Roast beef sandwiches with melted mozzarella and fresh bell peppers that I just picked out of the garden.
Wild Cherry Pepsi.
Snyder of Hanover Sour Dough Pretzels.
White Widow(of course)

So what are YOU eating as you watch your team tomorrow or Monday night?

Dattaway,

Good call. Top KC BBQ places: Gates, Jack Stack, Arthur Bryants (don't like their sauce tho), Sneads (in Martin City, MO) and KC Masterpiece. Masterpiece's restaurants have very high quality meats.

The best combo of meat quality and sauce is Jack Stack. UNREAL burnt ends!

Non-football related bbq sauce question. Why couldn't I find Bullseye sauce in the 3 relatively large grocery stores I went to in Brampton On ??!!

2002-09-07 06:33:19 PM
Real football food must be smothered in barbecue sauce. Ribs and/or wings are ideal.

2002-09-07 06:41:27 PM
I'm not going anywhere near SLAYER's gouse.

Brooks: Quick's, Wyandotte and the vaunted Oklahoma Joe's are all in that upper echelon as well. If you haven't been to OJ's, you're really missing out.

Last superbowl, homemade pizza. Handmade crust, sauce, about 16-20 ounces of cheese and 2 layers of pepperonis. Probably do the same this year, but maybe invite more people than just one chick (not that it didn't have it's benefits) and make tons of pizzas... and wings... and big coolers full of beer.

Dogbone,

Yah,

I've been to all of 'em. You could prolly list about 100 out there. Smokestack is another good one!

Tell ya what. If the Vikings are in the Superbowl, I'll invite just about everybody on the planet to come to my party. Guess I'm pretty safe there.

Quick question, brooks... who are those chicks, and why do they hang out with you?

Brooks is a professional inventor. He created a device that emits a certain soundwave that can only be heard by attractive girls in halfshirts. As a result, they flock to him like moths to a flame.

Steak, ribs, and grilled shrimp are what we usually go for. Dale's sauce for the steak and shrimp, and any good ole bbq sauce for tha ribs. Plus plenty of home made french fries, cream spinach, and corn. Yummy, I love football season.

2002-09-07 08:01:41 PM
mmmm.....

2002-09-07 08:23:45 PM
wow, what have we NOT had. pork roast put in the crock on Friday night. 3/4 pound hamburgers. fried jumbo shrimp. Huge Porterhouse and NY strip steaks. BBQ chicken. Kielbasa from Dearborn Sausage (best Polish sausage anywhere).
then, to accompany the meat, we make our special side dish: a 9x13 roasting pan filled with potatoes, baby carrots, whole peeled cloves of garlic, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, four sticks of butter, and then after its cooked thru, we top with American cheese slices and broil until the cheese is melted and browned. mmm yummy.
Tomorrow im going to a friends house, he's getting carry out wings from BW3 and then grilling steaks. Too bad we have to watch the Lions get hammered by Miami.

I have two buddies that moved out of KC that I still have to mail Gates BBQ care packages to every once and a while. Extra Hot is the bomb.

I do, however, need to try some others. In the stores here there are like 50 kinds of bbq sauce next to each other.

The Papa Murphy's pizzaria here has a KC Masterpeice BBQ chicken pizza that, were it not so fattening, would consist of my entire diet...

Slayer, now that I've had a few ron barcardis, I can't be a groupie unless you agree that Alvin Lee is on the top ten list of best guitarists born. Sorry.
Renouncing my membership in the Slayer groupie list.

PokeyMon,
I saw the original Ten Years After about 5 years ago at H.o.B. in Chicago. Incredible show. My English teacher in my Senior year of high school swore that Alvin Lee was the greatest he ever saw.

I will say that it is a joke that Ten Years After isn't in the R-n-R H. of F..

BTW, The beef roast is cooking on the grill as I type this. It'll be ready in about an hour. I can't wait. Roast Beef sandwiches are awesome !

Some faves: steaks marinated in Dale's and given a few hits of garlic salt and beer, Sticky Fingers Sauce (some bbq place in Florida, but they sell it at a grocery store here in 'Bama...I tried their Jack Daniel's something-or-other sauce on ribs awhile back and it was great stuff)
