:18 AM
British: Wrong guess, but i'm European so i'm thinking this might have been 'hot' in the US and not here in Europe.

2001-07-20 09:08:24 AM
Wasn't Captain Lou Albano in the music video for that Goonies song???

Still one of my favorite movies, btw.

2001-07-20 09:18:23 AM
Sloth was the best!

2001-07-20 09:27:24 AM
"Let's do the time warp again..." wait wrong one......."an African swallow or a European....." damn it......can't get my cult movies right today.

Sloth is the best.

2001-07-20 09:33:49 AM
Captain Lou was in the "girls just wanna have fun" video for sure, but i'm not positive about the Goonies Cindy Lauper video....dammit Inknow that song too, what the name of it someone help me.

``You can always tell the Goonies fans,'' said Gina Forsyth, the Chamber's visitor services coordinator. ``They are a certain age, they usually come in a group and they have a certain look, a certain twinkle in their eyes.''
And they eat lots of Doritos & Twinkies, have dilated pupils and say "Dude!" repeatedly.
You freaks just stay the hell out of my state.

wasn't Captain Lou in the "Time after Time" video too?

2001-07-20 09:42:28 AM
I actually watched this movie not too long ago. I have the VHS tape of it. Got it when it came out so it's pretty worn out. Can't wait for the DVD.

hehehehe..."One Eyed Willy" HAH! Never thought there could have been other meanings for that when I was a kid.

2001-07-20 09:44:11 AM
All I remember about the "time after time" video was a little aluminum trailer out in the middle of a forest...wait a tick. lost out in the forest whacky ass women no-one heard from for years...I think Cindy Lauper is the Blair Witch!

A sequel, and everyone is coming back?! Awesome!
I hope they realise that most people going to watch it will be in their 20`s and that they don`t disney-ize it for kiddies.
And i wonder what they all look like by now, i`ve seen Chunk, he ain`t fat no more, but i`d like to see what that cheerleader chick (Andi) looks like now.

2001-07-20 10:13:55 AM
Sadly, not everyone is coming back. Notable is the fact that the actor who played Sloth died. (amongst others: http://www.thegoonies.com/Now.htm)

SpiderJerusalem: Are you perhaps thinking of "The Goon Show", the radio comedy troup that included Dudley Moore and Peter Sellers?

There's something about "The Goonies" that really embodies 80's Wholesome Goodness quite nicely.

2001-07-20 11:01:51 AM
Thanks CarlSpackler, she`s still pretty hot i see. Roll on Goonies 2.

2001-07-20 11:02:52 AM
"Pinchers of power!"

I have this whole damn movie memorized. I can't wait for the DVD either.

2001-07-20 11:03:51 AM
I wasn't born until 1986, but Goonies is still one of those "childhood memories" movies of, um, my childhood. Sloth always scared me.

2001-07-20 11:13:10 AM
Goonies rock man. Chunk!

But can they top the One-eyed Willy storyline with the sequel?

In response to Corey Feldman, didn't I read somewhere that he was mad that he has never gotten respect as an actor? Something about being denied an Oscar nomination. Tried to find the link but couldn't.

True Story: I used to be in a band called "The Copperpots."

It was an obscure reference. Everyone seemed to get it. Do you?

2001-07-20 11:41:37 AM
I first saw the "Goonies" on a rainy Sunday afternoon double feature with "Fletch."

Best double feature ever.

2001-07-20 11:50:24 AM
That's not Martin Sheen, you idiot! It's John F. Kennedy!

2001-07-20 12:22:34 PM
Chester Copperpot!

I was out in Oregon last October...a lot of it wasn't even filmed in Astoria like the movie implies. Those rocks off the coast are near Cannon and Crescent Beaches about 30-45 minutes drive south of Astoria. Long way to ride a kiddie bike...

Sue me. I was a little disappointed myself when I went out there. Thought I'd share my observations. Hey...at least I didn't mention they also shot scenes in Bodega Bay, California...

oops.

Where's my lawyer? I'm suing.

What a coincidence. Goonies is playing at the Aquarius in Palo Alto, CA at midnight tonight and tomorrow night. Just a PSA in case any of you want to fly out.

Man, searching for One-Eyed Willy's rich stuff... ultimate rainy day activity. ;)
Wish there were more movies like this.

2001-07-20 08:53:17 PM
Ahhh the legs on the cheerleader girl.

And why did we not see more of the kid who played Data?
That kid ruled!
