I seem to have a natural ability to collect pocket fluff.

2002-09-09 10:36:15 PM
Uhh... I'm making a Domo-Kun out of paper mache, does that count? Its pretty goofy currently, mainly because it doesnt have a mouth, arms, or even eyes, but it should be done in a month (I'm taking some AP classes, no time). But yeah. I'm really into collecting random ska songs on my computer, so if you have any, listen to them. A lot.

I'm collecting state Fark tags. I have no envy for the poor farker attempting to create one for Mississippi.

I need more .

I collect eeyore items, books and use to have a decent record collection til my ex finace decided to steal them. He was weird he also stole some of my clothes, maybe I missed a hint to something along the way, hmmm....

I collect turn-of-the-century quack Medical equipment. I currently have a collection worth around $25,000. It ranges from Phrenology Equipment to Violet Wands, to an examination table used in the 1930's - stirrups and all!

Needless to say, the neighborhood kids LOVE my house during Halloween.

Staples. I kid you not. I have a magnet somewhere that's buried in an amorphous mass of used staples. My sister threw it at me once 'cause she said it was lame or something. I told her to go put it back in my room (several times, getting more annoyed), and finally she threw a teenage hissy fit (she averaged about 1 a day back then) and launched it at me. For some reason, I allowed her to live.

Oh, and I used to collect Warhammer miniatures, but since I obtained enough models to field a 2000-point army, I told Games Workshop to go molest itself and use warriors for every unit type.

1,500 cards in under 5 months. Booyah.

2002-09-09 10:51:49 PM

and PhotoShoppersAnonymous doesn't make sense for psa, what does that have to do with this article? someone tell me now.

I collect body parts from accident scenes. Yep, Paramedic. The DRs say I'm doing a lot better now...

One sec, I think the hand is knocking on the ice box door again.

Dalton McGuinty has promised me I can be lieutenant-governor if I help put Liberal signs on lawns during the next provincial election.

So, journalists are liberals...

I've never collected anything.
And I'm not nutz.
Really.
I'm ...NOT ...*sob*

Well, that headline is driving me mental.

Does porn count? Actually, as much as I sit here, I just collect dust.

Bah. I got nothin'.

2002-09-09 11:02:41 PM
I collect internet porn. Got a few gigs of that.

I also used to collect Comic Books, Magic Cards, and GI Joes when I was a little kid.

Nowadays I just like to steal free stuff just because its free. I like to go to a buffet with plastic bags and shop for groceries when no one's looking.

farking retards, I would like to kill you and your familly.

I collect: books and music.

Hobbies: skiing, hiking, political/philosophical/legal discussions whilst drinking, wheresgeorge.com.

I'm an Aries.

Pretty prosaic, but I'm still sane.

2002-09-09 11:13:53 PM
I have a Liberal sign and an Alliance sign from the last federal alliance.

For Americans and other strange creatures, the Alliance is the Canadian Reform Alliance Party - ie, CRAP. I kid you not (for the second time this thread).

2002-09-09 11:15:08 PM
I collect anime.
I've got over 3200 episodes, 95 movies, 30 specials and a
bunch of random crap.

Games, too. I love stores that sell used games. That's
where my paycheck goes. ^^;

I have three species of Acropora (brown/purple, green, and a golden color), three Porites (cream, a pale blue with orange-ish polyps, and a yellow), one Montipora (brown with bright blue polyps). Did have three Montipora, but the last one seems to have brought in a virus and killed off a perfectly healthy M. Digitata I had grown from a frag. An unidentified hitchhiker has quadrupled in size. The Pavona is growing nicely and attaching to its base, as well as the Alveopora. The Hydnaphora frag is just there, I don't think it likes its new environment. The Ricordea are doing well, getting much bigger, even sprouting new mouths, but reluctant to divide. The Pocillopora could be quite spectacular if it would only grow a little faster. Hmm, and that's only about half. Didn't realize I've got so many.

Apparently this guy doesn't consider the monetary side of things on this issue. Let's say I wanted to collect guitars (which I do), how the hell am I going to be able to afford them, when I can barely afford to live WITHOUT buying guitars?

this would apply to stamps or coins, too.

2002-09-09 11:22:33 PM
So that's why I'm like this!

I need to start collecting something, maybe there's still hope for me.
Any suggestions?

I collect coffee cans. The big ones. My wife follows me around constantly yelling at me because of it. "there's no room!" She keeps screaming. I just smile & tell myself; "Nearly enough, yup, almost got enough coffee cans."

2002-09-09 11:27:16 PM
Well, I used to collect moldy stuff. Had a whole refrigerator full of it.
Finally sold it on Ebay.

2002-09-09 11:30:59 PM
Duffman collects a lot of things. I once remember collecting bottlecaps (didn't we all?), pogs (remember the little cardboard circles?), Magic: The Gathering cards, ships in bottles, and now I collect medieval statues (although i wish they would do more than just wizards and dragons. its getting awfully repititive. i want a knight or a thief or a druid. I have enough wizards and dragons damnit.) Oh yeah, and I collect those pressed pennies. I have like 2 dozen in a holder thingy. Collecting is fun. Wee.

I'm one of those people - if it's 'collectible' I'll buy it. Doesn't matter if it's something I like or not. Thank the sweet lord for ebay or I'd be on the street begging for money to buy the Gene Simmons bobble head...

SNES

Gamecube
Dreamcast
Gamegear

2002-09-09 11:51:36 PM
actually, i guess i do have a collection. i collect music trivia. it's not by choice, it just seems to be the only thing i am capable of remembering. i don't know what time i have to be at work tomorrow, but i do know that les claypool (prior to forming primus) was the engineer on two yngwie malmsteen albums.

2002-09-09 11:51:43 PM
I collect dust.

I collect home theater parts (and the DVD's to play on them) :)

Does 1,700 books count as collecting? It was an accident, I swear!

Crap...anyone want to help me when I have to move? The amount of beer dispensed will be proportionate to the amount of labor involved.

2002-09-10 12:02:52 AM
revenge of the nerds i guess, its to bad the article is purely speculation.

i think im gonna collect street signs when im older, or maybe beer related novelty items.

2002-09-10 12:09:09 AM
I collect old newspapers! I have a NYT edition published a day or two after the Lincoln assassination. Plus I have Houston newspapers from different events over the last 100 years leading up to the 9/11 attacks.

I haven't quite figured out what I'll do with them though. It's like the dog who chases cars. Once he catches up with it, he doesn't know what to do with it.

I'm bad about buying books that I never read. My intentions are always good. usually get down a couple chapters at least. There must be some genetic trait for obsessive compulsive behavior, and in days gone by, it probably even guaranteed the survival of the tribe.

Oh, I do work for beer, but i doubt we're in the same zip code.

2002-09-10 12:16:24 AM
Um...I've read most of them. How sad. How very, very sad.

I need to collect something new now. Any suggestions?

I'm not exactly a collector, I'm more of a packrat. I accumulate pens, paper (notebooks - tons of them), books, small metal things (cars, pins, coins), rocks (shiny is best), and pretty much anything that actually catches my eye at the time.

I've actively collected Tick items, police cars (small, not full size), police patches and beanie baby dogs (but only the ones I thought were cute). Oh, and when I worked in a comic shop, I bought comics. I never collected them exactly, I sort of was a speculator - I sold three #1 X-Files for $75 a piece. Heh.

My husband collects hideous action figures (he's fond of Spawn figures), pen and paper RPG's (doesn't matter if he plays them or not, he buys them), swords, replica guns (and some real guns) and miniatures (out of production Games Workshop is a favorite). He actually paints some of the minis (and so do I - as long as they don't have a face. I'm really good at wraiths and rocks.) Pretty much our house looks like a 12-year-old's dream.

2002-09-10 12:26:14 AM
It took me several years to do it, (either through buying tapes or recording the reruns as they aired) but I collected all 78 episodes of the original Star Trek. Some of them are even on Betamax!

2002-09-10 12:26:24 AM
I actually collect empty beer bottles. I find it's a rewarding hobby. Especially the "emptying" of the bottles.
