Silly Putty ?

I'd investigate. It may be some C4.

This won't last long.

All the national newspapers will band together and file a lawsuit against anyone using silly putty for copyright infringement.

It's fun, but is it necessary to have 50 pounds of the stuff ??

"The allure of such a wad is difficult for Mr. Kivert, of Whitehall, Pa., to explain."

Does this strike anyone else as extremely funny? (or is it just me?)

meshman LOL.

If you outlaw silly putty, then only outlaws will have silly putty.

I wonder at what age people start to mature?
It seems the age of "maturity" keeps getting older and older.

That's silly.

"Watching a half-pound ball of it slowly ooze on the dashboard of his car gives him something to do in traffic."

Something to do in traffic? Great-- give the retards something to focus on besides talking on their cell phone or eat hot soup...just what the highways need.

I am envisioning silly putty sex toys!

I knew a guy that had 10lbs of silly putty a few years ago. It was awesome. We destroyed his house with it. His cat is still afraid of the stuff.

2002-09-10 11:13:04 AM
I might be up for a pound or two myself, TXMav.

2002-09-10 11:13:50 AM
The articles says you need to buy 100lbs of the stuff, not 50

2002-09-10 11:14:55 AM
This is what people are doing at work these days? And here I felt guilty for farking off...

2002-09-10 11:15:06 AM
If you play with it enough, the stuff gets all disgusting and discolored and it loses it's "feel". 50 pounds isn't even enough!
I sure wouldn't mind a brick of that. I love the stuff.

Finally, I'm not the only one! Silly putty is a great stress reliever, its fun, and it can keep you awake during boring meetings if you're discreet. I always carry an egg of it in my purse.

2002-09-10 11:36:21 AM
OK, it's settled, whoever did the Fark 'meetup' yahoo group needs to get crackin' on a silly putty yahoo group. I will commit to 10 lbs. Lets get this thing moving.

2002-09-10 11:37:23 AM
Actually, put me down for 20 lbs, 10 lbs per boobie!

2002-09-10 11:41:10 AM
My boyfriend and I love to "pop" silly putty (make an air bubble and squeeze). We compliment each other on really loud ones. One time we had some friends over and he was playing with the silly putty - but they didn't notice. He made a really loud pop and I called out from the kitchen "good one honey." Our friends thought he had cracked his knuckles, they were horrified! A beautiful moment.

I will never stop taking delight in an egg of Silly Putty. Why, just last week I bought some for my 22 y/o nephew to play with while he was laid up in the hospital after surgery. At first he balked, but once he got a whiff of that magic goo he was right back to being a kid again.

Does anyone else like to bite it, or is that my own dark weirdness?

Gepeto,
Really? What IS that compulsion?!

2002-09-10 12:13:58 PM
I'd rather have a 55 gal drum of KY. Not sure that would be good for work though.

2002-09-10 12:16:57 PM
Somebody once said " it's never too late for a happy childhood"... sign me up for 10 lbs.

2002-09-10 12:18:15 PM
Man this is something I am surprised hasn't hit (no pun intended) the rave scene. It hasn't in my country but who knows. Also imagine Putty paintball bullets!

2002-09-10 12:22:45 PM
Hyatus,
Wow, that makes 3 of us so...officially I'm not a dark weirdo. Well, I am but not in reference to the biting Silly Putty thing.

wait till after early October (2k in bills due by Oct 10th) and Im in for at least 10 lbs...

2002-09-10 12:43:49 PM
Count me in on this too... That's the coolest link I've seen in a good while. If anyone missed it, you can get 1 lb. chunks for 20-24 bucks, in some really interesting colors. I personally went for coral just for the sensation of having a pound of the original. I have several eggs of the stuff at my desk at work and at home...I think it is a fantastic stress releiver.

I'm a little ashamed of myself for not personally looking into getting bigger chunks of it myself.

Slinkies and silly putty. Should be at every person's desk.

2002-09-10 12:55:25 PM
Why buy it when you can make your own.

2002-09-10 12:56:05 PM

I know a guy who did this at my office. He bought this huge block, dyed it different colors, and gave everyone a piece. It's pretty funny.
