Are you sure it wasn't from the wall to wall mob of hot sticky smelly people in July? I avoid those things like the plague.

We had a coworker who didn't show up for work for two days, didn't call, and didn't email. His mom (emergency contact) said he was very sick, possibly going to the hospital. When I saw him walking down the street on day 2, TOWARD the Taste, in what appeared to be very good health, I didn't know what to think.

Now I know what had happened to him. He at the hummus.

"Max Pars, owner of the restaurant connected with the booth, said he didn't know how such contamination could have happened."

Which is probably why you're not qualified to run a clean establishment. See understanding how something can get contaminated is very useful in preventing contamination.

Yeah but was it tasty?

I've been to Taste of Chicago -- heck, I was there for the Fark party back in '04 -- and I wonder how this doesn't happen more often, what with all the people and all the heat.

The 17 people all ate at the Pars Cove Persian Cuisine booth, which served cucumber salad over hummus, grilled lamb and beef, pomegranate barbecued chicken and baklava.

You know, Pars Cove is actually a kick-ass restaurant. I've been eating there for about 7 years and have never even heard any complaints.

I'm investigating a Salmonella outbreak, and I'm only mildly amused by these replies. C'mon Farkers, I need some funny. I just spent most of my work day trying to get my data to do something useful.

/we had just as many cases, but you don't see us getting any publicity

Pars Cove really is a great place. However, I'm really surprised that this is the first time anyone has ever come done with food poisoning at the Taste. How is that even possible? I love the Taste but damn..... we are hardly talking about sterile conditions here.

2007-07-12 07:19:16 PM
I hate to say it but........

This douchenozzle probably used the same containers to hold the cooked items as he used to marinate the raw items. Without a proper sanitizing washout, he's asking to have every customer spraypaint the town in the backwards fashion.

In the industry, preventing problems is the obvious optimum. BUT....if you can not figure out how the problem happened, you really are a retard. Then you are just asking to have it happen over and over and over..........

I'm curious what his main establishment looks like, and smells like.
